Htc one x screen resolution. HTC One X: specifications, reviews, prices, description

What did not like

I have not revealed any shortcomings so far !!! I advise everyone to take it in this store, they call back within 15-20 minutes, the order is made without registration in one click ... beauty !!!

What did you like

I bought X + Htc the other day, the phone is excellent, it’s powerful and rushing. At the expense of the store, I liked everything, promptly without any extra options. Polite !!!

What did not like

Here they are! I am extremely disappointed with HTC, no matter what anyone writes and says, but what I saw in this phone blew me away. Mistakes in translation! Look at battery usage by applications: application power consumption, Call power consumption....... WHAT IS IT?)))) For a phone at such a price, there are typos, you’ll excuse me. The phone has a lot of advantages. It’s beautiful, it has a lot of technical innovations, I liked the camera. It’s excellent. The battery is weak. I would have liked more, but okay, considering how I discharged it and didn’t let go of it. BUT! These typos in the translation killed me. The phone changed. I took the money, I didn’t take the exchange, because it’s the same in other phones. this suggests all sorts of thoughts where these phones were made? I'm what is written on the box Taiwan, I can write a lot on paper too. In general, like this. See for yourself. I'm disappointed! I'll wait for Samsung s4.

Better about the shortcomings!

What did not like

The main function of the phone is so that you can call, no problem, and you can get through without problems, that's just they can't get through to me, the phone is unavailable, I check it myself, I call myself it is, but for some reason, SMS that they could not get through comes immediately after an unsuccessful call. (correction - I found out after half a year, the cause of the dial-up problem, the megaphone SIM card is not compatible with this phone, I changed the SIM cards three times, but the other megaphone SIM card (another number) works fine, the megaphone is a bugger ...

What did you like

In principle, I like everything except the main function.

What did not like

The menu is a complete mess, you can’t arrange everything beautifully, you can create folders ONLY on the desktop. It's not very convenient to adjust the settings.

What did you like

NTS One x+ 64 gb black-Beautiful designer phone...

What did not like

you can’t get the battery / don’t change it (if htc starts to warm up, then everything is gone, and their circuits are very small and inconvenient to repair), don’t insert a USB flash drive.

What did you like

processor is great! um... and that's it...

What did not like

As soon as I started working with heavy programs, I concluded and did not turn off and the battery could not be pulled out and waited until it was discharged.

What did you like

Big, gorilla eye, memory and all that...

What did not like

The battery and sensor lasted for a year and a half .. replacing the battery and the screen costs half the cost of the phone ... if you put the screen not the original, it scratches and the clarity is worse than in the original ...

What did you like

fast processor...

What did not like

non-removable battery, no memory card, very hot,

What did you like

Stylish, thoughtful design; Large screen; 64 GB memory

What did not like

Not very comfortable.
Several times a day, a crazy bug with a "missing" SIM card.
When playing games, the battery is completely discharged in no longer than an hour.

What did you like

What did not like

Why do you need a second camera when there is no video call !? No fm transmitter. No background apps running. No bluetooth printing. In general, because of the above, this is an ordinary smart, and not a flagship.

What did you like

Easy. Comfortable plastic, does not slip in the hand. Very good screen color reproduction. Real HD

What did not like

The disadvantages include a blue spot on the screen from the charging side, a little lower, it is especially clearly visible on a white screen, less on others. I thought it would disappear, but unlucky, it remained.

What did you like

Cool phone, before that there was a Sony xperia s and disaer xd, the X + battery keeps calm for two days. But with disaer xd there are no special differences, maybe I got a good one, it didn’t buggy, it didn’t hang, whoever comes over in three days will support me. Disyer looks richer, tactile sensations are better. I bought a Rostest in an online store, it came from Taiwan, I think it’s not worth overpaying, but you can’t choose in my outback.

