DayZ won't launch? Is the game slow? Crashes? Buggy? Solving the most common problems. DayZ crashes Standalone DayZ won't install

If you are faced with the fact that DayZ slows down, crashes, DayZ does not start, DayZ does not install, controls do not work in DayZ, there is no sound, errors pop up, saves do not work in DayZ - we offer you the most common ways to solve these problems.

First, check whether your PC's specifications meet the minimum system requirements:

  • OS: Windows 7/8.1 (64-bit)
  • Processor: Intel i5-4430
  • Memory: 8 GB
  • Video: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 760/AMD R9 270X
  • HDD: 16 GB
  • DirectX: 11

Be sure to update your video card drivers and other software

Before you remember the worst words and express them towards the developers, do not forget to go to the official website of the manufacturer of your video card and download the latest drivers. Often, drivers specially optimized for them are prepared for the release of games. You can also try installing a later version of drivers if the problem is not solved by installing the current version.

It is important to remember that you should only download the final versions of video cards - try not to use beta versions, as they may have a large number of unfound and unfixed errors.

Do not forget that for stable operation of games, installation of the latest version of DirectX is often required, which can always be downloaded from the official Microsoft website.

DayZ won't launch

Many problems with launching games occur due to incorrect installation. Check if there were any errors during installation, try uninstalling the game and running the installer again, after disabling the antivirus - often files necessary for the game to work are deleted by mistake. It is also important to remember that the path to the folder with the installed game should not contain Cyrillic characters - use only Latin letters and numbers for directory names.

It also doesn’t hurt to check if there is enough space on the HDD for installation. You can try to run the game as Administrator in compatibility mode for different versions of Windows.

DayZ is slow. Low FPS. Lags. Friezes. Freezes

First, install the latest drivers for your video card; this can significantly increase the FPS in the game. Also check your computer's load in the task manager (opened by pressing CTRL+SHIFT+ESCAPE). If before starting the game you see that some process is consuming too many resources, turn off its program or simply end this process from the task manager.

Next, go to the graphics settings in the game. First of all, turn off anti-aliasing and try lowering the post-processing settings. Many of them consume a lot of resources and disabling them will significantly improve performance without significantly affecting the picture quality.

DayZ crashes to desktop

If DayZ often crashes to your desktop slot, try to start solving the problem by lowering the graphics quality. It is possible that your computer simply does not have enough performance and the game cannot run correctly. It's also worth checking for updates - most modern games have a system for automatically installing new patches. Check if this option is disabled in the settings.

Black screen in DayZ

More often than not, the problem with a black screen is an issue with the GPU. Check if your video card meets the minimum requirements and install the latest drivers. Sometimes a black screen is a result of insufficient CPU performance.

If everything is fine with the hardware and it meets the minimum requirements, try switching to another window (ALT+TAB), and then returning to the game window.

DayZ won't install. Installation stuck

First of all, check if you have enough HDD space for installation. Remember that for the installation program to work correctly, the stated amount of space is required, plus 1-2 gigabytes of free space on the system disk. In general, remember the rule - there should always be at least 2 gigabytes of free space on the system disk for temporary files. Otherwise, both games and programs may not work correctly or may refuse to start at all.

Installation problems can also occur due to a lack of Internet connection or unstable operation. Also, do not forget to pause the antivirus while installing the game - sometimes it interferes with the correct copying of files or deletes them by mistake, considering them viruses.

Saves don't work in DayZ

By analogy with the previous solution, check the availability of free space on the HDD - both on the one where the game is installed and on the system drive. Often save files are stored in a documents folder, which is located separately from the game itself.

Controls don't work in DayZ

Sometimes game controls do not work due to multiple input devices being connected at the same time. Try disabling the gamepad or, if for some reason you have two keyboards or mice connected, leave only one pair of devices. If your gamepad does not work, then remember that games are officially supported only by controllers defined as Xbox joysticks. If your controller is detected differently, try using programs that emulate Xbox joysticks (for example, x360ce).

