We create if necessary backup your data. Turn off the device. We remove the cards.

The tools required for disassembly are a spatula (or pick) and a PH00 screwdriver (Phillips).

Remove the back cover and remove battery... We check the model code (I9195 for the 4G version and I9190 por 3G).

Now you can proceed directly to disassembling the device.
Using a PH00 screwdriver (PH Phillips 00 (up to 1.5 mm), unscrew the 10 screws marked in red.

Take a spatula (or a pick) and insert in this place. This place is more convenient in that, due to the presence of the button, this part is more flexible, so it is easier to insert the spatula.
Insert about 1 millimeter first and then slide along the joint with slight pressure (thumb pressure).

Do the same for the other side. It is important to maintain proper pressure during movement so as not to get out of the groove, and therefore without the risk of scratching the edges of the chrome case.

Divide the short sides in the same way.

Now S4 mini, divided into two separate parts, the first consists mainly of the motherboard and the screen unit, the second consists of the rear frame.

Now we will disassemble the part with the motherboard.

The motherboard is not secured with screws, so you just need to unplug all cables to free it.

We start with this connector:

Then from this:

The third connector is from the front camera.

Then disconnect the headphone jack.

Now you can gently release motherboard, opening from right to left, but at the same time it must be remembered that the loop is still connected at the bottom.

Carefully remove the board so as not to damage the ribbon cable or its connector.

Disconnect the ribbon cable from the motherboard using a spatula.

You can now completely remove the motherboard.

If necessary, you can disconnect the camera from the motherboard, which is attached to the ribbon cable.

To do this, you need to release the mechanical latch that holds the cable.

Pulling the connector lever upwards, the ribbon cable is easily removed from the connector.

Now let's continue with the screen module
Disconnect the ribbon cable from the bottom board.

The bottom board is lightly glued, you can heat it up for a few seconds (~ 150 °) to make it easier to remove. Take special care not to overheat the microphone!

We carefully separate the part of the board on which the microphone is installed, which can get stuck. It is necessary to separate it very carefully so as not to break the train.

This is a train Home buttons or a lock screen to be more precise.

Then you need to remove the audio headphone jack.

To make this easier, you can heat it slightly.

The next element is a small metal plate made of steel that supports the front camera and proximity sensor.

By clicking on it in the direction indicated by the red arrow, remove it with a spatula.

Now you can easily remove the front camera, now the plate no longer holds it.

After that, you can remove the speaker, which is on the same cable as the distance sensor.

The vibration motor is glued firmly enough, so it needs to be slightly heated to avoid damage.

Remove it with a spatula. Attention! The train with which it is connected is also glued, one must be careful not to break anything.

A guide on how to replace the Home button on a Samsung Galaxy S4 mini.

Step 1

Start by removing the back of the case, battery, SIM card, and SD card. Now remove 10 screws with a screwdriver.

Step 2

Now that the back case is removed, we can find the cable connections on the board. There are five flexible cable connections on the open side of the board. They are highlighted in orange. There is also one connection on the USB charge board, which is highlighted in red. This cable is for the Home button and two capacitive buttons (Back button and Menu button).

After the ten screws have been removed, continue to separate the middle case from the back case using the opening tool.

Make sure to remove the small bracket that sits in place on the front of the camera.

Step 3

Use a plastic tool to release the flexible cable connections on the board.

Once all the flex connections are free, move to the side removal so that the power button is on. The flex display cable is located on the other side of the board, so be careful not to lift it too quickly or forcibly.

When the board is at an angle, take a plastic tool and pull the flexible cable connection out of the logic board.

All cables are now disconnected and you can safely remove the board.

Step 4

If you haven't already, open one flex cable connection from the USB board.

You may also need to free the area marked in yellow if it is pinned down.

This is the contact for assembling the Home button. Which is also the backlight cable for the capacitive keys.

Step 5

You will then need to remove the display to access the home button flex cable assembly.

Use a heat gun or hair dryer to heat up the adhesive holding the screen in place. Heat around the outer edges of the display.

If you are using a heat gun, do not overheat the display. This could damage it.

Also, try not to stick the separating tools far into the device, especially at the top and bottom of the display. This may result in you having to cut through the display flex cable at the top of the screen or the Home button flex cable at the bottom of the display.

Step 6.

Once the adhesive has softened, slowly lift the screen from the top to the top of the display and make sure the display ribbon cable is threaded through the slot in the display case.

Once you get to the bottom of the display, you will also need to slide the flex cable through its slot in the display case.

Step 7.

Now that the display has been removed, we can take out the home button flex cable assembly.

Use a plastic tool and first lift back buttons. It is held in place with glue, so you can warm up a little to loosen the glue if needed.

The back button is not locked and you can simply push it out. Finally, you need to bring up the section that contains the menu button. It is also held in place with glue.

Now remove the home button assembly and you can begin installing your new home button flex cable assembly. This can be done using the steps in the instructions in reverse order.

Renowned smartphone disassembler Bill Detwiler of Techrepublic got to the Samsung Galaxy S 4 and showed how the device looks from the inside.

It turned out that thanks to the removable back cover, getting to the filling of the smartphone was not difficult. Compared to the Galaxy S 3, the 4th generation smartphone has moved the battery slot slightly lower, allowing more room for the main board. Interestingly, the front panel of the Galaxy S 4 is firmly attached to touch screen: This means that if one of the above components is damaged, two parts will have to be replaced. And to do this, you will need to completely disassemble the device.

In general, the expert was impressed by the improvements and design solutions that Samsung engineers and designers have resorted to regarding the smartphone's filling. You can learn more about the Galaxy S 4 disassembly process in the video.

The guys from iFixit also opened SGS4, posting step-by-step instructions with detailed photos. They rated the phone's maintainability at 8 out of 10, noting easy battery replacement, easy access to internal components, few screws (only 11 and all standard Phillips # 0), as well as modularity of some parts (in which case it is not necessary to replace the entire board. ). Difficulties can arise when replacing the screen, which is connected to the glass (the glass is broken - the entire front panel changes) and access to which is possible only after complete disassembly... Earlier, the same project put the "stake" on HTC One.
