How to remove apps from MIUI. How to uninstall system apps on Xiaomi without root Removing miui apps

Hello!

A small article that describes the easiest way to uninstall pre-installed apps from Google and Xiaomi on your Chinese smartphone.

Tools
- adb driver, the default one from the Android SDK can be used (with the corrected device info), or install the native one when installing the MIUI ROM Flashing Tool (http://api.en.miui.com/url/MiFlashTool) (46 MB);
- third party utility XiaomiADB / Fastboot Tools v2.3.1.0(https://github.com/Saki-EU/XiaomiADBFastbootTools-Win32/releases) (I haven't got new ones in Java, but you can try).

We clean the system
1. We get the developer mode on your device (google), then go to Settings / Advanced settings / For developers and turn on three levers:
- USB debugging,
- Installation via USB,
- USB debugging (Security settings).

2. We install the driver, connect the smartphone so that the OS detects the device. Then we disconnect the cable.
3. Run the XiaomiADB program on behalf of the Administrator, connect the smart, press the button Debloater... Next, we watch the request on the smartphone screen for permission to install / uninstall applications / access the system.

4. A list of system programs appears, including preinstalled ones. I marked only those that I do not need.

5. Zhmakaym Uninstall! and wait for the word Done in the log window! ...

Please note: those programs that were previously uninstalled will still be displayed in the list, but they will not be on the device, which will be reported by the utility with the code Failure - not installed for 0. Probably, in the new versions of the utility this was fixed, I did not check it.
6. Press the button Reboot into System, we are waiting for the android logo to appear at the bottom of the screen and disconnect the cable.

Ready! The smartphone is cleaned.

MIUI is a proprietary shell for current versions of Android. After installing some updates, some users had problems with the work of standard options, since their location in the device's system has changed. Among the common questions asked by owners is how to remove apps from MIUI 8.0.

There are several basic ways to do this.

  • Via Google Play. If you downloaded the program using a preinstalled service, then there should be no significant problems with its removal. To do this, go to the application store and enter the software you need to eliminate in the search. Then select it from the proposed options and click on the "delete" command. Then the Play Market will complete the procedure on its own without leaving any additional files;
  • With the help of third-party software. The next method involves using the Ccleaner program, which is necessary to clear the smartphone's memory from unnecessary garbage. Install it through the application store or other Internet resource, then go to the menu, mark the unnecessary software and delete;
  • Built-in functions. The latter method does not involve any advanced actions or downloaded programs. In the MIUI 8 version, the uninstallation point is localized in the same place as in the usual design of the Android operating system. To complete the procedure, go to the phone settings and select the "Applications" section. In the window that opens, you need to find the application you need, and then click on it and press the "delete data" command. When finished, you can also use the "delete" option.

Outcome

Despite the significant differences between the new version of MIUI from previous modifications, the developer has made a bias towards a logical and intuitive interface in order to minimize the number of difficulties. Therefore, if the user has experience, there should be no problems when uninstalling applications. If the task is to eliminate a number of programs, then you should perform the procedure yourself for each of them, or mark all the necessary options in the Ccleaner service and select the appropriate actions.

The project site notes that if the program is systemic, then it will not be possible to remove it using these methods. To do this, you must have superuser rights, which can be purchased while maintaining the warranty of the manufacturer of your smartphone.

Since the MIUI shell on Xiaomi smartphones is a redesigned Android, google services are installed in it by default. Not everyone needs them, since the Chinese company has its own counterparts (take at least a cloud), plus, when you deactivate unnecessary programs, the autonomy of the smartphone significantly increases. There are two simple ways to disable Google services that do not require Root rights:

Method N1 - Application Management

The irony is that to disable Google services, you first have to use them. Install "Application Management" in Google Play and launch it. Next, select the one you want and click "Disable" (in some cases, "Delete")

Method number 2 - QuickShortcutMaker

Download QuickShortcutMaker, launch it and see a list of programs. It is better to use the search here, writing "all applications". As a result of the search, you need to find the item SettingsAll AppsAllApplicationsActivity(see screenshot below)

In the new window we are interested in the item "View"

The same list of programs will open as in Method # 1, where you can Disable / Remove unnecessary ones. In order not to go through the lengthy search procedure each time, you can click on the "Create" button - as a result, a settings shortcut will appear on the desktop, which will immediately open the desired window.

An important point. In the first screenshot, on the lower right side, you can see the "More" item, it contains the "Delete updates" line. When you uninstall updates, the app will still work. Moreover, when connected to the Internet, it will be updated, so only disconnecting can help.

Below is a list of those programs that you can remove without risking damage to the system, as well as a brief description of them and a note whether they affect the speed of the system.

Root rights are required to uninstall system applications.

  • BugReport... Submits error reports. Affects the speed of the device.
  • CloudPrint... Virtual printer application. Does not affect speed.
  • Email... A perfectly acceptable email client from Xiaomi. If you use it, then there is simply no point in deleting it. Well, if you are using a third-party email client, then feel free to delete.
  • Fasdormancy... This feature is only available for certain European and Asian mobile operators. Read about it on the Internet and check if your mobile operator supports it. No - delete. Affects speed.
  • FingerprintService... The second branded virtual printer from Xiaomi. Does not affect speed.
  • MiLinkService... A very useful application from Xiaomi that allows devices on MIUI to exchange files with each other. If you don't use it, delete it. Does not affect speed.
  • PrintSpooler... Specialty stamps used with virtual printers. Does not affect speed.
  • QuikSearchBox... Branded search from Xiaomi, which opens by swiping down from the top of the screen. There is a bit of a curve in use, so you can remove it. Does not affect speed.
  • StepsProvider... Add-on to the pedometer app. Affects speed.
  • Stk... Service menu from a mobile operator. If your operator does not support this function, you can delete it. Affects speed.
  • Updater... Allows you to update the firmware, and very often gets bored with its reminders. Feel free to delete. Doesn't affect the speed, but rather the usability of the smartphone.
  • Whetstone... Submitting error reports that relate to processor performance. Quite often the application "wakes up" the smartphone - we can safely delete it. Affects speed.

Some standard programs that can also be removed are located in the directory system / priv-app... We go there and look:

  • Browser... The official Xiaomi browser. Contains too much "Chinese" - you can delete and put an alternative. Does not affect speed.
  • Viset... Russian browser, which is available only in some firmware. If you also have it installed, it is better not to delete it, since it is completely Russified, has a lot of settings and works pretty quickly. Does not affect speed.
  • CellBroadcastReceiver... Alert for emergencies that are most common in Asia. Affects speed.
  • GoogleFeedBack... Official Google reviews. Affects speed.
  • Shell... An integral part of the MIUI operating system, which contains data about the operation of the shell (errors, reports, etc.), and then sends them to some server. You can delete. Affects speed.
  • YellowPage... Yellow Pages program. Shows data about your corporate accounts. Affects speed.
  • Weather... Weather forecast server. Quite a good program, the interface is pleasant, there are a lot of settings. For an amateur. Does not affect speed.
