How to improve the earpiece speaker in iPhone 7. The iPhone has a quiet speaker - why is the sound dull

Recently I ran into another problem, or rather not even me, but two of my friends. Both complained that iPhone speaker is quiet, while the phone did not sink or fall.

One of them immediately asked me to help figure out what was going on, and the second decided to carry out repairs on his own ... by replacing the auditory speaker module. Replacing the speaker did not lead to anything, and the solution in both cases turned out to be completely banal.

The main reasons for a quiet iPhone speaker are:

  1. Moisture ingress
  2. Mechanical damage to the speaker
  3. Dirt-clogged speaker mesh
  4. Falling the phone from a height

After a quick inspection of both phones, it turned out that their owners rarely wash their ears. I am not in the sense that they generally do not hear well, but in the fact that the speaker grid was tightly packed with fat.

In principle, I have already named the reason for the "malfunction" (if you can call it that) of the iPhone speaker and you can no longer read the article to the end ... BUT I still advise you to read at least to the point where I share my experience in cleaning the speaker grid ...

So, the average iPhone user will NOT stick their phone in a dust / moisture impervious case. And if you fall into the category of these people, now take a good look at the holes and slots in the iPhone case.

Yes ... you should have seen a lot of dust and some kind of dirt. Where does it come from? From everywhere - from pockets, bags, dirty hands and greasy ears.

The most common place for dust mixed with fat deposits is the speaker grille. Exactly mud deposits significantly reduce the clarity and loudness of the sound during a telephone conversation.

When you put the phone to your ear ... and start crawling it over the auricle, some of the fat (and all people's ears are a rather oily part of the body, especially if they are not washed regularly) gets inside the mesh in front of the speaker and forms a tight plug.

How to clean the mesh from dirt? Here you have to be extremely careful. The mesh itself is quite delicate and will not “tolerate” strong pressure. Personally, I used a regular wooden toothpick to gently clean out the dirt from the outside.

Try it and you will do the same. After you finish working with a toothpick, you can also walk on the mesh with an old toothbrush and then blow out (even with your mouth) the remaining dust.

I think that these steps will completely solve the problem with the quietly working iPhone speaker.

When cleaning, I got a little more confused and removed the screen on both phones, and then removed the earpiece from the screen module. This way I was able to access the mesh from both sides.

Examining the mesh in the light, in both cases I saw a continuous film of fat. With unhurried movements with a toothpick, alternately from different sides, with periodic wetting of the mesh with alcohol (very little ... less than a drop), I managed to clean the hole with the mesh completely. Now in the light it shone like new.

Actually, this is what the reason for the quiet iPhone speaker... How you clean it is up to you. If you are a brave enough person and are not afraid to work with your hands, plus in addition you have a pair of straight arms, feel free to shoot the screen.

For instructions on how to remove the screen and hearing speaker module for your iPhone model, visit ifixit.com. A minimum is also required from the tool. In fact, the procedure is not at all complicated.

Probably should be warned against things not worth doing:

  • do not try to fill the mesh with liquid, and if you use alcohol, use well-squeezed cotton swabs
  • do not use needles and the point of knives and scissors
  • if you decide to remove the screen, then disconnect it completely together with the cables

Remember that careless / incorrect operation can completely damage the speaker. Although it costs a penny, it's still not pleasant. Wish you luck! And so that the problem does not arise in the future, try to wash your ears more often ...

Hello everyone! We continue and today we are already finishing (for the next year - this is almost certain) the topic of factory marriage in iPhones. Next in line we have a novelty - the iPhone 7 and its larger brother, the iPhone 7 Plus. Did Apple engineers manage to make a wonderful gadget, without any defects? Now let's see and find out ...

Important note. Since the devices are new and have only recently appeared on sale, the article will be supplemented as information becomes available about new identified defects in the seventh iPhone. And you, too, can participate in this. Why not? If you have something to add or you yourself are faced with any common marriage in the iPhone 7 (Plus), then do not be lazy and be sure to write in the comments.

All finished with the introduction. Let's move on to the most important thing - defects. Begin!

IPhone 7 processor hiss

And so, the trouble came from where it was definitely not expected. The brand new A10 Fusion processor found in iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus turns out to hiss and make different sounds under heavy load. What is heavy load? Games, watching videos online, testing in various programs, etc. Moreover, as it turns out, this very processor (to be more precise, transistors or whatever happens on it) produces sounds on almost any iPhone 7. Somewhere quieter, somewhere louder, but in general - the "seven" hisses and this fact.

But what is more interesting - if not normal, then close to it. Almost any iPhone makes noise in this way, it just didn't pay attention to it before. And then the hysteria started :)

Of course, when we say that any iPhone makes noise in this way, we mean a quiet sound. If the sounds are strong, then it is better to turn off the device and hand it over under warranty, this is an unambiguous marriage. Appe is aware of this and such iPhone 7s can be easily replaced with new ones.

Speaker problem - the interlocutor is hard to hear in the iPhone 7

In the comments to this article (thank you!), And on other various resources, many users note the fact that the sound of the spoken speaker in the iPhone 7 is a bit unusual - "like from a barrel." Considering the fact that some people are already handing over their "sevens" with a similar problem to the service (and they change them there!), We conclude that the iPhone 7 has a new marriage - a poorly working earpiece. If possible, be sure to check when buying.

