Yandex.Keyboard - One of many. What are the keyboard shortcuts in Yandex browser Keyboard shortcuts Yandex browser

It is simply impossible to earn money on the Internet without a browser, and productivity depends on how convenient it is for you to work with it.

Like many other programs, there are special keyboard shortcuts that allow you to perform various operations. Using them helps save time.

Browser hotkeys are used by all professionals. It would seem a trifle, but those seconds that you save turn into minutes, and then into hours of free time.

We already talked about it somehow, but that article is more useful for people working with texts.

Useful hotkeys in the browser

Saving even a little time means making more money. The hot keys of the Yandex browser, opera, chrome and other platforms are practically the same.

Remember them and apply using any browser:

  • Alt+Backspace or left arrow - back function.
  • Alt + Enter - the entered URL will be opened in another tab.
  • Alt+Enter - to view search results in a separate window.
  • Alt + Home - go to the home page.

  • Ctrl + S - save data from the page to the PC.
  • Ctrl+Shift+Del - proceeds to clear history, cache and other data.
  • Ctrl+Shift+T - opens the page that you closed last time.
  • Ctrl+Shift+Tab - Moves to the previous tab (to the left).
  • Ctrl+T - open a new tab.
  • Ctrl+Tab - Moves to the next tab (to the right).
  • Ctrl+U - open page code.
  • Ctrl+W - close an unnecessary tab.
  • Ctrl+minus button, Ctrl+scroll wheel down - zoom out.
  • Ctrl+plus button, Ctrl+scroll wheel up - zoom in.
  • Ctrl + number from 1 to 8 - allows you to move between tabs.
  • End - easy transition to the end of the page.
  • Esc - press to stop all downloads.
  • F11 - activation of the "Full Screen" mode.
  • F5 - to refresh the page with clearing the cache.
  • Home - go to the top of the page.
  • Shift+Backspace - forward function.
  • Shift+Space, Page Up - scrolls up a screen.
  • Space, Page Down - scrolls one screen down.
  • Alt+F4 - hotkey to close the browser.

It is unlikely that you will be able to remember them right away, you need to train. But when you study each combination, you will notice how convenient it is, since you practically do not have to pick up the mouse.

There are others on our blog to help save time.

Even if you just spend a lot of free time online, try learning some commands. This reduces your movement, which can also affect fatigue. Practice, using hot keys when working in a browser will not be superfluous.

You will also be interested in:

At the first launch, the keyboard introduces us to all the possibilities, beating the training in the form of an impromptu chat. As you can see, visually "Yandex.Keyboard" is very similar to the standard one, but this is rather a plus. There are still some differences in the interface.

The keyboard has three screens, between which it is easy to switch with swipes. In the center is a keyboard with a Russian layout, on the right is an English one, and on the left is a separate numeric keypad. The familiar globe icon switches between English and Russian layouts, but who needs it if there are gestures?

Next, the predictive typing panel catches your eye, which will immediately begin to guess words, making it easier to enter. There is an interesting feature here: after entering a phrase and pressing the spacebar, the keyboard will offer emoji that are suitable for the context. By the way, the gap here is also not simple. With it, you can move the cursor over the text if you make a tap with a hold. Almost like on the iPhone 6s.

Even the basic functionality of the Yandex keyboard sets it apart from its competitors. But she also has additional features hidden behind the button with the ellipsis. Here we have almost a nesting doll: the advanced features screen contains five more tabs, including an emoji panel, a catalog of gifs, a sketch drawer, a geolocation panel, and a translator. Each of them deserves attention, so we will consider them separately.

With emoji, everything is clear. It's a familiar panel with emojis categorized, as well as quick access to the most recently used ones. There are two differences here: the emojis are not so crowded and the preview shows an enlarged smiley, and not the usual one.

Pictures from the second tab immediately allow you to quickly insert a gif of a suitable topic. If you need something specific - there is a search. Just looking for pictures, animations and demotivators. Everything, of course, through the proprietary service "Yandex. Pictures". Once selected, the photo is copied to the clipboard, from where it can be pasted into almost any application (iMessage, Telegram, and so on).

