Sven ap b450mv wireless headphones. Bluetooth headsets Sven AP-B450MV and Sven AP-B470MV

Budget models with basic and advanced functionality

Sven products are typically represented in our testing by full-length loudspeakers. Recently, we have begun to cover other areas of the company's product range. At the end of last year, a review was published portable speaker Sven PS1000BL, and today we'll talk about two inexpensive models of wireless headsets - AP-B450MV and AP-B470MV.

In packages, the headsets are very similar to each other. In fact, there are many differences between them, which is not typical for neighbors in lineup. The declared characteristics are:

In terms of design, there are more similarities between the two models. Both are made of plastic, have a foldable design and a monochrome body, as well as the same detachable leatherette ear cushions.

AP-B450MV has a brighter appearance due to the use of a glossy finish. The headband appears to be one piece, but it can be extended by about 3 cm on each side.

Both headphone models have a rubber pad under the headband for a comfortable fit.

There is no metal frame in the headbands, so it is better to refrain from extreme loads on the body.

The cups in the headband are fixed quite rigidly, there is only some play along the vertical, but not horizontally. Because of this, the headphones have to be adjusted for some time to achieve a comfortable position on the head.

The AP-B470MV has slightly more play and is therefore more comfortable to wear. And there is much less glossy plastic in its case: basically, a more practical and not so spectacular soft-touch is used everywhere.

Both headsets can also work via a wired connection, but only as headphones - the package includes a regular TRS stereo cable. In addition, the headphones come with a Micro-USB cable for charging.

All headphone controls are concentrated on the left cup. The AP-B450MV has a button for turning on / accepting a call, as well as a scroll / volume control combined with a track pause button. A quick shift of the wheel to the side switches the track, and a long one - changes the volume level. There is also a microphone, a 3.5 mm jack for wired connection and Micro USB for charging.

The more functional AP-B470MV adds a mode button (sound source) to this list, as well as a microSD card slot (supports up to 32 GB). The headset only sees entries in the root of the memory card. In addition, you can listen to FM radio through the AP-B470MV - there is an auto search function, which manages to more or less cleanly catch many stations even indoors.

The Sven AP-B450MV headset puts elegance at the forefront, while the Sven AP-B470MV puts practicality and functionality at the forefront. As a result, everyone can choose a solution based on their own priorities.

Measurements in RMAA

To measure the reproducible frequency range, we used the Bruel Kjaer 4153 - Artificial Ear/Ear Simulator (IEC 60318-1 compliant), which is capable of emulating the human ear impedance up to 16 kHz.

The graphs of both models are similar. Deviations within 6 dB are provided in a narrow range from 570-580 Hz to 2 kHz.

Sound quality

As a reference model for on-ear and wraparound headphones in this and other reviews, we will use. When comparing the sound, the headphones were connected to the sound source in accordance with the main intended use case: Sennheiser - via cable, and Sven - via Bluetooth.

The sound quality of both the 450th and 470th models is seriously inferior in many respects. First of all, a narrower range of reproducible frequencies is allocated. The lower case prevails, the stereo panorama seems more compressed compared to HD449. It is difficult to identify the strokes of execution. For demanding listeners, budget Sven headsets are clearly not suitable, which was, in principle, expected.

If we compare the AP-B450MV and AP-B470MV, then the difference in their sound is quite insignificant. When connected to a smartphone at maximum volume, the older headset experiences a distinct overload. This is not observed in the 450th model.

Range and battery life

From this perspective, it is interesting to compare the AP-B450MV and AP-B470MV with each other, since they work through different versions Bluetooth protocol - the younger one using Bluetooth 4.0, and the older one using 2.1 + EDR.

We took turns connecting the headsets to the smartphone Sony Xperia Z1 Compact and moved away from it in open space. The AP-B450MV started having problems with sound transmission at about 24 m, while the AP-B470MV started at 20 m. In real use scenarios, this difference will not play any role.

Unexpected results brought testing autonomous work. As usual, we paired fully charged devices with a Bluetooth audio source and played a repeating playlist on them until full discharge batteries. In this mode, the AP-B450MV was able to work for 10 hours, and the AP-B470MV - only 5 hours, that is, half as much. Probably, due to additional functionality, the share of the battery in the hardware stuffing of the older model was limited.

conclusions

Each of the Sven AP-B450MV and AP-B470MV wireless headsets at a similar price has its own advantages and disadvantages. If only playback via Bluetooth is planned, then the younger model deserves attention, demonstrating a good battery life. If you prefer the FM band to ready-made smartphone playlists, then it makes sense to consider the older model. Do not forget that if necessary, any of the tested headsets can be connected via a regular cable.
