How to open a sim card slot in a phone. When the RAM slot is broken How is the on-site check in such cases

The developers of phones, or rather smartphones, do not cease to amaze with meaningless innovations.

However, you have the right to disagree with my opinion, but, for example, I absolutely did not like, for example, a hybrid slot.

This code can be inserted into it either a SIM card or a micro SD flash drive. Maybe earlier, when there were no two slots at all, such a decision would have been accepted by everyone with a bang.

Only today, no one likes to constantly change cards, but many have to, especially those who call foreign countries.

The second "misunderstanding" slot on the key. Not only is it hard to find, it also requires a key or something like it.

I don’t know why they didn’t like the traditional slot on a regular latch - once I pressed it, the slot opened, I pressed it a second time, the slot closed tightly.

If in your smartphone, you can install only one SIM card, that is good way put two -

Simple and convenient, but if this happens, then I will show you how to open the Samsung slot, xiaomi redmi 3, iphone, meizu, asus, huawei, lenovo and so on.

How to open the SIM card slot with a key

For those in the know, this might be obvious, but there are a lot of people who might miss out on these pinholes, as they aren't well integrated into the design.

Step 1: Find a small hole on the body of the device.

Step 2: Find the SIM card inserter inside your phone box. If lost, you can use something like a paper clip.

Step 3: Insert the tool into the hole, press hard and the slot should pop out.

Step 4: Remove the SIM card from the tray, or carefully place the SIM card or flash drive into it.

Step 5: Insert the tray back into your phone and press it to close.

NOTE: You can use a paperclip, but beware and never use a sharp object like a pin. This will damage the tray. Also, do not use wooden sticks - they can get stuck in the hole.

How to open the SIM card slot in a Samsung / Lenovo / xiaomi redmi 3 / meizu 2m / asus / huawei phone and others

In order to open the “pocket” of the SIM card, you need to find it. It's not difficult - carefully inspect the case and find a small hole (like a needle).

Of course, I write only about leaving trays, because they are still ordinary, most often under the battery.

When you find it, insert the key or a straightened paper clip into the hole next to the pocket.

The key is a small metal tool that you sometimes get with a new phone, but you can open the SIM card slot without a key.

How to open the SIM card tray without a key

If you are a lady or have a girlfriend, then almost any earring can open the tray.

Earrings are the simplest and most common tool for this kind of work, and even if they are not at hand right now, they can be quickly found (borrowed).

How to open the SIM card tray with a paperclip

A paperclip is the next most common thing if you happen to be working in an office.

Just beware of the plastic coated paperclip, any small paperclip will open the tray - just straighten one end and press hard.

When you're done, don't throw it away, but you can use it at work to fasten various pieces of paper together.

How to open the SIM card slot with a needle

If you repaired socks or trousers, then you will definitely have a needle in the house.

Just use the non-pointed end that you will insert into the hole and press, for example, on the edge of the table.

I would not advise you to try this with your hand. If you use sharp objects like needles, then use some kind of hard surface to press.

Of course, there are many other alternatives, including toothpicks, safety pins, or pretty much any other pointy thing around you.

how to open sim card slot on iphone

The SIM card slot in the iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone 6s, iPhone 5, iPhone 5s iPhone 4, iPhone 4s is located on the side of the device.

As in the figure below, and you can open it in exactly the same way as in the phone - the difference is zero.

But in the iPhone 3GS or iPhone 3G, it is in a slightly different place - on the top edge of the device.

The SIM card slot does not open - what to do then

But what if the tray is stubborn and does not open? First of all, try to press harder - often the issue is resolved.

If it doesn’t help, then first you need to put a key or other object into the hole, which is not subject to discussion.

Some people try to stick something to the tray with superglue, but its strength is usually not enough - it comes off.

Just do everything carefully, otherwise you can pierce some devices through with a needle (you will even see a point of light). Therefore, if you use a pin, then it is better to break off the sharp tip (bite off sharper).

It is possible that the SIM card slot does not open due to the fact that it is broken, for example, the contact is bent and hooked - if you pull, you can break it off.

Also, the slot may not open due to the fact that the SIM card falls out of the groove and clings to the housing connector.

Then you can try using a strip of foil or a blade and try to pull it out.