The maps panel gives you access to popular places and allows you to share your location just like in iMessage. There is also the usual search on the map, you can find any place. A link to Yandex.Maps with the name of the object is copied to the clipboard, which can be pasted anywhere.

And last on the list, but not in its usefulness - the translator tab. It allows you to almost instantly translate the typed text into any of the foreign languages. We enter the text, switch to the translator panel, and voila - Russian turns into English or any other.

The main intrigue is how well it all works in practice. I will not torment you: it works very well. The keyboard appears if instantly, then with a barely perceptible delay, which does not cause discomfort.

Thanks to useful features, such as a built-in emoji panel and the presence of an English language with quick switching, Yandex.Keyboard has every chance of becoming the only keyboard on your iPhone. Why, given the advanced features like geotagging, translator and trackpad mode, neither the standard keyboard nor any of the third-party ones simply have any chance.

  • Android application Yandex.Keyboard , version: 18.3.4, price: Free

No matter how many keyboards I tried to use on my smartphones, I generally liked them all. I could not single out any of them from the host of the rest, in each there was at least some small flaw. And in the end, I settled on the Gboard keyboard. Google's craft suited almost everyone: not lurid themes, comfortable key layout, settings for correcting input text, continuous input, custom dictionaries, the ability to change the height of the keyboard, etc. From the inconvenient, I can only note the need to switch to additional keyboard blocks to enter special characters. Well, switching input languages \u200b\u200bwith a swipe on a space "was not delivered."

What the hell did I install Yandex.Keyboard on Aquaris Yu Plus? Whether in search of a new one, or after an unpredictable surge of patriotism, I don’t know. But, having installed it, I did not delete it, because looking at the "Yandex" keyboard, somehow I did not find any visible differences from Gboard. Unless the language change button has taken refuge to the right of the spacebar (Gboard - to the left), but it also migrated to the left in the extreme version (although you can return it to its old place in the settings).

I am especially touched by the inscriptions on the spaces of both keyboards. Gboard boasts a statement of the current input language, which is sometimes even useful: for example, the letters of English and German are not immediately distinguishable. But Yandex.Keyboard publicly announces that this key is a space! And we didn't know...

But the difference between these keyboards is different: each Yandex.Keyboard key is equipped not only with the main letter of a certain alphabet (Russian or English in my case), but also, in the manner of the physical desktop keyboard, has an additional symbol drawn in gray small print just above the main letter symbol. With a long press on the key, it will be the additional character that will be entered, while the short tap will enter the main character (as in any other keyboard).

There is also a visual and tactile difference: Yandex.Keyboard has smaller side margins, that is, there is less distance from the extreme keys to the edge of the screen. When using a smartphone in a bumper or case, at first it causes some inconvenience: my finger often rested on the side of the bumper, but then I got used to it. But on smartphones with a curved screen or a 2.5D screen, it will be the very thing!

So, it's enough to compare products of different developers; I focus on the local product.

In general, Yandex.Keyboard is very usable. There is a continuous input, there are input hints (including from dictionaries), there is an indication of the key being pressed (increase); earlier there was a switch of languages by a swipe on a space, but in the latest (extreme) version this chip was cut. There is voice input, activated by long pressing the space bar.

I have never used voice input before, probably because there was no need. But for completeness of testing, I tried it, and put the keyboard in obviously difficult conditions: I forced it to record two voices at once - mine and my daughter's. Was funny. We laughed. Yandex.Keyboard tried to write down our laughter with letters/words. We laughed even more. But seriously, I did not think that everything would be so simple with voice input. The main thing is to swallow hot porridge and speak more or less clearly. And don't whisper. You need to pause between sentences, otherwise the keyboard will cram everything into one sentence. But if you pause (a second or two is enough), then a dot will appear and your next words will begin with a new sentence. If the pause is longer than five seconds, the microphone will be muted, but the keyboard will remain in voice input mode. To turn on the microphone, press the button with the microphone symbol.

Let's go over the Yandex.Keyboard settings. They are divided into two tabs: "Design" and, in fact, "Settings".