Sound doesn't work in DayZ

Check if the sound works in other programs. After this, check whether the sound is turned off in the game settings and whether the sound playback device to which your speakers or headset is connected is selected there. Next, while the game is running, open the mixer and check if the sound there is muted.

If you are using an external sound card, check for new drivers on the manufacturer's website.

GAMES Deep Silver has published a new trailer for the game Shenmue III, dedicated to the various activities that the hero will engage in in addition to battles with enemies. In the video, Ryo Hazuki wanders around the market...

And so, installation:
1. First of all, we need a clean standard DayZ server (without mods, since mods can cause parts of the guide to not work). You can install it according to the instructions, for example, like this:
2. Add the mod from the archive to the game server folder:
Please Login or Register to view this: Attachment.
3. Add to the server startup parameters:
-Filepatching "_ServerMod" If your server already has server mods, just add the mod folder to the list of mods used by the server.
IMPORTANT: do not add this mod to the server startup parameter -mod=, otherwise it may become a problem for players entering with the parameters verifysignatures=2; equalmodrequired=1;
4. In the “config file” of the server (where the server name and other settings are) add settings for the mod:
//KillFeed_mod KillFeed_enableSaveKills = 1; // Enable saving the kill counter for players KillFeed_enableSaveDies = 1; // Enable saving the death counter for players KillFeed_enableCustomTimeLog = 1; // Enable the mod to record "Custom" player death logs KillFeed_enableDefaultLog = 1; // Enable the server to record standard server logs in scripts.log KillFeed_enableDebugLog = 1; // Enable the server to record server debug logs in scripts.log (works when KillFeed_enableDefaultLog = 1) KillFeed_enableMessages = 1; // Enabling sending messages to the server chat about player deaths. As you can see, there are explanations for the settings.
Let me remind you that the active server profile is indicated by the parameter "-profiles=(folder name or folder path)"
For example, when specifying:
-profiles=Instance_1 server profile folder will look like this:
5. We start the server, die from zombies and rejoice. Messages about player deaths will be in the chat of other players (if they are not disabled in the game settings) and in the script.log.

Where are the kill and death counters stored? Answer:
They are stored in the game server profile. Those. after the 1st launch, 2 files are created (like the game client in windows documents in the dayz folder) in files with the extensions ".vars.DayZProfile" and ".DayZProfile". When these files are deleted, the counters will be reset!

P.S. To see messages in the chat, you need to be the 2nd player on the server, and one of the two must die. the one who dies does not see the chat messages!!!

The mod allows you to:
Withdraw money from the account. Deposit money into the account. Transfer funds from a bank to another player’s bank, even if he is offline (by UID)
Server side settings:
Points where the bank is available. The radius within which the bank is accessible (from the center of the point - see above). A hotkey that calls up the ATM menu on the client side. Profile folder for storing data on players' bank balances.
*The mod automatically exchanges currency at face value when depositing or withdrawing funds.
*The client part can be downloaded from STEAM.
*To connect the server part, just drop it into the server folder and specify the folder for storing the balance.

June 15, 2016, but all the information presented in this article is also relevant for the 0.60 stable patch.

Many have encountered some problems when launching a new patch, let's figure it out and try to solve these problems in this article. We have provided a list of all possible problems that you could encounter in patch 0.60!

— Build patch number 0.60.132867
— 0.60 experimental patch released on May 4
— Update size 1.9GB

Remember that 0.60 is just the first appearance of a new render, so you will encounter a carriage and a small cart of bugs. The developers, as always, desperately need your bug reports, and even despite the bug searcher not being ready, you can post all the bugs you encounter on your way to the sub-forum, after which the developers will remove them http://forums.dayz.com/forum/151 -060-experimental-bugs/

As stated earlier: when the new render appeared, the developers aimed at visual similarity with the old render. The developers hope that in the 0.60 experimental version you will help them eliminate problems with performance, visual bugs, functional interface bugs, as well as bugs in the Central Loot Economy.

