I used iOS 11 with one of the first test versions of the operating system. And before the release of the final build, I managed to collect a whole list of recommendations that will help me live with it more comfortably.

In the “Months” section, photos are organized by events. The Photos tab displays names of places, holidays, or performers at a concert.

Filters, cropping and adjustments can now be used in video: you can rotate the image, apply a filter or increase the exposure. Camera

Security and privacy

Control the location data shared with your apps with new, precise controls. You can give an app access to your location just once or every time you use it.

Sign in with Apple

Now you can quickly sign in to apps and websites using your Apple ID. No need to fill out forms or come up with new passwords. Just tap Sign in with Apple (where available), then use Face ID or Touch ID and you're good to go.

Apple will not track or create a digital profile of you when you sign in with your Apple ID. You only provide the app or website with your name and email address.

Not sure you want to share your email with a specific app? You decide. You can choose to provide or hide your email address. Apple can create a unique address for you and redirect incoming emails to your real email.

Sign in with Apple requires your Apple ID to be protected by two-factor authentication. This way, access to accounts in your favorite applications will also be automatically protected. The feature works on all Apple devices, as well as on websites, Android and Windows applications.

House

HomeKit-enabled cameras can now start recording video when they detect movement of people, animals or vehicles. These videos are stored in iCloud. And new privacy settings let you control streaming and recording on video cameras. Added support for AirPlay 2-enabled speakers.

Cards

Now roads, beaches, parks, buildings and other objects on it have been significantly improved and are displayed in much more detail.

Look Around Feature: Explore where you're going with an immersive 3D journey with 360-degree views of the area.

AirPods

A new quick toolbar right above the keyboard makes it easy to add a date, time, location, flag, or even an attachment with useful information to your reminder. Without even switching to other screens.

CarPlay

In nature and practice, there are two ways to update iSO on an iPhone: using a stable Wi-Fi Internet connection directly on the iPhone itself and using the iTunes program via a computer. Both methods are good, but there are certain differences that need to be taken into account when installing the operating system.

Updating directly on the iPhone is, in principle, convenient, but slow due to the poor speed of the network router. Updating on a computer is faster and more reliable, but it requires a USB cable.

Updating iPhone via WI-FI

To update your iPhone, connect it to a Wi-Fi router or turn on 3G/4G mobile Internet. Make sure your smartphone is plugged in and charging, as the update process can take up to 30-40 minutes. Please note that the update stage should not be interrupted under any pretext. Then open the “Settings” window on your device and select the “General” section, in which activate the “Software Update” command.

The smartphone will definitely find out the existing new versions of the system and offer to install them on the iPhone - “Download and Install”. By agreeing, you confirm your intention by pressing the indicated key and start the process of installing updates. When the step is completed, the iPhone will automatically restart, and when it turns on, you will find the latest version of iOS on it.

Updating iPhone via iTunes

To more confidently update your OS, check your PC for the latest version of iTunes. If it is missing, be sure to download it for free from the official Apple page. Again, remember that interrupting the update process is prohibited.

If everything is ready, then you need to connect your iPhone to your PC via a USB cable. The next step is to activate iTunes and find your smartphone in it. In the first window, the entry “Check for Update” will appear, which means checking for updates (since iTunes is updated, do not click), and then go to the “Download and Install” option, which means downloading and installing the software. After a while, when the update is downloaded in full, the iPhone will turn itself off to reboot and turn on the updated version of iOS.
