Shopping list for iphone app. How to Delete Reminders on iPhone and iPad

Every iPhone has Reminders and Siri (starting with 4s), two powerful tools that get even better when they work together. Shopping lists are the simplest and most daily routine that we all face. iPhone owners are luckier than most because Reminders and Siri can make shopping so much easier. In this note, I will tell and show you how you can implement this.

How to create a shopping list in Reminders and add groceries to it using Siri

Open Reminders on your iPhone or iPad. Click + at the top of the screen to create a new list.

Give your list a name and choose a title color, then click Ready.

Press and hold the button Home to call Siri. Say something like "Add milk to my shopping list" (or any other product, but of course in English).

Click the button Confirm or just say OK.

That's all you need to do to add a new element to the list. Agree, this is much faster than taking your iPhone out of your pocket, unlocking it, opening Reminders and manually entering the name of the product. Yes, there is a minus in the form of using only English, if you are not “friends” with it. Let's hope that this will change soon and Siri will speak Russian, well, or faster in English :)

How to share a list with other users

Open iCloud in any browser and log in to your Apple ID.

Click on the Reminders icon and open them.

Click on the sharing icon next to the list you want to share, in our case it is the Shopping list.

It's all. The user will receive your invitation and immediately after confirmation, a new list will appear in his reminders. With these simple tricks, you can ease the daily routine associated with shopping.

Perhaps, during a trip to the store, many people have a question about how not to forget to buy everything they need, and at the same time not to collect unnecessary goods. To be on the safe side, we write lists for ourselves on pieces of paper, and then diligently check them in the store. But it often happens that we forget to write down something or we have nothing to cross off already purchased goods, and then it becomes not so easy to navigate in a long list.

Fortunately, developers have created many applications for smartphones that allow you to record the necessary purchases. These programs, running on Android and iOS platforms, save us from having to keep everything in our heads. In addition, they do not let you lose sight of this or that product, because all of them are already included in the phone database, and we just have to choose the ones we need.

I usually write about photography, music, and communication apps, but today we're talking about a trip to the store. Or, to be more precise, about shopping lists.

I must say right away that until recently, this topic was alien to me. Usually, when I “raided” stores of various kinds, I did without such lists, because I remembered the “necessities” that were absent in the household, and I bought everything else based on my momentary need, desire or idea. By and large, I decided what to buy right in the store. This purchase option did not bother me in the least, since I know well what a budget is, and I won’t buy anything extra. Yes, and I usually do not buy much at a time, preferring to go to the store every day and take exactly one time. This is a perennial habit of a pseudo-fresh product.

But it so happened that for the last 2 months, I was very limited in movement, so I remembered a long-forgotten method of shopping - ordering through online stores. And here, whatever one may say, little by little and often it is inconvenient to buy, and not profitable. That's when shopping lists came to me, planning ahead and e.t.c., e.t.c., e.t.c, ...

As a result, after 5-6 weeks of training, they formed a certain habit. This is probably why, while looking through the sales in AppZapp, my eyes settled on Shopping To-Do Pro.

What I noted in it is interesting:

  1. It is easy and convenient to create shopping lists that are visually displayed on the desktop of the program, showing the first names of the list.
  2. Possibility of calculation of the planned purchase. You can set the cost of the item per piece / kg, including an incomplete unit (0.5 kg or something similar), immediately receiving the cost of a particular purchase, as well as the total amount of the entire list. For a paper worm like me, who is used to a planned economy, this is a huge plus for the application. And I also note that the list has not only total, but also a subtotal.
  3. When one of the items is purchased, we remove it from the list by checking the box. At the same time, a pencil flies out with a nice animation and crosses out the position. And the subtotal becomes less by the amount of the purchase. Again, a plus for clarity from lovers of the language of numbers.
  4. The presence of a reminder function. Something also from the category of planning. You can set the exact day + time, and the application will remind you of itself with a pop-up window and sound. For me, this feature is almost useless, but the presence of reminders is not superfluous.
  5. Well, the last plus is just a great design. Successful stylization of a shabby notebook, nice animation. All together causes (for me) the subconscious pleasure of working with this application.

But there is something that upset:

  1. Lack of any synchronization. This is very bad. Thus, I cannot put the application on two (or more) different devices and coordinate my purchases with someone from my relatives or friends. There is not even an elementary possibility to send the list by e-mail. A kind of application in itself, for a very lonely person or a misanthrope. Although a closed user would probably like to be able to synchronize at least with his computer.
  2. There are absolutely no settings. Looking into the settings you will find only a small window for entering the tax. In our penates, the thing is useless.

That's actually all. At the moment, the application is distributed free of charge, but during the normal period, its price is only $0.99.

However, having decided to look for something alternative to Shopping To-Do Pro, I went through several paid and free applications and I liked ShopShop - Shopping List

What's good about it:

  1. Unlike Shoping To-Do, in ShopShop we have good synchronization options: via dropbox, as well as sending a list by e-mail and sms. Plus, the list can be sent to a printer. And what is convenient: if some positions are already “crossed out from the list”, in the sent message, they will be “ticked” opposite them.
  2. Purchased items are crossed out with a flick of a finger or a tap. After that, they can be cleaned from the list by shaking the iPhone (set in the settings)
  3. Decent, for such an application, settings (again, in the reproach of Shopping To-Do), where you can set auto-lock, enable or disable synchronization, font size, number of saved entries and other minor needs.
  4. Shopping lists are implemented as iPhone desktops, flipped through in the traditional way for the device. Each list can be given a personal name and color.
  5. Availability of the Russian version

Well, now a little about the cons of the application:

  1. There is no possibility to enter a price for a position, and accordingly there is no amount. So the list is just a normal list, no calculation.
  2. Office design, flat, boring. Although everything is organized clearly, simply and conveniently, it is somehow sad for me to use it.

I compared two shopping list apps. In fact, there are dozens of such applications. About some (such as "Buy a loaf" and "Shopping") they wrote and talked a lot. We all (including me) still do not know about some. But even judging by these two, we see a variety of functionality and appearance, a choice for every taste. There is imperfection in both.

Well, as always, the choice is yours.