Of course, if the slot does not open due to the fact that the SIM card is crooked, then it is better to immediately give it to a specialist than to break it and only then send it for repairs.

Some devices will take time to disassemble even for a professional - so be careful, otherwise the consequences of inexperienced intervention can end in costly repairs.

I also suggest watching a video instruction on how and how to open SIM card slots in phones. Good luck.

On popular Internet sites, such ads are often found:

iPhone for sale. Excellent condition, case and screen ideally, everything works.

There is one drawback: the sim card slot is broken.

Repair is inexpensive, but I urgently need money for treatment / wedding / funeral, etc. Selling as is.

Replacing the SIM card slot is really inexpensive. Depending on the model and service center, this will cost about 2,000 rubles. The iPhone itself is sold for 8-10 thousand cheaper than working counterparts.

For many, such a purchase will seem like an excellent investment and an opportunity to save a lot. Give 10 thousand less, and then lay out only two for repairs.

How is the on-site inspection carried out in such cases?

When the buyer decides to purchase such a smartphone and meets with the seller, he is given an iPhone in excellent condition. The device is reset to factory settings and the user is greeted with a familiar inscription.

In this form, you can select a region, language, and even connect to Wi-Fi, then the device will ask you to insert a SIM card. This is where the climax begins.

The seller will apologize a thousand times for his mistake, an hour ago the device was working properly, he decided to disconnect it from the Apple ID and reset it in order to give it clean to the buyer.

The poor fellow forgot that when activated, you will need to insert a SIM card, and the receiver is broken. He assures that in case of blocking, he could not reset the device, it would be blocked and would ask for a password from someone else's Apple ID account.

Everything looks logical and believable. The buyer trustingly gives money and goes to a pre-selected service. Pays a couple thousand more to replace the SIM card tray.

After the repair, it tries to activate the device again. The card verification stage is successful, and then the same warning appears on the screen with the need to enter an Apple ID and password.

The iPhone was stolen or lost, after which the owner blocked it via iCloud.

Where is the trick hiding?

In fact, the iPhone being sold was initially blocked. Such models are usually sold very cheaply "for organs". But enterprising scammers are trying to sell blocked devices under the guise of broken ones.

They deliberately damage the SIM card receiver. To do this, it is enough to dig into it with a paper clip or a toothpick. After the smartphone is dumped and put up for sale.

How not to fall for this scam

Checking for health and disconnecting from Apple ID is the first thing you need to pay attention to when it comes to iPhones.

Nothing can be done with a locked device. We'll have to carry this brick to the nearest radio market.

Don't buy equipment you can't test

The most inquisitive can find the IMEI code of the device on the welcome screen, compare it with the code on the box and back cover(SIM card tray). Next, check the status of the device by code, for example, .

But even after that, it's too early to relax. It is best to offer the seller to go to a service center, pay for the repair, and only after that give the full amount for the device. To do this, it is better to find a free master in advance, ready to start work immediately.

This is how we arm you with new knowledge and warn you about possible dangers when buying a gadget from your hands.

To this topic:

Over the weekend, a friend brought an explay surfer 8.31 3g tablet. When falling from the table, the back cover of the tablet opened, pulling the SIM card inserted into the slot. Alas, such situations with your favorite gadgets have probably happened to many of you. However, with great desire, this problem can be solved on your own.

As you can see in the photo, the slot attachment point has been torn out, and on one side, along with the foil glued to the board (blue circle). It's good that this section of the foil is not a track and you can safely put it in place (glue it).

The broken-off legs of the slot and their remains on the tablet board are marked with a red circle.

Even during the inspection, it was found that the SIM card was not fixed, that is, the slot itself was damaged. Of course, I would replace it with another one, but the nearest specialized store where you can buy a slot is 150 km away. Upon learning of this, a friend asked me to remove the fixation and put the slot as it is (remove the spring so that the SIM card does not come out back). But I couldn’t just pull out these parts, because if you need to change the SIM card later or, for example, you have to open the case, you can’t do without breaking the slot again.

The photo (after repair) shows that on this tablet model, the SIM card is inserted deeply and it is almost impossible to pull it out without an ejector mechanism.

Thus, I had to repair the slot itself first.