Don't forget to update all your drivers and Windows before running 0.60 (See the last error in the list) And don't forget that the new patch only supports DX11, it will not work on older video cards with DX9.

Here is a list of already known problems and their solutions:

  • “Memory cannot be READ”, this is due to missing components on your OS, try updating DX11 to the latest version or updating your Windows to the latest update. If it doesn't help, try deleting all the files from My Documents in the DayZ folder and checking the cache in Steam. Don't forget to restart your computer!
  • “When trying to log into the server, it says connecting failed” - this problem is due to the heavy load on the servers, continue to try to log into the server, or try again later
  • “I don’t see experimental servers” - in order to find them, try unchecking “password” in the browser filter and writing the word Experimental in the filter in the HOST field
  • “Black Screen appears when starting DayZ Standalone 0.60” - This problem is related to the screen resolution. Go to the game properties from the Steam library >> View Local Files >> Launch DayZSetting via Notepad >> Set the screen size to your screen resolution. And the problem should be solved!

If this did not help you and you are still having problems, follow these instructions:

80% of problems with launching 0.60 patch will be solved if you do the following:

  • Install Windows 10, this is the fastest way - it will solve most problems
  • Update Windows to the latest version
  • If you don't want to install Windows 10, upgrade your Windows 7/8. But we recommend Windows 10
  • Update your Video Card Drivers to the latest version

If nothing has helped so far, then:

  • Uninstall DayZ
  • Delete the folder C:\Users\USER\Documents\DayZ
  • Make sure that the folder C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\DayZ is also deleted
  • Reinstall DayZ
  • Install Experimental Patch
  • Delete all launch options in Steam in the DayZ tab

The solution to other problems is here:

The render resolution in the settings is not set to 100%, it remains at 200%

Solution to the problem:

- delete the folder C:\Users\USER\Documents\DayZ and re-enter the game

Error when entering the game "0x00bdc866"

Solution to the problem:

- delete the folder C:\Users\USER\Documents\DayZ

- stop all running processes related to DayZ

- install DirectX version 11.1 (KB2670838) from here https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2670838

- if nothing works, install Windows 10

FPS drops from 60 to 0

Solution to the problem:

Disable clouds in game settings

The following bugs are also already known in patch 0.60:

  • FPS can drop to zero when clouds are turned on.
  • Errors: “Cannot open object dz\plants\dead\d_fagussylvatica_fallen.p3d” and “unable to load WoodTwinOpen from CfgActionSounds”.
  • Client: Some animals get stuck in obstacles.
  • Character: A newly spawned character may be visually naked, with a pistol on the “hip” of the character model located under his feet.
  • Environment: The character can look through walls using firearms.
  • Infected: Infected can hit from a distance when the character is lying down with the first couple of attacks, they can lose textures, run through walls after getting stuck in stairs, in addition, attacks are displayed with a delay.
  • Items: Items transferred to hands during the animation permanently disappear. Silencers have no effect.
  • Menu: Server icons disappear in the server browser (With password, old version)
  • New render: Infected paramedics visually disappear at a certain distance. Damaged, very damaged and broken items have a “fresh” texture. The devices on the weapon twitch. Visual bugs: shadows, textures (for example, disappearing ones), light.
  • Server: Items, ammunition and magazines for weapons are not saved after a server restart. After the re-entry, the corpses freeze in their position until the re-entry (standing, for example). The player sees another player with a climbing animation.
  • Throwing things: Throwing weapons can get stuck in your hands.
  • Interface: It is impossible to loot a dead/tied or unconscious player. There is an extra “view contents” inscription.
  • Vehicles: Global errors: Cars suddenly stop moving. Delays when driving a car close to another car.
Vehicles: Characters cannot exit a vehicle stuck between obstacles. Players driving see other drivers with a delay.
  • Weapons: Grenades: Grenades only work after being thrown.
  • Weapons: Blinding Grenades: No blinding effect.
  • Weapons: Firearms: Reloading a weapon while prone will not be registered until the character picks it up.
  • Weapons: Pump-action/bolt-action weapons can fire twice on their own.
  • Bolts\Arrows: Do not appear in weapons.
  • There is a risk that your client will crash the first time you try to join the Daiz servers in the current 0.60 experimental version. Try updating your Windows drivers, returning the stable version to 0.59, logging into the server and logging out, then update again to the 0.60 experimental branch.