What did not like

It is heated - it is YES. The camera failed on one side slightly, if you press it, you can see the backlash. The scratches on the bulging camera went away by themselves. There are traces on the case, although I wouldn’t worry if they appeared .... I don’t remember after what time specifically (after about 3 months) a GLUK appeared: when the Internet tab disappears (next to the battery charge), communication and access to Internet, although the connection label is lit normally, I go into the settings and write down that the connection is in progress, in short, not ice, and this happens several times during the day and only a reboot helps or time passes (but not 5 minutes :-(and you understand the money). during the day, and not within the strict framework of use, especially when Wi-Fi is on ....

It's no secret that HTC's financials aren't doing well. Although it would seem that many interesting ideas were introduced, quite successful “tubes” were launched on the market, cooperation with Beats Audio flourished. However, the facts remain, sales as of early 2012 left much to be desired, and HTC is forced to take some serious steps to restore its previously successful mobile business. One of these steps was a clear division of smartphones into families. With a flagship representative HTC One- We will get acquainted with the phone in this review.

So, HTC One X should help restore the consumer's loyalty and trust to the electronic giant. Or, on the contrary, be a complete disappointment. Looking ahead, let's say that HTC fans should not worry - at least the smartphone does not disappoint. As already mentioned, HTC now divides phones into families, each of which includes devices released in approximately the same period, united by a common name. HTC One is a line of smartphones in the price range above the average.

On the right side is the volume rocker. At the top, there is a power on/off button, a jack for standard 3.5mm headphones or a headset, and an additional microphone hole, which is used for noise reduction. The hole for the main conversational microphone is located at the bottom of the phone. There is no HDMI connector, but its functions can be taken over by a microUSB connector with MHL support, Mobile High-definition Link. This option allows you to output an image in Full HD and eight-channel sound to a monitor or TV with HDMI through a special adapter. On the back of the device also flaunts the lens of the built-in camera, which has an aluminum edging and is slightly raised above the rear cover itself. The shapes of the device are slightly rounded, but the roundings are cut off by sudden right angles. Due to the slight curves at the top and bottom of the hull, it looks slightly like a boat from the side. It’s nice to hold a smartphone in your hands, but it would be strange if it were otherwise. However, the notorious iPhone is still more pleasant to hold. Probably, the fact that Apple first came up with the body and design of the device, and then selected the appropriate “stuffing”, while HTC engineers went the opposite way, is affecting. The dimensions of the device are 134.4x69.9x8.9 millimeters with a weight of 130 grams, so bulky smartphone you can't call it with all your will.

The screen produces only pleasant impressions. Its diagonal is 4.68 inches, with dimensions of 10.4x5.8 centimeters. The matrix is made using SuperLCD2 technology. The resolution is 1280x720 pixels, but the grain is quite large and, if desired, individual points can be seen. Viewing angles, margin of brightness and color reproduction - all at the highest level. You can argue for a long time about the advantages or disadvantages of SuperLCD2 over Super AMOLED HD. Some argue that the last color is more "alive", others - that they are so "alive" that they seem unnatural. The only indisputable advantage of OLED matrix technology is the natural black color. For the rest, you should trust only your own eyes, and it is very likely that you will like the SuperLCD2 display, and not the Super AMOLED matrix, despite all the technical and technological advantages painted many times over. The sensor is capacitive, with multitouch support, but here lies one interesting feature - for some incomprehensible banal logic, the recognition of only two simultaneous touches is enabled by default. But let this not mislead you - in the options you can "restore justice", because the sensor is not cheap two years ago, and return the multi-finger multitouch. The screen is covered with the famous glass from Corning - Gorilla Glass 2. I was pleasantly surprised by the automatic brightness control, which works well and quickly.

