App Permissions - what is it for Android. App Permissions - What is it on Android When an error message appears

When the smartphone is turned on, a lock may be drawn on the top status bar. When pressed, an error pops up, the text of which mentions Permission Control (identifier com.mediatek.security).

Let's try to figure out a little - what is this program?

I managed to find out

According to one user, Permission Control is a control of permissions for applications. This component is capable of causing glitches, lags, unstable phone operation, increased battery consumption. To disable, you need to go to settings> security, find the item App Permission> disable.

The danger of a disabled app is that all programs will receive full permissions. It is recommended to scan the smart for viruses / Trojans before disconnecting. To check, you can use antivirus software from Kaspersky, Doctor Web.

However, one user reported that after disabling the application, they will still request access for permissions.

Application in the list of installed:

There might also be an error:

permission control error occurred

You can try to freeze this application using Titanium Backup. It is not worth deleting - there may be problems. Titanium app:

When using a regular shutdown, this message may pop up:

Apps will directly get permissions without your confirmation

The message warns - if disabled, then applications will directly receive permissions without your confirmation.

Also, after disconnection, there may be problems with the Play Market (most likely related to security).

Another person confirmed - if you get sick of the Permission Control app, turn it off in settings> security> app permissions.

Additionally, we managed to find out that not only Phone Cleaner (necessary for energy saving) is responsible for launching third-party applications, but also the Permission Control plugin.

If Permission Control is frozen by Titanium, then autostart in the settings will become inactive.

According to unverified information, Permission Control is the same as Privacy Protect.

To make the Permission application no longer bother you, you can tick the Do not notify again box.

Another user wrote his own way to disable

  1. Open the Lucky Patcher, select Permission control.
  2. We clean the cache. We stop.
  3. To freeze. Due to the fact that the application is a system one, it is recommended to make a backup.

Another person wrote that he solved the problem through Gravitsapu - there is a blocking of notifications.

Weird jamb - when the app tries to use GPS, the permission control displays the GPS as Bluetooth.

Google's new Android 4.3 operating system was introduced a couple of weeks ago along with the new Google Nexus 7 tablet. It still bears the codename Jelly Bean, which means that no revolutionary changes should be expected from it.

Nevertheless, among some new features that appeared in Android 4.3 and which cannot be called super-innovative, the new version of the Google operating system has a truly revolutionary application that allows you to grant or deny access of any application to certain system functions. Finally, the day has come when, for example, you can disable access to sending SMS for any suspicious application and no longer worry that it can steal money from your mobile account.

The application that allows you to manage permissions for all programs installed on your tablet or smartphone is called "Operations in applications". But you won't be able to start it just like that - it is a hidden system application.

In order to be able to launch it, you need to create a shortcut for this application on the desktop or in the application bar. How to create a shortcut "Operations in applications" on the desktop, we told in this material.

But if you don't want to clutter your desktop with shortcuts that you only use from time to time, you can use the new Permission Manager application, which will create a shortcut to access Operations in applications in the application bar.

Keep in mind that the app will only work on Android 4.3 and older, and you won't be able to install it from the Play Store on devices with earlier versions of Android, which makes sense.

The Permission Manager serves only one purpose: it gives us the ability to quickly launch the Operations in Applications application just like any other application.

However, in addition to this, it has one more useful option: after launching the Permission Manager, it will display a list of suspicious applications in its opinion that require too many permissions (screenshot in the title). However, in order for you to take full advantage of it, you will have to purchase the Pro version of the Permission Manager.

After installing the program, it will place its shortcut and shortcut to launch "Operations in Applications" in the application bar.

The program settings are minimal: you can choose the appearance of the application shortcut, as well as the mode when you have one single shortcut on your tablet or smartphone intended for accessing operations in applications.

You can download Permission Manager absolutely free in the Google Play Store using this link.

Sometimes app.permissions.sh.dll and other DLL system errors can be related to problems in the Windows registry. Several programs can share the same app.permissions.sh.dll file, but when these programs are uninstalled or modified, sometimes orphaned (invalid) DLL registry entries are left behind.

Basically, this means that while the actual path to the file may have changed, its incorrect former location is still recorded in the Windows registry. When Windows tries looking up these incorrect file references (file locations on your PC), app.permissions.sh.dll errors can occur. In addition, malware infection may have corrupted the registry entries associated with HP Web Jetadmin. Thus, these invalid DLL registry entries need to be repaired to fix the root of the problem.

