The MTS set-top box is a compact device for watching digital TV from a service provider in HD quality. All that is required from the user is to correctly connect the receiver to the TV and configure the TV set-top box and TV channels.

The user can independently install and configure the MTS set-top box using the instructions for connecting equipment.
The first thing to do is to connect the receiver to the TV set. Both devices must be turned off. We recommend using an HDMI cable for the best picture quality. If there is no such connector, you should inspect the equipment, find the same port and purchase the appropriate cable.

The next step is to search for cable channels. It will be launched automatically, the user needs to click "OK" and wait for the process to complete. The receiver should find more than 150 TV channels.

If there are fewer of them, this may be for a number of reasons: the filter is working (you need to contact the provider to remove it), the MTS digital television works in the house only partially, or the antenna cable is damaged or a splitter is used.

Problems with the cable or the installed splitter are also reported as noise or interference, and sometimes the image freezes.
To sort the TV channels on the MTS TV set-top box, you need to “ Menu" go to " Channel settings", select " Sorting", and then - " Sorting MTS».
Now you need to update the software. It is necessary to sequentially select "Menu" - "System settings" - "Software update". Then enter the pin code "0000" and wait for the update of the TV receiver.

To eliminate the error, you need to pull out and reinstall the card without leaving the menu until the status D04-4 is displayed.
The receiver is considered configured after the smart card is correctly inserted into the seat.

Setting up a universal remote

The remote control from the MTS TV set-top box is universal, i.e. it can be configured to control the TV so that you can use one remote control to work with all the equipment, and not several.

This requires:

1. 1. Place both remote controls with infrared sensors opposite each other at a distance of about three centimeters.
   2. The remote control from the MTS TV set-top box has programmable buttons that can be taught commands for working with the TV (adjusting the sound, switching channels, etc.). To start the training mode, you need to press the button with the gear emblem on the remote control and hold it until the LED on the side of it lights up continuously.

Now on the remote control from the TV receiver, you must press and hold the button, the functions of which will have to be performed by the learning key. If the command is transmitted and received successfully, the indicator will blink three times, after which it will turn solid again.    4. To complete the tutorial, you need to press the gear key again. The indicator will go out.
   5. Now it is important to check how the universal remote control controls the TV receiver. If any button does not work correctly, the training process must be repeated.

Channel setup

To configure the channels, press "Menu", then "Channel editor" - "Channel list".

• to block: select a channel from the list, press the yellow key, enter the pin-code, the image of the lock will appear next to the name. To start this TV channel, you will need to enter a pin code;
• to add to favorites: select a channel, press the red key, a heart icon will be displayed next to the name, and the TV channel itself will appear in the “Favorites” list.
• to edit, use the blue button.

To remove a channel from the list, you need to select it, press the red key, confirm execution.
To move a TV channel in the list, use the green (up) or yellow (down) buttons.
To rename a channel, you need to press the blue button, and then select letters on the keyboard that appears. To delete a character entered by mistake, use the yellow key, to change the input language - red, to save changes - green.

Is it possible to replace the remote

The MTS universal TV decoder remote control cannot completely replace the TV remote control, because only the main buttons can be transferred to it - volume control, channel switching, etc. The rest will be available only from the main remote control from the TV receiver.
If the remote control from the TV set-top box fails, it will be possible to purchase it only through the service center. Another solution is to contact a specialized store, where you can pick up a similar remote control that matches the original one for most of the famous TV receivers, including MTS.

Error codes for MTS consoles

• E120-4, E30-4, E19-4. The set-top box did not work for a long time or rebooted, after which it did not have time to receive data for decrypting TV channels. It is necessary to let the TV set-top box stand on for half an hour, while the antenna cable must be connected.

In the third case, you need to purchase a connection multiswitch. This is a device that allows you to receive a signal from one or more satellites and transmit it to several independent set-top boxes. The method is relevant for large country houses and mini-hotels to connect more than 8 TVs.

Set-top box activation and channel setup

After the physical connection of satellite equipment to the TV, you need to complete the service activation process. It is assumed that an MTS smart or SIM card is inserted into the slot of the set-top box. Upon activation, the provider connects the contract of a specific subscriber with the ID - the number of his equipment, and the decryption key of the encrypted channels is sent to the card. After activation, the set-top box decodes the specified channel package provided for under the contract for a certain period of time, and then controls the payment.

There are several activation options: through a dealer network (the equipment was purchased from a dealer), a call to the MTS contact service, sending an SMS message from any operator number to 9909 indicating the card number and set-top box ID.

When you turn on the activated satellite equipment for the first time, you need to configure the MTS TV set-top box. After turning on the set-top box, you should wait for a while until the system boots up and the reception of signals is established. I specially took kit # 190, since it offers the s9-3900 receiver - one of the two most modern for MTS. Yes, it turns on longer (about 20-30 seconds from pressing the button to the start of viewing), I read that there are a lot of glitches, although, to be honest, in fact, I have not encountered any problems so far. But on this receiver, all the channels offered by MTS are available (except for UHD, although this may be a weak signal), including Disney, without which I would not buy a satellite at all. The bundled package has a tariff and includes channels from three packages: basic, children and adult. In the contact center I was told that you can change the tariff to just "basic" only by writing a statement in the MTS salon. And given that the "adult" package is simply ridiculous (someone really pays extra for general tariffs), you will have to take a walk and change the tariff. The installation is not very difficult - I calculated on the MTS website (in advance) which side the plate would be, hung it outside the window, but then the help of my family was required - along the line built by the application in the smartphone to the satellite I oriented, but I got "0". So I had to tell my family, and I turned and tilted the antenna. Tricolors are much easier to catch, I must say. I replaced the complete converter with a multiport one, extended the second cable to the kitchen, installed a cheap receiver and got free channels in the kitchen :) In total, about 20 unique ones, about 40, taking into account the "hour" and HD versions. It is a pity, but there is no First, Russia and NTV for free, but there is TNT, Friday, 2x2, Zvezda, etc. So, by paying extra, you can get a kind of multiroom without additional subscription fees.