Under the promising word "design" there is just a choice of topics, of which there are currently six pieces:

  • light gray with black characters without highlighting the keys;
  • light gray with black characters and rectangular white keys;
  • black with white characters and rectangular dark gray keys;
  • dark pink with white characters without highlighting the keys;
  • black with white characters without highlighting keys;
  • dark gray with white characters without highlighting the keys.

    What can I say - the choice is very small, and if you consider that you can not create your own topics, it becomes very sad. Although you can always console yourself with the fact that I should go, not checkers.

    But in settings you can walk around a bit.

    The choice of languages is immediately striking - it is on the top step of the pedestal. The set of languages is not particularly rich, after all, the keyboard is intended for users of post-Soviet countries.

    No more than three languages can be used at the same time. Or two languages and an additional number pad. Or just two languages. Or one language (perhaps with a number pad).

    There are really general settings here regarding both automatic capital letters and dots at the end of a sentence (as well as spaces after punctuation marks), and vibration feedback and key sound, and enabling / disabling the indication of keys (increase), and displaying / using additional characters. It also offers a choice of punctuation mode for voice input: automatically or manually (unfortunately, in auto mode, I saw only dots). You can also enable/disable additional and separate top row for numbers and increase/decrease the overall height of the keyboard.

    Next, we fall into the settings for continuous input, although there is nowhere to fall through there. It is only offered to choose how to use the swipe on the keyboard: to enter text or to switch layouts. I'm somehow not used to continuous input until now, so I use a swipe to switch between languages and an additional numeric keypad.

    The next settings item is more complete, and it concerns the correction of the test. Automatic, I mean, corrections. It is here that you can view your user dictionary, add something to it or correct / delete it. With one movement (but, however, with confirmation), you can clear the entire user dictionary. Next to the settings for auto-correction of the entered words, the "Emoji in hints" item has also become dimmer.

    In addition to the general settings, there are also additional settings. Here you can select the keystroke sound and vibration strength, if you use them. I do not use. You can also enable the display of the search bar from Yandex on the notification panel (if you need it, then please; I like the search bar in Smart Launcher much more). And finally, you can activate the collection of input statistics so that in a month you can tell yourself: I entered one hundred and three (or fifteen million sixty-eight) characters this month.

    And finally - the layout settings. There are also a few points here - only three. The first is the choice of the position of the globe (language switcher). The second is to display a separate semicolon key (separate from the period key). That's a definite plus for this, because commas have to be put quite often and therefore I'm happy with a separate key. But the separate keys for the letters "e" and "b" (this is the third one) are somehow unnecessary for me.

    This is where the settings unexpectedly end, because the "Feedback" and "About the application" items should not be considered as such.

    Additional features (doubtful by necessity)

    There are a few more points in Yandex.Keyboard that are clearly not striking. And in general it is not clear whether they are needed, these moments. I propose to pay attention to the key with three horizontal dots enclosed in a horizontal rectangle. When you click on it, a bunch of so-called emojis appear. Well, everything is to be expected.

    But this is in any other keyboard. In this particular keyboard, emoji is only a quarter of the possibilities of the magic ellipsis. What else? There are also gifs. Isn't it a very necessary thing for any keyboard? In the top row of icon-switches, select the second one - with a picture of the sun over the mountains. GIFs, like emojis, are divided into categories.

    Moving pictures are, of course, great, but here's the result... it's not instantaneous, although it's predictable. I chose, for example, a rabbit in the "Work" section, and what did I get? I received a text link. This link will open the selected GIF with a rabbit in the browser. Of course, it would be more interesting to immediately get a gif in the text, but... But not every document supports gifs, and a potential recipient may not be happy with such an investment. And so there is a choice: either just ignore the link, or open it and ... do something (for example, write in response: "Are you an idiot?").

    The third quarter is the ability to determine your (and not only) location and send it in a message. It is enough to select the "My place" item (GPS must be turned on) and, after making sure that your coordinates are determined correctly, press the Enter key. As a result, we get a text like "I'm here - Russia, Merchant province, village of Nizhnie Vershki". And plus a link for Yandex.Maps or other maps that you deigned to register on your smartphone.

