It receives over 130 flights weekly, connecting the resort with the rest of Thailand's provinces. The access system is so well established that there are never crowds of tourists here, and the infrastructure ensures a comfortable stay of passengers on the territory of the terminals.
Chiang Mai Airport is the largest in northern Thailand and the third busiest in the entire country. It serves both civilian and military aircraft. Geographically, it is three kilometers away from the Old City and has excellent transport links with Chiang Mai. All aircraft take off and land from the same runway. Its length is 3.1 thousand meters.
Its only building houses two terminals serving domestic and international flights. On the ground floor there are check-in desks and the arrivals area. The airport infrastructure is developed at the highest level. There are branded restaurants and shops on its territory. There you can buy quality coffee, silk, food, souvenirs, including handicrafts. In the departure area there is a bookstore, a medical center, as well as several additional cafes and souvenir shops.
There is a large car park in front of the terminal building. The cost of using is 10 baht / hour.

The airport works with flights, both domestic and neighboring countries. Best of all, there is an air connection with Bangkok, planes fly several times a day. Most of the flights are operated by Thai Airways. The airline operates flights throughout the day, and in the high season, their number increases dramatically.
From Chiang Mai, you can fly to Phuket, Koh Samui, Bangkok and other cities in Thailand. Popular international destinations include Malaysia, China, Hong Kong, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan and Laos.

How to get to the center of Chiang Mai?

They charge a flat rate of 120 baht regardless of the hotel. If you use this taxi for a return trip, the price will be slightly cheaper.
There is a parking lot in front of the terminal building, within which there are taxis from other companies. They are metered and usually cost 150 baht to get to the hotel. When ordering a car via the Internet, you can always independently choose the type of car for yourself and order additional services, including the presence of a car seat for a child.
There, in the parking lot, you can use the services of a songteo or a tuk-tuk. They are sent after filling. The fare in the first option costs 50 baht, in the second - 100. But if you wish, you can rent such a transport exclusively for yourself, then it will take you directly to the hotel, but the cost will also be higher.
Previously, a bus service was established between the airport and the city, but at the moment it has been canceled. When booking a hotel, you can always order a transfer from the hotel. Some of them even offer it completely free of charge. When leaving the airport, you will be met by a driver with a sign, who will escort you to the car. If you use a paid transfer, pay attention to its cost, as sometimes it is higher than for a taxi.

In order to get from the city to the airport, you can use any of the above types of transport. If you opt for a songteo, then get into the red cars, they are the ones that run in the right direction.
Tuk-tuk are everywhere, you can approach the driver and arrange a trip. Do not forget to negotiate the cost right away.

How to get to Chiang Mai airport
