How to disable automatic startup of programs in Windows?

In particular, the "Startup" item appeared in the "Task Manager", which displays all programs that automatically start when Windows starts up. To get to this point, call the task manager by pressing the Ctrl + Alt + Del keys and select the "Startup" tab in the upper part of the window that opens.

Note that the Task Manager also displays the effect of a particular application on the speed at which the operating system starts up. Through the "Task Manager" you cannot add new programs to automatic loading at computer startup.

How to enable or disable autostart programs through the registry

The registry allows you to access almost any function of the operating system. Including, through it, you can configure the list of programs that are automatically loaded when Windows starts. To do this, you must:

1. Press the keyboard shortcut Windows + R and write the command regedit;
2. Further in the registry, go to the following path:

It should be noted that, according to the instructions above, the program startup parameters are set for the user on whose behalf the registry is currently being edited. If you want to set parameters for all users, in the left part of the registry edit window, right-click on the Run folder and select "Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE". After that, follow the procedures to add or remove a program from the startup list.

You can enable autoloading of individual applications through a special folder. It is enough to put a program shortcut in it so that it starts automatically every time Windows starts. To go to this folder, just press the Windows + R key combination on the keyboard and in the Run window write the command shell: startup.

It should be noted that this folder does not contain all programs that are set to automatically start at the start of the operating system. You cannot disable system applications through it.

Users sometimes complain that Skype opens automatically every time they start Windows. The icon is thus permanently on the taskbar. When you turn off your PC, Skype sometimes won't close itself. Often Windows asks for confirmation of a forced shutdown, since Skype remains open.

How can you prevent Skype from launching when you turn on your computer? Let's consider several ways.

Method number 1: through Settings

This method should be addressed first. In most cases, it solves the problem with turning on Skype.

1.Open the utility window. In the top panel, click on the "Tools" section and select the "Settings ..." block.

Attackers most often disguise their malicious "brainchilds" as potentially useful programs, and this is largely due to gaining user trust. Many malicious programs are designed in such a way that their code can only be launched manually. In this case, when we run the installation package, we automatically generate malicious code that can be written in those places on the computer where it needs it. Depending on the attacker's goals, these can be: browser settings, system registry, computer startup parameters, even PC hardware (RAM).

As for the browser that automatically opens with the computer, most often, in this way, attackers try to increase their own profits by moving the user to advertisers' sites. In the global network, many services are built on the principle that payment is made by visiting some pages and the more visits, the more profit. It also increases the conversion of the site, its indicators for advertisers, respectively, increases its price. Do not assume that such software is absolutely safe, because you do not know what the attacker is up to and injected into your code. He may have added a feature to automatically send user data. In any case, it is necessary to deal with such a problem.

What to do when a browser with a website or ad opens automatically when you turn on your computer

This problem is gaining momentum today, and this is largely due to the fact that antiviruses do not yet recognize it as malware. Of course, you can call the master, but then you will have to pay a pretty sum for the petty work. Therefore, try to do everything yourself, especially since the removal procedure itself usually does not take much time. You can cope with this task in just one hour.

So, first of all, you need to check the startup parameters. Perhaps some of your browsers are located there and therefore are launched together with a personal computer. In order to clean the "Startup", you need to do the following:

If the connection has not been created yet, then you need to do this, if it already exists, then you should rename the already created connection. The name can be given, for example, VPN.
Then you need to start the Windows task scheduling feature. To do this, start the "Control Panel", and sequentially select the items "System and Security", "Administrative Tools" and "Task Scheduler".

Then you need to create a task through the "Action" item. First you need to enter any name and description of the task and click "Next". You can also set up automatic Internet connection using the autoplay function of programs. First you need to create a BAT file. Open notepad and fill it with this text:
