How to cover up an inscription in Photoshop. How to remove text in Photoshop? How to remove the inscription in the program "Photoshop" by cloning

Have a spectacular photo, but can't use it because of the interfering inscription? You can get out of the situation by using the functions of the Photoshop program. There are several ways to remove the inscription from the image in Photoshop. Even a person who has never used the program before can use them.

fill

This is the easiest option on how to remove the inscription in Photoshop from the picture. It will work if the text is located on a relatively uniform, non-detailed background. It should not have sharp transitions between tones. The sky, blurry forest, wall - inscriptions with similar "backdrops" are easily removed using a fill.

Step-by-step instruction:

  1. Select "Lasso" in the left pane. When you click on the button, three types of lasso are displayed, just click on the first one.
  2. Circle with mouse or stylus graphics tablet the area on which the inscription is located. It is better to do this as close as possible to the outline of the letters themselves.
  3. will appear dotted line, indicating that the text is selected. You need to right-click on the selection and select "Run Fill" from the pop-up menu.
  4. An additional window will appear. In it in top line settings, you need to set the option "Content-aware". So the program will fill the selected area with more than just color. She will try to recreate the texture and color scheme that is presented on the nearest background.

If you use "Fill" on homogeneous parts of the image, the result will be spectacular. It will not be noticeable that the image has gone through additional manipulations.

Note!

If you remove the watermark from a copyrighted image and then use it for commercial purposes, you can get sued. Do not use the tips in this article to steal content.

Healing brush

This method, which allows you to remove the inscription from the image in Photoshop, is similar to the previous one. The only difference is that the Healing Brush tool is more suitable for highly detailed images. If you correctly approach the process, you will be able to restore the texture of tree branches, a complex pattern, etc.

Action algorithm:

  1. Select the appropriate tool on the toolbar.
  2. Of the several variations of the brush, it is necessary to choose a dotted one, since it restores the image most carefully.
  3. AT top panel, opposite the "Type" option, you need to set "Content-Aware". The size of the brush is chosen according to the letters. Well, if it roughly corresponds to the thickness of the font line.
  4. Carefully, one by one, select the letters with a brush, holding left button mice. It is enough to release the button, and the selected area will automatically be restored.

For reference!

The selection area will look a few shades darker.

Removing layers

This method will come in handy if the image is in PSD. This is the file format of Photoshop itself.

Removing text using rasterization is done in a couple of clicks:

  1. Open file. View the list of layers on the right side. Perhaps the inscription added by the author is located on a separate layer. This often happens.
  2. Select the layer on which the text is located. Click "Delete".

The technique will not work with files JPG format and the like.

It happens that he wants to add his own text instead of the deleted one.

How to remove the inscription from the picture and write your own in Photoshop:

  1. Use any of the above methods to delete text.
  2. Click on the text tool. It's an icon with a large T in the left vertical bar.
  3. Click on the part of the image where you want to see the text. A graph will appear. You need to enter an inscription in it.

In the future, the inscription can be modified. In the window on the right, the user can increase or decrease the size, change the font, color and position.

Advice!

Photos with the inscription are best saved in PSD format. Then in the future it will be possible to delete the text by simply selecting it in the program.

So thanks to the most simple functions Photoshop, you can restore the image in high quality or add your own inscription. In rare cases, if the text takes up too much space, the effect of the fill or Healing brush may be too low quality. But even in this case, do not despair: rasterization will help to cope with the problem.

Good day to all my Dear friends. This is tin. Yesterday I got under such heavy rain (downpour) that I got soaked all over, like I don’t know who. The rain poured down like a wall. People almost swam in puddles. Although it seemed the heat was during the day and did not portend anything. This is probably so lucky for me, because just the other day I wrote an article about. So I got caught in the rain in warm weather))). Okay, I'm kidding.

You know? I am constantly looking for some images, and it often happens that I seem to have found a suitable one, but for some reason some kind of left inscription flaunts on it, or an unnecessary date and time. And these scribbles spoil the whole photo. And what then to do? Yes, everything is simple. And today I will just show you how to remove the inscription from the picture in Photoshop in order to enjoy a normal image.

I’ll tell you right away that the methods below are very simple and will not require special skills from you, but the process itself may seem long and drawn out for many. You just need a little patience. Today we will work with a couple of images for different occasions, so turn on your smart heads, take the mice in your hands and let's go!