There are really two nuances here that you need to remember before running to the service. If your interlocutor is hard to hear on the iPhone 7, then:

  1. To begin with, be sure to change the SIM card, especially if you have it for a long time and under Nano Sim it was cut off yourself. Well, or just check with another, "normal" sim card.
  2. The iPhone 7 has moisture protection and such a dull sound during a call may be due to the presence of special protective membranes. Which, on the one hand, prevent moisture from getting inside the case, and on the other hand, slightly distort the sound during a conversation.

And that's all for now. At the moment, there is no other known factory defect in the iPhone 7 - an ideal smartphone :) Of course, over time, defects will appear, so where can we go without it. But for now - like this.

P.S. Put "likes" and if you have something to supplement the article, then write in the comments - we will collect all the disadvantages of the iPhone 7 in one place!

How often did you wake up in the morning bouncing at the loud sound of the alarm that you set up yourself in the evening? I jump out of bed quite regularly, and it usually happens just around the time my wife has to get up for work.

For some reason, the volume of her alarm clock is always set to maximum, and the sound signal is “ beating on the ears”Melody.

In order not to twitch every time in the morning with fear, I had to show my wife how to adjust the alarm volume on the iPhone... If anyone did not know how to do this, now I will tell you ...

Actually iPhone Settings does not have a dedicated slider for adjusting alarm volume. This is done by adjusting the iPhone's main volume. To make it clearer, let's break it down step by step.

STEP 1 - Set the desired time and melody (as well as other parameters) of the Alarm in the Clock application.

STEP 2 - Now, with the rocker +/- on the end of the iPhone, adjust the main volume of the iPhone, which affects not only the volume of the incoming call, but also the volume of the alarm clock.

Due to my occupation (I work for a gas and oil company), I sometimes have to get up at 4:20 in the morning. In order not to oversleep this time, I set up two alarms: one at 4:10, the second at 4:20. I usually fight off the first, but the body is already half asleep.

The second makes me get out of bed. For the settings for both alarms, I personally choose the average volume level, and for the sound I set “ Timba“.

This ear-friendly combination does NOT shock my sleepy body and I manage to take another hour nap on the bus on my way to work.

Since we touched on the topic of the iPhone alarm clock, let's clear up a couple more nuances. I have presented them in the form of theses below:

  • If you press the Home button when the alarm rings, the alarm will be turned off without further repeating
  • If you press the Power button when the alarm rings, the alarm will be turned off with an additional snooze after 9 minutes
  • The same two alarm functions can be selected from the iPhone screen (while the alarm goes off)
  • If you activate the silent mode switch, the alarm sound will still be heard

Somehow like this. I hope I've made it clear how to turn down the alarm volume on an iPhone. If you still have questions about any iOS features, be sure to write in the comments. Well, do not forget to support our site by putting a like in one of the social. networks.

The interlocutor does not hear you, is the sound distorted or the speakerphone conversation is interrupted? These are signs that your iPhone speaker is out of order and needs to be replaced. Without this, it is impossible to fully use a mobile device: during a conversation, the interlocutor is hard to hear due to extraneous sounds (crackling, noise, echo, etc.). If the polyphonic speaker is broken, the melody is not heard during the call, or the sounds are broadcast insufficiently cleanly.

It is impossible to repair or change the speaker on iPhone 7 on your own without professional tools and relevant knowledge. It is better to immediately contact the "Planet iPhone" service nearest to you. An experienced technician will diagnose and restore your Apple device for free. It will take no more than 30 minutes for a professional to replace the iPhone speaker. At this time, you can relax in the waiting area. As a bonus - free Wi-Fi and a cup of aromatic coffee.

Why is the speaker failing?

Like other smartphones, the seventh iPhone has two speakers: auditory and polyphonic. Despite the high build quality and reliability of these elements, they can also break. Failure most often occurs for the following reasons:

  • water or dust has entered the speaker, condensation has formed
  • the microcircuit, which is responsible for encoding the audio signal, overheated and peeled off
  • there was a mechanical damage to the phone
  • the gadget fell from a great height, due to which the microcircuit or the speaker itself was damaged
  • loop connected incorrectly

Only an experienced specialist can recognize whether it is a technical breakdown or a malfunction of the software. The foremen of the Planet iPhone service center use professional equipment in their work. They will quickly determine the cause of the breakdown and eliminate the malfunction. You can see the prices for services in a single price list located on the official website of the service center.

You can also call the wizard to your office or home address if you don't have time to go to the service center on your own. An experienced technician will repair the mobile device on site and issue a warranty card. If in the process of diagnostics complex breakdowns were found, the master will pick up the gadget for repair under the conditions of service. At the end of the repair, the device will be brought back to you free of charge.

iPhone 7 is the first iPhone with stereo speakers (one at the top of the phone and one at the bottom), and it plays audio twice as good as the iPhone 6s. This is great, but not when you have an older model.

You can always turn up the volume to the maximum when listening to music, watching movies, or making hands-free calls, but there is another way to make the speaker on iPhone louder.

The method is suitable for all iPhone, iPad and iPod touch models.

How to increase the speaker volume oniPhone

1) Open up Settings.

2) Select from the list Music.

4) Scroll down the list and select Late night.

Now play some song with the mode Late night, and then it, disabling this mode. You will immediately notice the difference in volume. Late Night Mode is the loudest of all Equalizer settings.

It works even when you are listening to music with headphones.

As the name suggests, the mode is designed to increase the audio volume for listening to music or watching movies at night. Equalizer settings affect songs played in the standard Music application.

The mode can also work in other applications and games, as well as when making calls. However, some applications (eg Spotify) have their own built-in equalizers that will prevent the system settings from working.