Now is the time for constant news and guides on DayZ Standalone, this is due to the release of the new 0.60 patch. That is why I highly recommend subscribing to our Public on VK

The problem in version 0.61 manifested itself in the form of a "Black Screen", in version 0.62 in the form of a lack of control over the character in the game. The following description starts from the moment the problem occurred - version 0.61:

I reinstalled Windows and started the game after loading "Dayz" black screen!
IT PREVIOUSLY WORKED ON 0.61.1.1 BUT, on 0.61.1.2 the game no longer started...
The problem may appear as a black screen, blue, pink, white and purple, depending on the time of day of the server.
Added by admin:
A temporary solution was found by player steklo22 in the topic: https://strikearena.ru/forums/topic/56249-black-screen-solved-problem/
We don’t forget to say special thanks to our comrade for this.

Spoiler

UPD: since the topic was deleted, here is a quote from the above-named user:

I am writing in detail how everything happened so that the programmer can draw conclusions

In general, I couldn’t play for almost a month, there was a black screen, sometimes blue, sometimes green, reinstalling it didn’t help, I looked through everything on the forum, sometimes after 20 attempts I was able to log in, but this is 1-2 times a day. I quit and didn't play for a couple of weeks...
In general, I decided to do everything the right way,
1) deleted dayz, deleted the dayz folder from my documents, deleted the downloaded archive,
2) removed Kaspersky security, disabled the Windows firewall (for the purity of the experiment)
3) deleted all C++, cleaned the computer, registry, recycle bin....
4) downloaded a new archive, update
5) ran the installation as administrator
6) set the installation path to C:\Program Files (x86), although the installer asked for drive D, which was the floppy drive
7) unchecked the "read-only" checkboxes from the folders
And.....

IN GENERAL, THE ABOVE DID NOT HELP...black screen as always

I started logging into different servers, poking, poking, and suddenly I only logged into the PVP server once, when I tried to log into the PVP server again, the color screen again...... and then the thought flashed through my mind that there was a problem with saving the character... try not torture.

I go into my personal account, kill a character on veteran... and Aleluya, I can easily enter veteran, but I can’t go to classic..... then I kill a character on classic and again I play Aleluya without problems, log in, exit without problems. the next day a bug happened (I’ll tell you about it below) and again the black screen, but only on classic, I can access veteran freely. I kill the character again in my personal account on the classic server, and voila, I'm in the game. CHARACTER SAVING PROBLEM

If you have a black one, do this: go to your personal account and kill the character, and everything will work for you

Everything will work until a bug happens again, then you’ll have to kill yourself again.

This is for the programmer and administration:
What bug am I talking about? About the save bug. I don’t know for sure, but the bug is related to saving the character, I definitely caught this moment....
.... I took a jar of water and it is not displayed in the inventory, but it took up space in the cell, I can’t remove it because it is not visible, and nothing can be put in its place, it’s occupied, and most importantly, the jar of water is on the ground too.. .. I was not fooled by it, pressed to pick it up and turned the wheel and began to drink... the animation of drinking water began, but the character’s hand was empty. Further. There was a barrel next to me, I picked it up a minute later and decided to put it back, the barrel would not be removed from my hands, but the character behaved as if the barrel was not there, climbed onto the stairs, etc., and the barrel continued to be tied to one hand. ...
In general, I got tired of it, I put the shirt with the buggy jar on the ground and decided to re-login.... but again the black screen.