Hardware "stuffing" is very, very impressive. Judge for yourself - platform NVIDIA Tegra 3, with a quad-core ARM Cortex-A9 architecture processor running at 1.4GHz, plus a fifth auxiliary core for lighter power-saving tasks. Video core - GeForce ULP. Volume random access memory– 1 GB, and the built-in storage capacity is 32 GB. We can safely say that this is one of the most productive smartphones on the market. Synthetic tests only confirm this. Quadrant Standard has an impressive 4635 points. In SunSpider 0.9.1 - 1929.8 ms, however, due to the loss of relevance, this benchmark is gradually becoming a thing of the past. In SuperPi, when counting 512,000 decimal places, the result was 267.202 seconds. In the complex benchmark AnTuTu Benchmark, the smartphone scored 10043 points. Often HTC One X far ahead of flagship devices from other manufacturers.

This new product from NTS runs on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system. User interface replaced by proprietary shell HTC Sense 4.0. The company continues to promote the proprietary shell and installs it on all new devices. The differences are in a slightly different organization of desktops, a modified form of icons, and so on. Some changes are really pleasing to the eye, others, on the contrary, are controversial - for example, the browser icon is corny hard to find. The 3D mode of viewing the last running applications, made in the spirit of Cover Flow on iOS, looks beautiful and informative. In horizontal mode, however, the thumbnails are located "on the side". Apart from standard applications Android 4.0, some other programs are also preinstalled, for example, a fairly functional Polaris Office office suite, applications for listening to FM radio and Internet radio, and others useful utilities, like "Task Manager", which is great for freeing up RAM. Curious can be called the application "In the car", which is designed for easy use in the car, and provides for larger icons and a redesigned interface. In general, the pre-installed software is not unique, you can freely download it yourself, but I'm glad that the manufacturer is trying to minimize the user's troubles.

cameras in novelty, as usual, two. The front one is designed for video calls, has a resolution of 1.3 megapixels and does not stand out in any way. But the rear, the main camera deserves special mention. The resolution of the main camera is 8 megapixels, there is autofocus and LED flash. The characteristics of the camera are very, very high level, quite in line with the price of the device. The photo quality is excellent for a smartphone, it is quite possible to send two-three-year-old digital compacts to a well-deserved rest. There are also some useful additional features, which are often forgotten by other manufacturers. For example, continuous shooting - by holding down the shutter button, you can quickly take a whole series of shots and choose the best one. Normal shooting itself is also quite fast. Photos are not overloaded with digital noise. Of course, the phone can easily cope with capturing documents or other texts. There is also a digital zoom and a number of additional effects. Video is recorded in resolutions up to 1920x1080 pixels, and it also turns out to be of very high quality.

gadget capable of operating in GSM/EDGE 850/900/1800/1900 MHz and UMTS/HSDPA 900/2100 MHz networks. Supported WiFi standards a/b/g/n and Bluetooth 4.0 with A2DP profile. There is support for A-GPS navigation and FM radio.
NVIDIA Tegra 3 is billed as a power efficient platform, not least thanks to the additional fifth processor core. However, the app does not last much longer than other Android devices. Non-removable lithium-ion battery capacity battery is only 1800 mAh. So, with an average intensity of use, you will have to recharge the phone every day, if you wish, of course, you can stretch the battery charge for two days, but you will have to turn off the wireless interfaces. When watching a 720p video Smart“lives” for about 4 hours. When the processor is fully loaded, the battery lasts for a modest 2 hours. Alas, with this Android phone, it is still undesirable to go far from the outlet if you want to use all the functions in full.

What happened to HTC in the end? Large smartphone with advanced hardware, excellent screen and camera, good design and modest time battery life. Most likely, the device will be more interesting for men than women. Likely to be popular this phone will be moderate - nevertheless, the price tag is not the most democratic, from a practical point of view, it is better to choose “simpler” devices. But if the choice is made from the best that is available on the market - why not, if you are not confused by the shortcomings voiced above.
If you still have questions, you can watch the video review of the phone HTC One X:

Introduction

Not so long ago appeared in Russia new smartphone HTC called One X10. In general, the device received the usual technical characteristics of most devices in the price range of 10,000 - 20,000 rubles: Helio P10 chipset, 3 GB of RAM, a 5.5-inch FullHD screen. Of the pleasant things - a 4000 mAh battery, a good 16 MP camera, a high-quality display matrix. From the interesting: the body was painted by the diffusion method, that is, the penetration of paint molecules deep into the metal itself to a given depth; the paint becomes part of the metal surface which provides resistance to scratches and other damage.

