If the phone is android with two sims. SIM Manager, Samsung Mobile Networks Dual SIM Active Mode

You can’t forcefully drag a person who is not wise with the experience of communicating with modern technology into the settings section of your smartphone. This approach sometimes leads to embarrassment, and a gadget that has not been told exactly how to behave begins to live its own life. One notable example is a dual-SIM smartphone that people use together to optimize their mobile phone bills. However, such optimization will be of no use if the smartphone does not receive precise instructions from you when and which SIM card to use.

It is easier with calls and SMS: most smartphones, when trying to make a call or send a message, ask each time which SIM card under which number you need to use. The main thing here is to initially know your SIM cards "by sight" and understand which one is the first, which is the second. In extreme cases, this point can be clarified in the settings, in the "SIM card management" section.

There you can see which operator each of the cards is served by.

If the operator is the same, as in our example, you will have to deal with the numbers. Each operator has its own possibilities for specifying the number corresponding to the SIM card. In MTS, you can call the short number 0887 from the desired SIM card: the number will be dictated by an answering machine. This call is free.

Going online

The situation is more complicated on your smartphone with two SIM cards with mobile Internet. If you open a social networking app or browser, your gadget, without asking you anything, simply connects to the Internet using the specified settings, and possibly through the wrong SIM card. That is why it is important to be able to change the settings.

In the screenshot above, find the "Data transfer by default" option. You can see that the data connection (i.e. mobile internet) is set to the second SIM card. At the very top of the screenshot, you can see that for each of the SIM cards, the types of cellular networks that can be used are listed. In particular, any network is available to the first SIM card, including the fastest, 4G. The second card is only “capable” of 2G, and therefore only suitable for calls and extremely slow mobile Internet. Obviously, you should change the settings by switching the Internet to the first SIM card, like this:

We climb under the hood

There is an important nuance: the availability of modern cellular networks often depends not on the SIM card and the completeness of the coverage of operator networks, but on how you placed the SIM cards in your gadget. The fact is that in many phone models, only one of the two slots for SIM-cards can provide connection to 3G and 4G networks. At the same time, the second slot has limited functionality and is "friends" exclusively with 2G and calls. Just from such a smartphone, we took our screenshots.

If you mixed up the slots and the SIM card for mobile Internet is in the wrong place, you will have to swap the cards. In some smartphone models, during this procedure, you will encounter another problem: sometimes the slots are designed for SIM cards of different sizes. To resolve this scourge, the SIM card can be replaced while keeping the number at the operator's office, telling his employee what size card you need. As a rule, the procedure for replacing the SIM card will cost you nothing.

the article helped me a lot Samsung Galaxy Grand Neo GT-I9060 Duos White smartphone for a long time could not change mobile data from one SIM card to another

Replacing the Samsung Galaxy S4 SIM card is a task that seems difficult and overwhelming, given the new MicroSIM standard used in phones of this model. Users who are used to solving communication problems by rearranging the SIM card, as well as retrogrades who change the operator or phone number by purchasing a completely different card, are confused when faced with this problem. We will teach you how to remove and insert a Samsung C4 SIM card at home.

Instruction

This guide consists of five steps. You will need a special plastic spatula, long nails or some kind of comfortable and soft thin object with which you can pry some details.

Step 1: Pry off the left edge of the Samsung C4 back cover with your fingernail or spatula. A special connector for this is located at the level of the main camera and the power control button.

Step 2: Insert a plastic spatula into the gap that has now formed and move it from left to right, opening the latches in sequence (these latches are located around the entire perimeter of the inside of the phone case). At the moment when the back cover has completely moved away from the case, remove it and set it aside.

Step 3: After removing the back cover, be sure to remove the memory card from a special slot located directly under the main camera of the device:

  • Gently press down on the edge of the memory card until you hear a click.
  • Remove the spatula or finger from the card - a click preceded the automatic ejection of the memory card with its locking tray.
  • Once this has happened, remove the memory card and carefully place it in a place where it will not get lost.
  • When assembling the Samsung S4, insert it in reverse order.

Step 4: Pry off the phone's battery, remove it and set it aside.

Step 5: To remove the Samsung Galaxy S4 SIM card, push it inward, as you did with a memory card:

  1. You need to press it gently and until a click is familiar to us.
  2. When you hear a click, release the holder so that it can automatically pull the tray out of the slot.
  3. When the SIM card tray has appeared completely, it's time to remove the SIM card from it.
  4. Now you can insert another card into the slot and put the phone back together.

As you can see, MicroSIM is no more difficult to handle than the most ordinary SIM - there was nothing to be afraid of!

Many modern smartphones support 2 SIM cards. After you have inserted SIM cards into your phone for the first time, I advise you to set up each SIM card through the SIM card manager. This is necessary for proper operation and to avoid confusion - through which SIM card to call and access the Internet.

Settings, priority sim card

For work go to Settings - Connections - SIM card manager.

Before us are 2 active SIM cards. You need to choose a priority SIM card for calls, SMS and the Internet. Usually, sim number 1 is always set by default (in my example, this is Megafon). To change the settings, select "Calls", "SMS", "Mobile data" and select the desired SIM card.

SIM card settings

Each SIM has its own settings in the manager: Enabled/Disabled, icon for identification (SMS, Internet, work, home, sim 1, sim 2), network name and mode. I do not recommend changing the settings if you do not understand them.

Optimal settings:

Call settings

Above, we have chosen a priority SIM for calls. In the “Call Settings” menu, we are asked: should we offer each time the choice of a SIM card for making an outgoing call if a priority SIM card is not used? The option is useful for the forgetful, when you constantly confuse the SIM card with which you are calling. Personally, I do not use this function and consider it superfluous.

Active Mode

When you turn on the active mode here (in the settings of the sim card manager), you can receive calls to both SIM cards even during a call. The feature is useful and enabled by default.

Mobile networks

Setting up a mobile network for each SIM card is easy. Settings - Connections - Mobile networks(the option is not available without an inserted SIM card).