The easy way

If some kind of inscription interferes with you only somewhere in the corner, for example, the date or the address of the site, then there is nothing complicated at all.

Everything. And were you expecting something more? Well, this is the simplest case. Now let's take a more complicated case.

Combined use of tools

Let's take this wonderful cat with some text on his skin. Yes, here we will not be able to crop. Well, that's okay. We will go the other way. Let's try to remove extra text from a photo of this wonderful kitten.

  1. Take any selection tool, but I would still advise you to take it, and a rectangular one is better.
  2. Now carefully begin to allocate space around the inscription. Just try to do all this as close to the letters as possible so that there are fewer inaccuracies when performing this operation. I would even say that it is better to select one word at a time, and therefore we first circle "I".
  3. Done? Well done. And then, without removing the tool "Lasso", right-click inside the selection and select the item "Perform fill". No, this is not the fill with which we paint over the area, so we will not paint anything with you.
  4. Well, after the window appears, select the item "Content Aware". What do we see now? Not a trace of the inscription remains. Of course, it is best to do this when the background is more or less uniform, or close to it.
  5. So, and then we do all this with the rest of the words, namely "I miss", "Very very" and «...» . Happened? Fine. But as you can see, there are some kosyachki. We will correct them now.
  6. We take the tool "Healing Brush", and set the hardness to be less so that the transition is less rough, and don't forget about the size of the brush too. We have already used this tool when, so you should not have any problems with it.
  7. Do you see we still have some points from the previous processing? That's where we're going to cover them up. To do this, press the key ALT next to any of the flaws and start pointwise or with a little pressure to click on them.
  8. Now, without removing the healing brush, we clamp again ALT and select the donor area in the area of the dark spot below. And then we just need to enlarge this area a little to give it a more original look.
  9. And we also have a bald spot at the top of the back, which remained after we removed the letter. For good reason, we should take wool as a donor, which is located just to the right of the bald spot itself.
Therefore, we now take the tool "Stamp" (I talked about how to use it) and immediately set the size (which corresponds to the width of the donor area, for example 50 ) and put the stiffness of the order 35-40 percent, no more.

That's all. I think it turned out well. Now we have a cool cat without any sign of the inscription.

And by the way, back to the first example. If you want to remove only the date, but without cropping a part of the photo, then you can also simply select it with at least a rectangular area and fill it in the same way. And remove all micro-defects with the same restoring brush or stamp.

Of course, there are situations more difficult, where you have to sweat, and specifically. There, the text climbs into more complex and heterogeneous areas of the image. To do this, simply work in combination with all the tools that we have used here today. The process will be long and you will have to work on every piece. For example, see the image below.

Here the inscription goes to different folds and other areas. The top part is easy to make, but the bottom part is quite difficult. So experiment. First, remove the inscription on a uniform background using a fill, then go to the repair brush and stamp, while not forgetting to change the size and hardness.

For example, I showed you this picture with a seal, and as you can see, it has not been fully finalized yet, since the folds turned out to be a little unnatural. So in a good way it still needs to be brought to a more normal form, but I hope that the very essence is clear to you.

And of course, if you want to know Photoshop well, then look great video tutorials on this topic. AT this video course It has everything you need and it's just great. Look at everything in one breath.

And with that, let me digress. I hope that the article was useful and interesting for you. So don't forget to subscribe to my blog updates and share with your friends in social networks. See you in new and previous articles. Bye Bye!

Sincerely, Dmitry Kostin.

Sincerely, Dmitry Kostin.

Sometimes, great photos can easily be spoiled by some small detail. For example, an inscription that accidentally appeared in the background, but when viewed is so clearly conspicuous that it distracts from the main content of the image and thereby spoils the whole impression. And okay, if this is some kind of sign or something else with a decent content written. But it can happen that an obscene expression will also get into the frame. How to be? You will not show such a photo to friends, relatives, and even more so to the younger generation. But that's how I wanted it. Fortunately, today this problem is no longer insoluble, because with the help of special program Photoshope anyone can edit digital images as he pleases. How to do it?

The easiest way

The easiest way to remove an inscription from a digitized photo is to paint over it with a brush with a pre-selected color. However, this option is applicable only in cases where the background for the inscription is a flat, smooth and one-color surface. For example, this is the board of the ship on which you made a trip around the world (dream like a dream!) And now, in order to impress your friends, you want to remove the name of the ship, entering your name instead.