    This is where it might come in handy. I had situations when in an unfamiliar city I could not explain where exactly I am now. And then he sent a couple of lines to "Telegram" or even SMS, and the recipients of such a message will receive both the postal address and coordinates on the map. Convenient, convenient.

    The last possibility is a translation on the fly into the language selected from the list. First, we see a preview in the keyboard window, and after pressing the Enter key, the text in the source language is erased character-by-character and also appears character-by-character, but in another language. The translation animation is beautiful, but slow.

    conclusions

    What do people say about felt-tip pens? Like, the taste and color ... all the markers are different. Well, I don’t know... As for me, all felt-tip pens taste the same. They taste plastic. So virtual keyboards for Android plus or minus are all the same. I used Hackers Keyboard and Gboard for a long time and a dozen others for a short while. If you do not take into account all kinds of synchronization (for example, user dictionaries), put aside continuous input and forget about all sorts of practically unnecessary additional features and chips, then for undemanding users (which I, without hesitation, include myself) all keyboards functionally (did I use this word correctly?) do not differ from each other. The only difference is in color. Like the markers. I seem to lack variety in themes in Yandex.Keyboard, but, on the other hand, I tried using the GO Keyboard and could not come to terms with bright parrot themes (although I must admit that some are very even nothing).

    Thus, Yandex.Keyboard is no worse and no better than other virtual keyboards for Android. I recommend that you use the one you are used to. And Yandex.Keyboard can be installed for the sake of interest, and then, after familiarizing yourself with the capabilities, you can delete it. Or leave. That's your business.

    Even if there are still snowdrifts on the street, but the sun is already bright in spring, so let your mood be joyful and spring. Read Helpix and do not forget to walk more in the fresh air - it's good for your health.

    How to change hotkeys

    Hotkey combinations in different programs may differ. It is clear that if you have been working with the program for a long time and use several combinations to perform certain actions, then you would like these combinations to be used in another program.

    Unfortunately, the developers of the Yandex browser do not give their users such an opportunity, and no matter how much you would like to, you will not be able to change the hotkey combinations.

    Memorize hotkeys in Yandex browser for those actions that you perform most often, and your work with it will become much easier and faster.

    For quick access to the functions of web browsers and other programs, special keyboard shortcuts are actively used. Yandex browser hotkeys allow you to instantly perform an action for which you usually have to use a few mouse clicks. Almost all functions of the web browser from Yandex have shortcut keys, now their number exceeds 50 combinations. Today we will introduce all existing keyboard shortcuts and teach you how to edit them if any combination seems inconvenient.

    There are a lot of keyboard shortcuts in the Yandex browser, it’s quite difficult to remember all of them, and it doesn’t make much sense. We need to choose only those combinations that are most likely to be needed and are of practical use. Some keyboard shortcuts are especially important to remember, as they are universal for most programs. For instance, ctrl+c- copy content, the combination has already become an unspoken standard for all applications.

    Due to the too large list of keyboard shortcuts for the Yandex browser, we divided them into groups according to their purpose.

    Other features

    The browser also has several additional features that do not belong to the previous groups.

    How to independently configure hotkeys in Yandex browser

    Initially, it is not possible to change the Yandex web browser hotkeys. This is due to the high risk of conflict due to setting multiple actions to the same keys. Editing most of the keyboard shortcuts is impractical, as they are used in many desktop programs. It's easier to remember them and use them everywhere.

    It is still possible to change the assignment of the keys using the extension hotkeys. Addition allows you to define some actions on new keys. True, the extension does not know how to change standard button combinations, it only complements existing combinations or duplicates actions on other keys.

    How to change keyboard shortcuts in Yandex browser via Hotkeys:

    All actions in the "Settings" section, although described in English, are intuitive.

    We have already learned all the hotkeys for the Yandex browser that we can use to quickly perform most actions. We also learned how to add new keyboard shortcuts using the Hotkeys extension. With the judicious use of material, surfing through a web browser becomes much more convenient.