At the moment, the HTC One X10 smartphone costs from 17,000 rubles. The price for such a gadget, given the certification, is quite reasonable, but there are many competitors.

Design, dimensions, controls

With the appearance of One X10, again, as in the case of U Play, a slight lag: a typical solution of the last few years is a metal back cover with two plastic inserts on top and bottom, front panel with 2.5D effect. However, despite this, the smartphone looks quite brutal, strict and concise, that is, without frills and spills - a classic male phone weighing 175 grams to feel something dense and tightly assembled in the hand. The thin metal edging has a glossy finish, the bezel near the camera lens is decorated in the same way.

Back panel matte, the side faces have a light trapezoidal shape, so the gadget lies perfectly in the hand, the thumb evenly falls on the power button with a relief structure.

In terms of design and appearance, the HTC X10 makes a good impression.

The screen is protected by 3rd generation Corning Gorilla Glass. For a couple of weeks of active "yuza", there were no scratches or chips left. The oleophobic coating is of good quality, the finger glides easily, the prints are erased quickly and without problems.

I wrote about painting the hull in the introduction. The diffusion method is used. Wore X10 with others metal devices- nothing bad happened. Moreover, I specifically tried to scratch the lid: if you do not apply force, then everything is fine. Nearby lay Honor 8 Pro, painted in blue, and now it didn’t go well: after lightly touching the rear panel with a sharp object, a scratch appeared.

I can’t say anything positive or negative about the dimensions of 153x75x8.2 mm - the typical dimensions of a 5.5-inch smartphone.

On the top of the front panel are: front camera, indicator of missed events, light sensors (reacts somewhat abruptly and with a slight delay) and proximity, speech speaker. The speaker is loud, it sounds clear, the sound is pleasant.

Below the display are Android buttons. There is a backlight.

At the bottom: microphone, microUSB (why not Type-C - I can’t understand), speaker grille speakerphone. On the left is a metal lot with a typical solution: either two nano SIM cards, or a SIM card and a memory card. On the right is the power button and a long volume rocker. Pleasant to the touch, soft pressing.

3.5 mm jack and second microphone on top. On the reverse side is the camera module (a millimeter rises above the body), a dual LED flash and a fingerprint scanner.

There are questions about the latter. By itself, the sensor works fine, but it reacts to touch (even if recognition is turned off) by activating the backlight. As a result, when you take the phone in your hand, you automatically try to press the power button with your thumb to activate the backlight, but at the same moment you accidentally touch the scanner with your fingers. In this case, the backlight is activated and immediately blocked by the power button. Very uncomfortable.

Display

New company HTC received a diagonal of 5.5 inches. The frames are quite wide: 17 mm at the top and bottom, and about 4 mm at the sides. There is a high-quality anti-reflective coating.

Screen resolution FullHD, that is, 1080x1920 pixels, density 400 PPI. IPS matrix(manufacturer - Chinese company Tianma Microelectronics) and has the marketing name SuperLCD 3.

The maximum brightness of white color is 450 cd/m2, the brightness of black color is 0.46 cd/m2. Contrast - 980:1.

The viewing angles are maximum, under the slopes the picture slightly loses contrast. Otherwise good screen with visually pleasing colors. Nuance: judging by the sRGB triangle, it is slightly shifted up. The HTC U Play had a more sophisticated screen, close to AMOLED. In the case of the X10, everything is much simpler.

Battery

This model uses a built-in 4000 mAh lithium-ion battery. The manufacturer gives the following figures:

  • Talk time in 3G/4G networks: up to 25 hours
  • Standby time in 3G/4G networks: up to 20 days

In my case, the device worked for almost 2 days: infrequent calls for 10-15 minutes, permanent connection to Wi-Fi, in the background - Twitter, WhatsApp, Telegram and so on. Screen glow up to 4 hours. More accurate numbers below (all tests were done at maximum brightness):

  • Smartphone video playback for approximately 10 hours
  • Surfing websites for about 6 hours
  • Games - 5 hours 30 minutes

The manufacturer talks about support for fast charging Mediatek Fast Charge (50% in 40 minutes). Network adapter 5V - 2A.

Communication options

The device is equipped with two nanoSIM slots. The device supports 3G/4G network (LTE CAT 6) in Russian frequencies:

  • GSM (850/900/1800/1900 MHz),
  • WCDMA (850/900/1800/1900 MHz),
  • FDD-LTE (band 1, 3, 5, 7, 8, 20, 28)

The rest is standard: WiFi 802.11 a / b / g / n Dual Band, Bluetooth 4.2, microUSB (USB 2.0) connector for charging / synchronization. GPS navigation works without problems. The only thing missing is an NFC chip.

Memory

RAM 3 GB, built-in memory - 32 GB. The read speed of 32 GB of memory is 122 MB / s, and the write speed is 60 MB / s. Average score. For example, HTC Play has a slightly higher figure. The gadget can work with memory cards up to 2 TB.

cameras

The main camera module has a resolution of 16 MP (OmniVision OV16880 sensor, size 1/3.06 inches), aperture f=2.0, phase detection autofocus. Front module - 8 MP (sensor OmniVision OV8856, BSI), aperture f = 2.2. There is a bright double flash of the same tone.

Despite the yellowish tint of frames, the main camera shoots very well: good sharpness, a small amount of noise. The focus is very fast and accurate, you can adjust the exposure with a slider.

When the lighting is reduced, the picture begins to behave typical for any smartphone: noise appears, the image loses its sharpness a little. Colors are not distorted.

The HTC One X10 shoots quite well at night. IN manual settings I was disappointed with the shutter speed settings of only up to 2 seconds, I would like at least 10.

The front camera takes good pictures, although it feels a bit oversharpened. Wide angle.

Video – FullHD 30 fps during the day and 15 fps at night (decreasing the frame rate is a bad result). The quality is normal, the focus is fast. The sound is cool: it's stereo, high decibels are given to him well - without distortion. The manufacturer says that the HTC One X10 uses 3 microphones, so the sound is recorded at a decent level.

Returning to the iron side, we recall that the amount of RAM in One X is 1 gigabyte, while 32 GB is allocated for user needs. The memory is not expandable because there is no microSD slot. Alternatively, smartphone owners have the option to use a Dropbox account with 25 GB of free cloud storage. But keep in mind that such a freebie will only last two years. After this time, the donated 25 gigabytes will be taken back.

The list of wireless modules is interesting for two details. The first is support for the DC-HSPA+ profile, thanks to which the maximum possible data transfer rate is increased to 42 Mbps. The second is the installed NFC module. Everyone is looking forward to when this chip will finally be suitable for use in ordinary, not test conditions.

The downside of the unibody design is the lack of access to the battery compartment. Its capacity is 1800 mAh, and the battery life under active load is limited to one day (more precisely, a period of 8 to 12 hours). On the one hand, nothing new - and the previous generation of flagships had similar autonomy indicators, and on the other hand, thanks to the fact that the Android background does not work for only half a day, with an increased number of cores in the chip and pixels in the matrix.

Competitors

Given the installed quad-core chip, there are not many smartphones that compete with One X yet. In fairness, we note that in the near future, with a small number of Android programs supporting HD resolution, the difference between 2 and 4 core models will not be so noticeable. However, the One X already has an advantage over the Google Galaxy Nexus or Sony Xperia S, which have "only" dual-core processors.

