Hello, the insulation near the L-connector peeled off, I decided to rewire it - I crushed the LED and broke off a piece of the board when I tried to remove it. The Mac worked from the mains, but stopped charging the battery. I ordered a new cord with an L-connector, while I was waiting for the cord, the battery was discharged to 1-2%. I managed to turn off the Mac as usual.
I re-soldered a new cord, plugged it in, the Mac does not start. I installed the battery - it started. But! The indicator on the L-connector is OFF! (neither green nor orange) sinned on a Chinese counterfeit, I thought there was no LED at all. The Mac is running on mains, sees the battery BUT does not charge. With the Mac running, I pulled out the battery, worked from the mains for a while, then hooked and pulled out the plug. The Mac passed out and then stopped starting with or without a battery. Read that resetting the SMC can fix the startup problem. But when resetting, the Mac does not react in any way, the indicators are silent, it still does not start.
Since the battery was inflated, and then there was a full discharge - I ordered a new A1281. PRAM / NVRAM reset after forced start * (no battery). Also, not any changes.
* (Disconnect MagSafe, hold Power for 5 seconds. Without releasing connect MagSafe, hold Power for another 5 seconds, release, wait a couple of seconds, launch Mac). The Mac was forced to start, but with all the problems that arise when you need to reset the SMC (Indicators-Fans-Lighting-Power).
A new battery arrived: the Mac started from it forcibly *, but writes: There is no battery Power source: battery. (B-rr-rrrr)
I took a Mac (without battery), charging and went to a neighboring city, found an Apple point. The seller turned out to have Air with 60w, connected it Magsafe to mine - the indicator turned green, but after 10 seconds it dimmed and soon went out completely (what the hell - I think that's it! I burned the guy with MagSafe), connected it back to my Air - it works. My Mac did not start with lack of power. They took my 85w with a soldered new cord - L-con. Inserted into Air - lit up green !!! Hooray! The cord is still working. I put it in my back and no reaction.
Results: I replaced the cord with the L-connector, bought a new battery.
Mac starts only forcibly, SMC is not reset. The LED on the plug does not light up. On the battery charge indicator, the 6th indicator is constantly shining, which is from the network - which is from the battery. I checked that power is supplied to the MagSafe board and from it to the Motherboard in full. All contacts are called. Maybe there is some kind of diagnostics that can still be done at home besides (D-at startup), everything is clean there.

Directory service
The dscl utility - Directory Services Command Line is responsible for communicating with the directory service; it replaced netinfo. Has it smelled of sysadmin tricks? So it is, and we will not dwell on them in detail.
To seed a couple of commands: dscl. -list / Users will list all users, and dscl. -read / Users /<имя пользователя>- information about the user in the form of XML. Even a file with an avatar is encoded inside!
By the way, if you run dscl without parameters, it will enter interactive mode, where you can use the familiar cd and ls commands to navigate, and view the contents of the branches with the read command.
Directory Services caches and user list

Flushing the disk cache in memory
The purge command helps to temporarily get a couple of extra gigabytes of RAM. It is called from root, has no parameters and resets the disk cache, bringing it to the state in which it was after the OS was loaded. But usually the memory manager does not need such help - he himself will gradually unload the excess if the RAM runs out.
The help says that purge is generally needed mainly for testing, but who knows how life will turn out?
Tracking accesses to the file system
The fs_usage command, run without parameters from root, displays a record of each access to the file system. This is necessary in cases where a program crashes on startup or produces cryptic error messages. If the problem is that one of the files is damaged, then you can find it with fs_usage.
In order to have less digging through the output, limit messages to one process by writing its name after fs_usage. If you only know the ID, enter sudo fs_usage pid.
Another useful parameter is -f, after which you can specify a filter for network operations (-f network), with files (-f pathname will add a column with the path), and so on. If the text does not fit into the line, add -w.
