Preparing an update for ios 11 public beta 5. Application for files

On June 27, as promised at the presentation, the first public version of iOS 11 became available. Since I have been working closely with iOS 11 for 3 weeks, I have several reasons that will convince you not to rush to put a public beta on your gadgets. But at the very beginning, I will remind you how you can install it.

iOS 11 Public Beta 1 corresponds to iOS 11 Developer Beta 2 Update 1.

How do I install iOS 11 Public Beta?

Step 1.

We go to the site https://beta.apple.com directly from the device. Scroll to the "Register" button and click on it.

Step 2.

Log in with your Apple ID and password.

Then you need to accept the agreement.

Step 3.

Go to the "Register your devices" tab.

It contains three installation instructions for macOS, iOS 10 and tvOS, which are toggled through dedicated buttons.

Step 4. Install iOS 10 Public Beta

You will need to install a special profile on your iOS device. The iDevice will have a button Upload profile.

Click "Install":

After installing the profiles, go to: Settings-> General-> Software Update and upgrade to iOS 10 Public Beta over Wi-Fi.

Why you shouldn't install iOS 11 right now

First of all, bugs / errors / glitches can become a compelling argument. Call it what you want, but the work with the system can hardly be called ideal. Bugs manifest themselves in everything: from incorrect operation of built-in applications to errors in applications downloaded from the App Store. The developers simply did not have time to fix and update everything everywhere. They have until September.

Do not forget that 32-bit applications will automatically stop running for you. They also cannot be installed from the App Store.

The battery sits down before our eyes. It's the same every year. All of the first beta versions of iOS are draining the battery. It concerns the iPad to a lesser extent. And on the iPhone, I observed a funny bug: the percentage of the charge suddenly began to fall from 27 to 1 right before our eyes with a step of one percent in 3-4 seconds. I was stunned ...

Also, the device on iOS 11 works slower than on iOS 10. This is manifested in the long loading of applications, in delays in animation. I tested it on iPad Air and iPhone 6 Plus. But there were also reviews about the slow work on the iPad Pro. Optimization in early beta versions suffers. More or less, the system only starts working with a clean installation from scratch.

The phone heats up for no reason in some applications. Including when starting the camera. It's a pleasure to watch from time to time how the camera starts up for 5-7 seconds, then the smartphone heats up instantly.

Conclusion: If you are not an avid tester, then I do not recommend updating even to the public beta yet.

Well, good luck to everyone :)

Now anyone can test iOS 11, but not everyone knows how to do it.

We will tell you how to take part in the public beta testing of iOS 11 right now.

  • What to do

All subsequent actions you perform at your own peril and risk.

Step 0... Create a backup copy of your iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch. Here's how to do it.

It comes in handy in case something goes wrong, or you want to roll back to the old firmware. The iOS 11 beta backup is not compatible with iOS 10.3.2.

Step 2... Push Register now and enter data from your Apple ID.

Follow this link and download the profile.

Step 4... We reboot the device, go to Settings -> General -> Software Update.

What if I already have a profile or the beta is not swinging?

Everything is simple here. Necessarily delete the old profile and reboot the device. It's on the menu Settings -> General -> Profiles.

Then follow the steps described above.

That's all, we are waiting for the end of the loading of the operating system and we go to test it. Easy update, brave men!

And macOS High Sierra 10.13, and although the final versions for all users will be provided only in the fall, users participating in the beta testing program can already download the first beta builds right now.

The first beta builds give developers the opportunity to be the first to see the capabilities of the announced future operating systems for Mac computers, iPhone, iPad, Apple TV and Apple Watch devices.

The first builds of macOS 10.13 High Sierra beta 1, beta 1, watchOS 4 beta 1, and tvOS 11 beta 1 systems can already be downloaded and installed by those users who participate in the beta testing program.

If a beta testing profile is installed on iPhones, iPads, and Macs, users of those devices can download the first beta builds of iOS 11 and macOS High Sierra right now through the iOS device settings and through the Mac.

You should always back up your devices before installing beta builds of operating systems. It is well known that beta builds of the OS for developers have serious bugs and bugs, which is why they are not intended for installation by ordinary users. The first assemblies are recommended for installation on non-everyday devices and only for experienced users.

Technically, anyone can purchase a developer license from Apple and access developer software, although this is not recommended. For users suffering from excessive curiosity, we still recommend waiting for the release of the first public beta version.

Where to get public beta versionsiOS11 Public Beta 1andMacOSHigh Sierra 10.13 Public Beta 1?

Apple says the first public beta versions of iOS 11 and macOS High Sierra will be available to interested users at a later date, in late June. This means that it takes a few weeks to show some patience before you can install beta builds on compatible iPhones, iPads, or Macs.

For developers a couple of days ago. The update contains a number of improvements and bug fixes. The most notable changes are new icons for standard applications, Reminders, Maps, etc. A new unlock animation has also been added.

Users who participate in the beta testing program can install the latest update over the air in Settings> General> Software Update. Most of them managed to download and install the beta version of the update without any problems, but some encountered a problem. Sometimes the update hangs on "Preparing to update".

If you decide to wait for the message to disappear on its own, you will be disappointed as it may never disappear. Fortunately, there is a way to fix this problem in no time. Follow the instructions below.

How to fix update erroriOS 11 Beta

To fix the error, you need to delete the update file "over the air" from the device, and then download it again.

    Step 1: Open up Settings.

Step 2: Go to Basic> Storage andiCloud... Wait a couple of seconds for the data to load.

Step 3: A list of all applications and files that are stored on your iPhone will appear. Find and open the iOS update file.

    Step 4: Delete it.

Step 5: Now the file needs to be downloaded again. To do this, go to Settings> General> Software update.

Step 6: You will notice that the "Preparing to update" message has disappeared, and instead a message appears stating that an update is available for download. Click on Download and install.

So the next presentation of Apple has ended, it's time to take a risky try to try the brand new iOS 11. There are enough innovations, but it's better to see for yourself.

Important to know before installing: This is an early beta version for developer information only. The stability of the system can remain a big question, and no one is responsible for the safety of your data. Everything that you do is at your own peril and risk.

Free profiles can be found on the Internet, but you put them at your own peril and risk: Apple monitors this and can remotely bang the profile. And one day you will get a "brick" out of your pocket.

    How to install iOS 11

Step 1... If you have a profile installed for installing beta versions of iOS 10 - remove it.

Step 4... We reboot the device.

Step 5... Go to Settings -> General -> Software Update, let's start downloading iOS 11.

Where to get the device UDID

Step 1... We go to this site from the device on which the firmware is needed.
    Step 2... Downloading a one-time profile, confirm.
Step 3. You will be returned to the site and the UDID will be displayed.

We are waiting for the end of the installation and welcome to iOS 11.