So, the whole work will consist of two simple operations. First, you need to select the "Pipette" as a working tool. To do this, you will have to find the icon with the corresponding image on the toolbar and click on it with the left mouse button. Now, when you hover over the image, it will change into something very reminiscent of an eyedropper. Having placed its lower end on the main background, you should make a left click. As a result, in the tool palette, the main working color will change and take on the shade of the side of the ship.

To avoid the appearance of a lighter or darker spot in the place of the removed inscription, the “fence” of the color must be made from a point located as close as possible to the border of the letters. You can even do this operation several times in the course of painting, since with the same color, the saturation of the tone in different fragments of the treated area may be different.

For further actions, you need a brush. By selecting this tool, you need to set the appropriate size and softness. Now you can start painting the inscription. You need to do this in small strokes and at the same time constantly make sure that the superimposed strokes merge with the background. If at some point the strokes begin to catch your eye, you should adjust the working color. To do this, you will have to temporarily change the brush to an eyedropper in order to “take a sample” of the background closer to the fragment being processed.

Acting in this way, you can quickly get rid of unwanted inscriptions and even small images. Moreover, if proper diligence is shown, then the cleaned place will merge with the original background just perfectly, so that it will be impossible to detect the craft even with very close examination. In our example, it remains only to put your own in place of the deleted text, for which you can use a special tool, indicated on the corresponding panel with an icon with the letter “T”.

Removing an Overlay

Consider another option - suppose you want to make a montage by pasting your image into a photo with a view of some famous landmark. Or just want to use a picture found on the Internet. But as luck would have it, the picture is “decorated” by a translucent inscription superimposed on top of the image. It will not work to get rid of such a “watermark” by the method described above - here you will have to apply more subtle and time-consuming methods.

AT this case you will need tools such as Stamp or Healing Brush. The first is located on the panel under the icon in the form of a seal, the second is indicated by a picture in the form of a patch.

So, armed with a "stamp", you need to press the ALT key, without releasing it, move the mouse pointer as close as possible to the edge of the inscription, and click the left key. Now the mouse cursor must be placed directly on the piece of inscription located next to the sample just taken, and by pressing the left button, make short stroke-like movements. The mouse button does not need to be released. As you progress, you need to repeat the “sampling” procedure, choosing for this the fragments that are most suitable in color and illumination.

The use of a healing brush will simplify the work, but this is not always acceptable, since with a complex ornament of the drawing itself and its rich color scheme, this tool does not give a high-quality result. But it is convenient to resort to its help when the background is a relatively homogeneous surface. Otherwise, it is better to give preference to "Stamp". An important nuance is that in order to get the best possible result, you will have to use a stamp with the smallest values of diameter and transparency. This will require a lot of patience and perseverance from you, however, these efforts will not be wasted, since not even the slightest trace will remain of the inscription and only you will know that it was once here.

Peter, www.site

Some of the photographs could be called almost flawless. “Approximately” - because when viewed in the background, a certain inscription is suddenly found, strongly distracting the eye from the main characters of the image. The best way to restore the necessary accents of a photo is to remove the inscription in the Photoshop graphics editor.

Instruction

1. Let's consider the easiest way to remove the inscription from the photo. It is possible that the inscription was made on a smooth, evenly colored surface, in particular on the black wall of a bus stop. The background under the inscription is uniform, therefore, without further ado, we will perform two primitive manipulations. Manipulation first. Find an eyedropper in the tool palette and poke it at some point of the background closer to the inscription in order to determine the color we need. Step two - select a brush on the tool palette, select the desired size and softness, you do not need to adjust the color, it is more closely defined with us. Paint over the inscription with short strokes of the brush. Make sure that the strokes completely merge with the background. If in some part of the image the brush strokes become invisible, then you need to correct the color of the brush again using the eyedropper. In less than a minute you will be able to remove the inscription without a trace.

2. But this is only a single and most primitive case of removing the inscription from the photograph. Much more often there are images with a translucent inscription superimposed on a large part of the photo. Occasionally, authors thus try to prevent their work from being copied, this is their full right, we will not learn how to remove copyright. But occasionally such inscriptions are placed easily so let's try to remove one of them.

3. I warn you right away, this work is not easy, to some extent even jewelry. To remove the inscription, you will need a Stamp and a Healing Brush, both of which are hidden on the toolbar behind the icons depicting a stamp and a patch, respectively. The smaller the diameter and transparency of the working tool when working with a stamp, the more solid the removal will be. Hold down the ALT key and click on the background next to the inscription, remembering the photo fragment, the one that you will clone with the stamp. Move the mouse cursor over the inscription and, holding down the left mouse button, start removing the inscription with small strokes, if necessary, selecting more suitable areas of the background. With a relatively uniform background, you can use a healing brush, but a more complex drawing requires careful and careful work with a stamp.