After removing the metal cover, I saw that the wire resembling a stapler (only much smaller) was missing. She fixed a plastic part that pushes the SIM card under the action of a spring.

The red circle marks the place where the fixing bracket should have been.

The wire for the brace needs to be stiff in order to not accelerate back, so I made the brace out of spring steel of the right diameter.

The diameter was determined by the hole where the native bracket was installed.

Slightly straightening the spring, he bent the tip with pliers and bit off. After biting off, the end of the wire resembled an ax blade. So that it does not damage the plastic parts of the mechanism, I rounded off its end with a diamond file.

Temporarily removing the ejector spring for convenience, I installed the SIM card in place and, thus, found out the length of the latch.

I made the length of the bracket legs so that it does not exceed the thickness of the base of the slot. Otherwise, the end of the bracket, which is inserted into the base itself, could damage the tablet board.

On this, the biggest problem in repairing the tablet (restoring the slot) ended and another began - installing the slot in place.

Slot installation

With a new slot, installation would not be a problem, but since the legs of the native slot also suffered, I had to tinker with them.

To begin with, I removed the remnants of the legs from the board, polished the places of soldering with soldering flux and began to solder. I soldered with a regular 40 watt soldering iron, although it is better to solder such parts with a soldering station. I started by sealing and soldering the slot body, then the legs themselves. The short ends of the slot legs did not reach the place of their soldering, and it was necessary to build up the legs with a thin copper wire. I had to solder each leg, trying not to touch the already soldered one, and they are at a very close distance (not for the faint of heart). At the end, I wiped with alcohol all the places where there were flux residues.

If anyone decides to try to fix the breakdown of the slot himself SIM cards, I want to warn you: on explay surfer 8.31 3g, the battery is glued on the back cover, be careful when disassembling. With a sharp opening of the lid, serious damage is almost guaranteed. At a minimum, pull the battery plug from the board, damage the cables and, of course, the wires that go to the speakers (marked in red).

When soldering, do not overheat the board and slot.

Make sure that there are no jumpers (blots) between the tracks.

When repairing, it is advisable to have a magnifying glass on hand, preferably a microscope.

A soldering iron needs little power, but a soldering station is better, otherwise the slot may melt and the tablet board may overheat.

Do not remove rosin residue with sharp objects (a needle), as this may damage the tracks on the board.

Reminder: if there is no experience in repairing radio electronics, you should not even try, otherwise the consequences of such a repair (already service center) will cost much more, or they may not accept the device at all.

Components in the computer often break down, and there is nothing unusual about this. Despite the simplicity of slots random access memory, they also fall into disrepair.

No one ever repairs RAM, they just replace it. However, this is only possible if it is under warranty. The manufacturer himself, most likely, simply disposes of a defective or damaged slot, and gives the buyer a new one. If the memory is not under warranty and you are sure that it does not work, then just throw it away. Repair ... well, it is possible in theory by soldering some chips that could be damaged, but you should not use such memory. No one will guarantee its effective operation.

How to check if a memory slot is working?

If your system simply does not recognize the memory in the system, then this does not mean that the slot is not working. For example, 32-bit operating systems do not see more than 4 GB of memory. You can insert at least 16 GB into your computer, but the system simply will not see it. But 64-bit systems see everything! Therefore, if you have 2 slots of 4 GB and a 32-bit operating system, try to insert the slots separately and look in the characteristics of the computer to see if the volume is displayed in the system. If each of the slots is displayed separately, then they are clearly working.

Next is the discrepancy between the architecture of the processor and the motherboard and the amount of memory used. The fact is that the same 16 GB of RAM, for example, cannot support motherboards. The characteristics usually indicate what maximum amount the board can "see" in the system. motherboards Most laptops are rated for 8 GB of RAM. If you insert 2 8 GB sticks into it, then 16 GB will still not be displayed, but this does not mean that the slot is faulty.

Well ... and if the RAM slot really does not work, then at least you can try to wipe the contacts with a rubber grater (as in school). Sometimes (in about 10% of cases) this helps and the system starts to “recognize” the RAM again. Of course, the chances that this will help are small, but it's worth a try.

In other cases, take the slot to the manufacturer / seller, if there is a guarantee, either for repair, or throw it in the trash.
