First example with a rose flower on a transparent background is made with the following settings:
1) Replacement intensity - 38;
2) Smoothing around the edges - 5;
3) Replace the solid background with a transparent one;

For creating second example, with a white background, the same settings were used as in the first example, except for the parameter: "Replace plain background with" - white. Sometimes a picture will come across, but its background does not fit your site, and you want to make it transparent. Of course, if you have Photoshop and know how to work on it, you can do it there too. But there is an easier way, so to speak, "for dummies".

While surfing the Internet one day, I came across an article about Pixlr Photo Editor. By the way, this is not a regular graphic editor, but an online editor. Here is a link to it - http://pixlr.com/editor/ .

It is this program that will help us make a picture with a transparent background in PNG format.

We have, for example, the following image:

I want to remove the black background from it and make it transparent.

To do this, go to the program, select the item "Open image from computer" (Open image from computer) and load the desired image. Immediately change the program language to Russian (menu Language-> Russian language).

On the right in the "Layers" window you will see a thumbnail of the picture and a box. Double-click on the block (the "bird" in the box should appear). This way you remove the blocking from the background.

After that, select the "Magic Wand" tool (on the left of the toolbar), bring it to the background of the picture and click with the mouse. The background will stand out dotted line. Use the Delete key to delete the background.

To create a transparent PNG image using a free online service site must first prepare the image. As an image, it is desirable to use images in PNG or GIF formats, since jpeg format can introduce slight distortions in the image at the border of the color transition, which will prevent you from making a high-quality blank for a future watermark.

Then it is necessary to paint over the area, which should become invisible, with some color, preferably absent from the rest of the image. This is necessary in order to clearly separate the visible and invisible parts of the image. If this is not done, it may turn out that the part of the image for which this is not desirable will also become invisible. Below is an example of an image prepared for processing. The area in the image that will be made transparent is highlighted in red.

Then you should select the item " Services" in the main menu of the site site and go to the sub-item "Creating a transparent image in PNG format". On the page that opens, select the file we prepared earlier and click the "Next step" button.

The image will be uploaded to the server and next page we will be given the opportunity to select the color that needs to be made transparent with the mouse.

Clicking the mouse in the right place of the picture, we get to the page of the results of image processing. Now you need to right-click on the processed image, select the "Save picture as ..." menu item and save the resulting image to your computer.

The difference between the PNG format and other formats for graphics is that transparent or partially transparent parts of the image remain transparent when saved. If files are saved in a different format, this transparency may be lost. To create and, most importantly, save a PNG file, there are a few things to consider.

  • Much depends on which graphics editor you are working in. The simplest programs, such as the standard Paint editor, do not generally support transparency. More functional programs Paint.net, CorelDraw, Adobe Photoshop(and similar ones) allow you to adjust the transparency of images and support working with layers.
  • To adjust the transparency (partial transparency) of an image or any part of it, create new layers and use your editor's tools to adjust the display of layers. Depending on the editor, you may need to merge all layers before saving.
  • To save the image as you see it in the editor, select in top line menu item "File" (File). From the drop-down menu, select the "Save as" command. In the dialog box that opens, specify the directory for saving the file, in the "File name" field, enter the name under which you want to save the file. In the "File type" (Format) field, select PNG (*.PNG) from the drop-down list and click on the "Save" button.
  • In the event that merging layers leads to a loss of transparency, either save the image without merging the layers, or install a tool for your editor that allows you to export layers in .png format without losing transparency (for example, in Adobe Photoshop standard tools this cannot be achieved, since there is no .png extension in the list of formats).
  • Download the corresponding script from the Internet. Set the background to a transparent layer, and place the main image on another layer. Select the "File" item in the top menu bar, the "Scripts" item in the expanded menu and the "Export Layers to File" command.
  • In the dialog box that opens, select the directory to save the layers, set the marker in the field opposite the words Fast Mode (Don "t remove hidden layers), select the .png format in the "File Type" field and click the "Run" button. This action will cause you to save two files: one is "empty", the other will contain an image with your transparency settings.

The larger it is, the more similar pixels it will capture, i.e. more if the tolerance is minimal, then it will highlight exactly one color, and if it is increased, then shades that are close to this color will also be included in the range.

    Just do not forget that such images must be saved in the format PNG, otherwise the transparency will be lost and you will again have White background.

    If the background is very heterogeneous and it is clearly visible that even the tolerance will not help, then use others, for example, or even a lasso. By the way, I already showed this on .

    Eraser

    Also, the background can be erased with a regular one. Yes, yes, it is them. Just do not forget to remove the lock from the layer, otherwise, instead of transparency, everything will be painted over with white.

    The process is quite tedious. After all, it is necessary to select the normal stiffness, and calmly wash it without touching the element itself, in this case leopard. In any case, it cannot be ruled out as an option. Do you agree?

    Of course, there is a simpler way, namely the tool "Background Eraser". The only thing better is that the background and the element are sufficiently different from each other in color and saturation. So I took a photo of a tiger jumping against the sky. Great option.