I. Introduction

In the new line, HTC presented the world with three devices aimed at different price ranges - One V, One S, One X. And if the first model is much worse in technical specifications(and the price of which, accordingly, is much lower), then everything is not so clear between S and X - each of them has both advantages and disadvantages compared to each other.

Today we will talk about One X, which is positioned by the company itself as a flagship, and, in fact, it is - it has everything you can imagine (and even a little more):

III. Options, appearance, impressions and sensations

The device is available in two colors - black and white. In our case, the second option will be considered.

The phone comes in a small white box made of environmentally friendly cardboard, which looks like a soap dish from the side - already here HTC began to distinguish their product from the crowd. Opening it, you will see the smartphone itself with a loud inscription telling you that this is the one and only product that you have been waiting for.

The delivery set is meager and corresponds to current trends - a bit of waste paper in the form of various brochures, spare stickers with IMEI numbers, etc., ordinary penny headphones, a micro-USB cable and a charger.

The design is minimalistic - the device is made of a single piece of polycarbonate (plastic), there are no patterns like "I'm a transformer". In front we are greeted by a large 4.7-inch display, covered with a protective glass of the new generation Gorilla Glass 2 and without an air cushion (layer) - the image lies directly on the surface, as if printed on paper. Similar technologies can be seen in the latest Nokia smartphones. Part of the glass comes to the side edges of the case, which, when viewed from the side, causes a feeling of a slight curvature a la Galaxy Nexus. Don't be fooled, there's nothing like that.

The device leaves a positive feeling - thanks to the matte texture, you want to keep it in your hands (the ends are glossy). Despite the white color, the case is practical - it is hard to scratch and/or stain it. According to HTC, it is 4 times stronger and stronger than aircraft-grade aluminum (the advanced version of which is used in One S), which they happily demonstrated at some exhibitions.

I would like to note that the display, like the case, is hard to scratch, smudge or stain - there is an oleophobic coating, which in this case really fulfills its role. No, traces, of course, remain, but almost imperceptible, and it is very easy to erase them. Thanks to him, the screen feels slightly oily to the touch - the sensations are extremely pleasant.

Despite the relatively impressive dimensions for most people, the device is almost always convenient to use with one hand (only the power button located on the upper end can cause problems - you will have to show the wonders of finger gymnastics or intercept the device or use your second hand) and, in addition to all this, he is light to the point of disgrace. The closest analogue is the same Galaxy Nexus.

At the ends of the case there are already familiar micro-usb and mini JACK connectors, a power button and a paired volume button, which is very convenient to press, although it may seem somewhat long to some; on the back there is a small bulge that hides the camera. The glass of this, by the way, is on the same level with the protective side, so it is quite possible that scratches will appear in the future.

Both speakers are hidden behind the perforated parts of the case. The external speaker leaves much to be desired - the sound could be louder. Speaker hides the indicator of notifications about missed messages, calls, e-mails, dead battery, etc.

The first thing the user sees when turning on the device is the display. It is made using Super LCD2 technology (where the IPS-matrix is taken as the basis, unlike previous version with TN). What does this mean for the user? First of all, excellent color reproduction with soft undertones and excellent viewing angles - although some may not like this due to the slightly warmer gamut and not as high contrast that acidic AMOLED counterparts provide the user. Secondly, an extremely clear image, because. there is no PenTile syndrome here - fonts are perfectly readable at any scale and on any background. Thirdly - high "gluttony". This technology is far from being as economical as the notorious AMOLED - increasing the brightness level by a conventional unit makes the battery literally "leak" before our eyes. It is worth noting that by default in native firmware (which is very, very crude, but we will return to this later), the auto-backlight levels are strongly “pulled up”, which results in even greater energy costs. The display noticeably fades in the sun, but a large margin of brightness negates this drawback.