Manually editing the Windows registry to remove invalid app.permissions.sh.dll keys is not recommended unless you are PC service professional. Errors made while editing the registry can cause your PC to malfunction and cause irreparable damage to your operating system. In fact, even a single comma in the wrong place can prevent your computer from booting!

Because of this risk, it is highly recommended that you use a trusted registry cleaner such as WinThruster (by a Microsoft Silver Certified Partner) to scan and repair any app.permissions.sh.dll-related registry problems. Using a registry cleaner automates the process of finding invalid registry entries, missing file references (like the one causing your app.permissions.sh.dll error), and broken registry references. Before each scan, a backup is automatically created, so you can undo any changes with one click, which protects against possible damage to your PC. The best part is that fixing registry errors can also significantly increase system speed and performance.

Warning: Unless you are an experienced PC user, we do NOT recommend manually editing the Windows Registry. Incorrect use of Registry Editor can lead to serious problems and require you to reinstall Windows. We do not guarantee that problems resulting from improper use of Registry Editor can be corrected. Your use of the Registry Editor is at your own risk.

To manually repair your Windows registry, first you need to create a backup by exporting a portion of the registry related to app.permissions.sh.dll (eg.HP Web Jetadmin):

  1. Click on the button To begin.
  2. Enter " command" v search bar ... DO NOT PRESS YET ENTER!
  3. Holding the keys CTRL-Shift on the keyboard, press ENTER.
  4. A dialog box for access will be displayed.
  5. Click on Yes.
  6. The black box opens with a blinking cursor.
  7. Enter " regedit" and press ENTER.
  8. In the Registry Editor, select the app.permissions.sh.dll-related key (eg.HP Web Jetadmin) you want to back up.
  9. On the menu File choose Export.
  10. In the list Save to select the folder where you want to save the HP Web Jetadmin backup key.
  11. In field File name type a name for your backup file such as "HP Web Jetadmin Backup".
  12. Make sure in the box Export range value selected Selected branch.
  13. Click on Save.
  14. The file will be saved with the extension .reg.
  15. You now have a backup of your app.permissions.sh.dll-related registry entry.

The next steps for manually editing the registry will not be described in this article, as they can most likely damage your system. If you would like more information on manually editing the registry, please see the links below.

Android 4.3 is already in full swing. In this update, there were not only many fixes, but also quite new features, such as support for 4K resolution. Under the curtain of a number of improvements, some hidden update options have gone unnoticed. For example, in previous versions of Android, support for multiple accounts was hidden, and only a knowledgeable person could take advantage of this feature, this time it turned out to be such a dark horse Permissions Manager.

And so, now its brief meaning. When you download an app, each of them requires a certain level of access rights. GPS applications require access to your data in order to determine your location. In some cases, giving access to personal data makes sense, but for most applications it is absurd. For example, Facebook requires access to the history of your calls, but for what purpose it is not clear. The point of the Permissions Manager is to control the process of granting access rights. If you do not want Facebook to know your call history, you can disable this feature using Android Permissions Manager.

This feature is available for all Android 4.3 users, so if you've managed to update, then Permissions Manager is already available for you. How to use it? The most important condition is the presence of Android 4.3.

1. Have installed or updated to Android 4.3.

2. Download and install this application. This application gives access to the so called “App ops”, in other words Permissions Manager.

Now I have Permissions Manager. What's next?

The installation was extremely simple, now you need to learn how to use it. The first thing that you will see is a list of applications and 4 tabs: Location, Personal, Messaging, Device. This allows you to sort your applications by their assigned access rights. If you download Google Hangouts, this app will fall under the Messaging category, the camera app will most likely be under Device.

From here, you can select any application from the list. After selecting an application, you will see in front of you a list of all available permissions for it and a switch that turns it on or off. If you turn off any permission, the app continues to work anyway.

The last thing I would like to mention is that the Permissions Manager does not immediately see all available rights and permissions. For example, “camera” and “call history” are not visible until you export your contacts to Facebook. Also remember that the Permissions Manager is still crude, so be prepared for the fact that disabling some of the rights may entail any reaction.
