Step 1: selecting a template and the required photo angle

In this tutorial, we will look at a method by which you can replace a person's face in a photo.
You can change the face of a person in a photo for the sake of a joke, which we will do today.
For the lesson, I picked up a photo of a mother with a child, in this photo, using Photoshop, we will replace the child's face with the mother's face and vice versa, in general, we will change their faces!
First we need to copy the faces of the girl and the child on separate layers. To do this, we take the "Lasso" tool and use it to select the child's face.
After that, right-click on the selected object and select "Copy to New Layer" from the drop-down menu.
Do the same with the girl's face - copy it to a new layer. After that, select the move tool in the left panel and select the layers with faces one by one and move them to their new places.
Now select the layer with the girl's face by clicking on it with the left mouse button and in the top menu select "Edit" - "Transform" - "Distort" and dragging the corners of the selected area adjust the size and angle of the face to the parameters we need.
Do the same with the child's face layer. As a result, we get superimposed faces and adjusted in size and angle.
Now we need to smoothly fit the faces into the overall picture so that they do not look separate, but are one with the people's heads. To do this, select the girl's face by holding the "Ctrl" key and clicking with the left mouse button on the image of the face in the layer with it.
After the face is selected, click in the top menu "Select" - "Modify" - "Compress".
In the pop-up window, select the Compress value by 5-7 pixels and click the "OK" button, while there should not be a check mark in the "Apply effect on canvas borders" item. You will see that the selected area of the face has decreased towards the center. Now it is necessary, without removing this selection, to hide the layer with the girl's face by clicking on the "Eyes" icon in the layers panel, and select the layer of the photo itself by clicking on it with the left mouse button. And by selecting the "Eraser" tool in the left panel of the program, simply erase the selected area from the photo.
Now we remove the selection from the child's face by clicking the left mouse button first on the "Rectangular Marquee" tool, and then at any point in the photo. Next, turn on the visibility of the layer with the girl's face by clicking again on the "Eye" icon in the layers panel and select this layer along with the layer of the main photo by clicking on one and the other with the left mouse button while holding the "Ctrl" button (the layer with the child's face is not yet touch!).
With these layers selected (the girl's face and the main photo), select "Edit" - "Auto Overlay Layers" in the top menu, select "Panorama" in the pop-up window and check the box for "Smooth color and tone transitions", then click "OK".
The result is a picture with a smooth introduction of the face, but there are small errors, which we then just smear a little with the Finger tool set to 53% intensity.

Before you substitute a face in Photoshop, you need to understand a couple of rules.
First, the shooting angle should be as uniform as possible. Ideal when both models are photographed full face.
The second, optional, is that the size and resolution of the photos must be the same, since when scaling (especially when zooming in) the cut fragment, the quality may suffer. It is acceptable if the photo from which the face is taken is larger than the original.

We remove the excess with a regular eraser, and then return the opacity of the layer to 100%.

Hold down the key CTRL and click on the thumbnail of the cut face layer. A selection appears.
Go to the menu "Select - Modify - Compress". The size of the compression depends on the size of the image. 5-7 pixels is enough for me.

Another mandatory step is to create a copy of the layer with the original image ( "Background"). In this case, drag the layer to the icon at the bottom of the palette.
Being on the newly created copy, press the key DEL, thereby removing the original face. Then remove selection ( CTRL+D).
While on the copy of the background layer, hold down CTRL and click on the layer with the face, thereby selecting it as well.