There are three control buttons on the front panel - "back", "home" and "recently launched applications" - as you can see, there is no "menu" button, which results in its on-screen version in non-optimized applications (read: 90 percent of currently available), and it takes up a lot of space. In low light, they light up in blue-white (blue, if you like) color, there is currently no way to adjust their behavior. In some devices there are problems with uneven backlighting - be careful!

On the whole and in general, despite the presence of recognizable features of the company's previous devices, One X stands out against their background with its integrity and completeness. It should be noted that our copy is assembled with high quality and conscientiously - there are no squeaks, there are no backlashes at all, the device is monolithic like a rock. However, after the purchase, checking the phone from all sides, pressing on the upper part of the display, there was a click - the screen fell into place, so when buying, you should pay close attention to the build quality - buyers report a high amount of marriage, which, however, is quite natural for the first batches of phones.

IV. Soft

To begin with, I want to note that this device is my first from HTC, so I was almost not familiar with their proprietary Sense interface until today. This graphical shell is rightfully considered one of the best among those provided by other manufacturers and can become a key and decisive moment when buying a new device. In its latest iteration, Taiwanese professionals managed not only not to lose the advantages that Android 4.0 brought, but to embellish and make the OS even more user-friendly.

When you turn it on for the first time, you will be presented with a setup wizard that will help you centrally enter all the necessary information, set the time zone, set the date, connect all kinds of accounts (the number of which is impressive), import contacts from another phone / carrier, etc.

Upon completion of this operation, a desktop will appear in front of you. new version sense. The grid has dimensions of 4x4, which, in my opinion, is small and wasteful for such and such a size and display resolution. Scrolling of desktops occurs with cubic animation (view from the outside). Their number can reach 7 pieces, the position relative to each other can be varied to suit your needs. Folders are created in the same way as "clean" ICS: it is enough to transfer one application icon to another. A convenient moment - by holding one or another interface element, you can move the desktops with another finger, thereby not wasting time dragging the notorious element to one or another edge of the table, wasting time waiting until it turns over by itself. In addition, the elements interchange each other if you want to move them to the occupied place of the slave. desktop - there is no need to delete and then re-add icons to the slave. table.

Built-in widgets are beautiful and informative, dynamically changing - for example, the widget of the "music" application has a control element for the built-in SoundHound song recognition program, but if it is not installed on the phone, it disappears from the widget in the same way.

The dock bar can hold up to four apps or folders, nothing special or new here.

By pulling the notification panel, you will not see any shortcut icons for wireless interfaces, which, of course, is a minus, but you can quickly go to the phone settings. Swipe left-right to remove notifications are saved here.

Lockscreen is standard - to unlock you need to pull the ring to the middle of the screen, to launch applications - pull the icon or folder in this ring. There is a minus here - the icons available for quick launch from the lockscreen cannot be configured - they duplicate those from the dock bar, which, in our opinion, is very, very inconvenient.

The entire interface is provided with beautiful animation, the appearance of rescrolling in various system menus is especially memorable - similar to an accordion. Screenshots, alas, do not convey the effect properly:

In the settings menu, we are greeted by a modified version from the usual ICS, where there are some additional functions, such as:

Customizing the appearance of Sense - the choice of covers, stories, etc .;

Compass unavailable warning;

Ability to mute the ringer by turning the phone screen down;

Automatic volume adjustment - the phone determines where it is (in your pocket or in your hand), due to which the sound volume increases or decreases;

Light indication setting - what and how to react;

FROM fast loading various problems may be related - applications from the market may conflict, increased power consumption, lack of automatic Wi-Fi reconnection after the phone “sleep”, etc., I recommend disabling this function.

The menu of recently launched applications has also undergone considerable changes - someone will like them, someone will not. The downside is that only one running application is “fully” visible on the screen, plus - it is shown in full screen mode and displays the last visible information the user on which he minimized the application. When you click on a thumbnail, it decreases in size, and then smoothly expands to full screen. Apps are closed with a swipe up.