I tried to log in to the veteran, I log into the veteran without any problems, I can’t log into the classic.... I went into my personal account and killed a character on the classic server... and alelujah, I can log in and out of the classic server again in the game without problems.

For players: kill a character in your personal account and play calmly, until the bug arose, I calmly ran away for one day... perhaps the programmers will correct it soon if I'm right

P.S. the bug repeated itself, I recorded a solution for the administration and programmer on Bandikam, a video with a jamb, but I left it as is without cutting, etc.... it’s tedious and long

A temporary workaround suggested by the player:

It is noticed that sometimes it helps: Sometimes changing the IP address helps some people (for example, connecting to the Internet from a mobile phone, changing wifi, or connecting via VPN software). Why is unknown, apparently these are features of the game’s network code, which for some reason cannot contact the game server.

P.S. The problem was observed in DayZ 0.61 as described in this topic in the form of black and/or multi-colored screens without any ability to control the character with the periodic appearance of messages from the game chat in the center of the screen. In DayZ 0.62, this problem manifests itself in the form of your character appearing on the game screen, which for some reason you cannot control. All other symptoms of this problem are similar to problems from version 0.61.

Many fans of the horror genre have come across the topic of today’s article. We will analyze the main errors of the DayZ Standalone game.

First, you should make sure that your computer meets at least the minimum system requirements:

  • Windows 7 SP1
  • Intel Core i5-2300+
  • 6 GB RAM
  • GeForce GTX 560 / AMD Radeon HD7750 or other video card with 1 GB VRAM
  • DirectX 9.0c
  • 14 GB of free hard disk space

As you can see, the requirements are quite serious, despite the fact that the game was announced back in 2012. If your PC meets these requirements, but DayZ still freezes, lags or crashes, then move on to the next steps.

Crashes to desktop without any messages

There are two options to help fix this bug. First: delete the DayZ.cfg file from the root directory. Second: reduce the load on the video card. Most likely, it overheats due to heavy load, so the game crashes. If you overclocked your video card, then the second method will 99% help you. Just disable all overclocking settings and play quietly.

DayZ Standalone crashes when changing graphics settings

Another common problem. Unfortunately, there's nothing you can do about it. The crash occurs because the settings you are trying to apply will put too much stress on your system. You'll have to come to terms with this and play with a reduced FPS.

The game crashes on startup

If you encounter such a problem, then you need to disable all background applications and update your video card drivers. This problem is often encountered by users who have an antivirus running, so the first step is to disable it.

Another way to fix the bug:

  1. Open the main game directory
  2. Find dayz.exe and right-click
  3. Select “Compatibility”
  4. Then click on “Disable Desktop Composition”

You can also try disabling V-sync, anti-aliasing and filtering in the settings, and then restart the game.
It’s worth looking into this problem separately for those with Intel HD Graphics. What you need to do:

  1. Remove all graphics drivers
  2. Download and install new drivers from the official Intel website

As we know, many games experience critical errors due to old versions of Visual C++ Redistributable Packages and .NET Framework. Try updating them by downloading from the official website:

  • Visual C++ Redistributable Packages for Visual Studio 2013: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=40784
  • .NET Framework: https://www.microsoft.com/ru-ru/download/details.aspx?id=30653

After that, take the time to check for updates and the latest available patches for DayZ Standalone. If you find something newer than yours, install it.

Specifically with DayZ, it happens that the game lags or crashes on 32-bit versions of Windows. If you have tried everything you can and still cannot fix the problem, then you will have to update your operating system to the 64-bit version.

We hope you found a solution and can now comfortably play your favorite horror game. But if not, then describe your problem in detail in the comments and we will try to help you.