4. If you worked very neatly, then there will literally be no trace of the inscription on the photograph. But still, do not forget that the inscription on the photo is put for some specific purpose, for example, for the purpose of copyright protection. And even if you managed to completely remove the copyright mark, you will not get the rights to use the image by doing so.

Occasionally it happens that you really need a great thematic photo that you found on the Internet - but for some reason this photo is crossed out with a watermark in the form translucent text, reminding everyone of the copyright of the photo and preventing its illegal use. However, you can get rid of such translucent text in order to use the photo as intended.

Instruction

1. To do this, upload a photo to Adobe Photoshop and neatly highlight all the text silhouettes on the watermark. To select, use the mask, Pen Tool or Lasso Tool. After the selection is made, duplicate it on the newest layer by clicking on the selected area with the right mouse button and choosing the option Layer via Copy. You can also easily duplicate a layer by clicking the Duplicate Layer option.

2. Change the blending mode of the layers - in case of different tiers of text transparency, you may need various modes. Choose the blending mode (Blending Mode), in which the text will be completely absent from the image - say, Multiply.

3. The text will disappear, and the colors in its place will correspond as closely as possible to those that must be in a genuine photograph in these places. However, in some areas the colors may differ - in this case, select the desired area and duplicate it on the newest layer, then merge this layer with the bottom one, preferring the option in the layers palette Merge Down.

4. On the toolbar, select the Smudge option and carefully blur the color transitions with a soft brush in order to make them inconspicuous.

5. Re-select the isolated text layer and erase those fragments of the inscription that match in color with the photo after the metamorphosis of the layer blending mode. The remaining fragments, which differ in color from the original photo, process again, changing the layer blending modes until the result suits you.

6. Use the Burn and Dodge tools to darken and brighten some parts of the image.

2. Click with the left mouse button on any point of the figure's silhouette on Photo, and begin to diligently draw a line along the contour. The nodes of the selected silhouette will be mechanically attracted to the silhouette, therefore, to use this tool, it is necessary that the figure be contrasting with respect to background y.

3. From time to time adjust the direction of the line with mouse clicks. Unite the ends of the line by closing the silhouette of the selection, and later press the key combination Ctrl + Shift + I, or open the Select menu and select the Inverse function.

The Magnetic Lasso Tool is not suitable for use in cases where the image has a difficult silhouette - for example, when you need to select from the main background and together with the figure, flowing hair or a lush hairstyle. In this case, select the Background Eraser Tool from the toolbar - an eraser that allows you to erase background new image. Set the Tolerance parameter to 25% and select the desired brush size.

6. Erase gently with an eraser background around the figure, highlighting difficult silhouettes. Completely eliminating background New drawing, copy the human figure to the newest layer and use it for a photo montage.

When creating collages, it often becomes necessary to replace the back plan images, or move the bar element to the newest background. Adobe Photoshop offers several methods for this operation.

Instruction

1. If the main piece is a hefty intricate shape, it may be easier to highlight the background around it. Press Q to switch to swift mask editing mode, or use this option on the toolbar. With a coarse black brush, paint over the background that you are going to remove. You will see that the image is covered with a transparent red film - a protective mask.

2. If you inadvertently hit the rod fragment, set the color of the front plan and white and swipe the brush over the area from which you want to remove the mask. When the background is painted over, press Q again to return to normal mode. You will make sure that there is a selection around the main element.

3. There is another method. Sweep on the toolbar Magnetic Lasso Too (“Magnetic Lasso”). Click the mouse at any point on the silhouette of the object and move the cursor over the outline. If the element blends in color with the background, click on the object in difficult places so that the tool distinguishes shades. It is allowed to increase the value of Frequency ("Frequency") - the frequency of the arrangement of knots, in order to more accurately determine the shape of the object. To cancel a false step, press Backspace.

Make a copy of the image with the key combination Ctrl + J and apply a Median to the resulting layer, opening the settings using the Median option of the Noise group of the Filter menu. At the same time, the silhouettes of the rest of the drawing will be thoroughly blurred, but the initial version of the picture remains at your disposal, this can be corrected.