However, Sense is not only good with graphics - much more important is a set of very high-quality software that comes with the kit, which allows you to really use the phone out of the box. This set is very, very impressive:

Adobe Flash Player

In addition to the above applications, there is also a set of its own proprietary software:

Weather (forecast from AccuWeather)

Locations (navigation)

Task Manager

wifi router

Voice recorder

Lantern

Mirror

Movie editor

car panel

Of this list, a special mention is the "Car panel", which makes the interface large and convenient to use in the car, without losing beauty. Like a regular shell, this panel has several desktops that display all the important information - music, wireless connections, phone, navigator, etc.

The built-in music player is beautiful, convenient and intuitive, but I can only call it “not bad” (although it is more than enough for my needs) - there are several equalizer presets, the ability to sort songs by albums / artists / etc., but the option “by folders" is not present, as well as there is no possibility to set your own equalizer settings.

The device has an extremely convenient and advanced “phone” application - everything is done as it should here - there is a T9 dialer and a search for contacts, which occurs both by numbers and by letters (and you just need to dial the contact name, the phone will prompt it) , all kinds of sorting, and even the “call” button opposite the contact is on the right, so that it is convenient to press and not reach anywhere.

The built-in browser is based on the usual one from ICS, however, it has a number of features, the main of which is fitting the font to the zoom size.

The charms of Sense can be described for a long time - how convenient, beautiful and beautiful it is, but there is one "but" that brings us to the next, penultimate part of the review.

V. Smartphone operation

And here the HTC programmers made a mistake. Not even a miss - there are complete seams. No, the device works quickly - applications run instantly, do not lag (most of them, at least), etc. - however, the system interface itself does not work as smoothly as we would like. From time to time (quite often, for that matter) there are slowdowns even when scrolling desktops; after a heavy load, the launcher starts to reboot; a huge menu button that eats away a decent part of the screen and does not go through any gates; disconnected and not automatically reconnecting Wi-Fi.

Moreover, the device works for a very short time - a powerful processor, a large and uneconomical screen ... however, there is a more serious problem - the processor does not properly manage the load and power consumption of the device, because HTC "mixed up" the location of the NvCPLSvc.apk file responsible for this item. Returning to the sound - when playing heavy files in FLAC format with a running bits-audio profile and the display is off, the sound is constantly interrupted, shut up, and very, very often - the processor cannot cope. Empirically, it was found that it is necessary to raise the processor frequency from the minimum 51 MHz to 475 MHz - then there are no problems. Or install custom firmware, as I did.

Despite the fact that the device is still quite new - official sales began on April 2, now new tweaks, firmware, mods and others like them are updated and appear every day. There are few differences between each other, because. everyone takes everything from each other, however, the experience of using third-party crafts shows that the device immediately blooms before our eyes - lags disappear, work time improves, additional and convenient settings and tweaks (such as landscape desktops, beautiful animations, faster memory, percent battery, etc.). All of them, with the exception of one, are based on stock versions, so, as I said, they do not shine with variety - but the feeling of using is on a completely different level, so if you are not afraid of losing your warranty - welcome to a better world.

You can evaluate the work of the camera yourself from the photographs taken. We have already talked about the main features of the camera from the software side.

VI. conclusions

This phone is extremely ambiguous. On the one hand - excellent technical stuffing, excellent appearance, beautiful and powerful Sense; on the other hand, extremely raw software in general and in general, and the situation does not yet seem to be getting better, because the recently released update does not fix such an important problem with power consumption.

Is it worth buying? If you don't want to wait for the Galaxy SIII, you want a great display and a nice-to-have body - welcome. If you are not ready to put up with very average indicators of the device’s lifetime (daylight hours, about 3.5-4 hours of screen time) and are not ready to make efforts to seriously refine the device with a “file”, then it is better to bypass it.
