How to make a print screen on a lenovo laptop. How to take a screenshot (screenshot) on a laptop

There are two ways to take a screenshot of the screen (from the English "screenshot") of a laptop:

  1. Without the use of additional programs (using only the capabilities of Windows);
  2. Using special programs for taking screenshots, which have advanced capabilities, for example, they allow you to capture the mouse cursor (screen with cursor).

In this article, we will consider these two methods.

How to take a screenshot without additional software

On the keyboard of any laptop or netbook based on the IBM architecture, i.e. on all devices working under Windows control, there is a button with captions PrtSc and SysRq(PrtScn can be written instead of PrtSc - this does not change the essence of the matter).

Laptop keyboard

In this particular case, we photographed the keyboard of the powerful ACER Aspire V3-771G gaming laptop, but the key we are interested in is also on other laptops.

So, the PrtSc inscription is an abbreviation of the English word "Print Screen" - it can be translated as "screen print". In order to take a screenshot ("take a picture" of what is displayed on the laptop screen), we perform the following steps:

Step 1. Press the PrtSc key, after which the image is saved in the clipboard. The clipboard is a special area in random access memory the computer in which the data is stored when copying and transferring;

Step 2. Now we need to save the contents of the clipboard (screenshot) to non-volatile memory (by HDD or USB flash drive). To do this, you can use the graphics editor Paint, which is available on any laptop or netbook with Windows operating system. Launch Paint Button Start> All Programs> Accessories> Paint and press the "Insert" button (you can press the combination CTRL keys+ V), then the screenshot will appear in the editor.

Screenshot pasted into Paint from clipboard

Step 3. It remains to choose an image format and save the screenshot on your laptop. Press the save button or the CTRL + S key combination. Select the location to save the screenshot - as an example, I chose the Yandex.Disk folder, ie. the screenshot will be saved not only on home computer but also on a server on the Internet. We also specify the file name and file type. By default, screenshots in Paint (Windows 7) are saved in PNG format... For photographs, formats such as JPEG, BMP and TIFF are also suitable. After the necessary settings, click the "OK" button.

Screenshot software

In many cases, it is necessary to take a screenshot with the cursor, for example, when creating tutorials. In this case, you can use special programs designed to take and process screenshots. One such program is ScreenHunter, a free version of ScreenHunter Free, can be downloaded from this link >>

In order for the program to capture the cursor, the settings must have a check mark next to the "Mouse pointer" item - by default this checkbox is already checked.

ScreenHunter allows you to capture the cursor

Even free version ScreenHunter software has a wide range of capabilities:

  • Capture both the entire screen and the selected area;
  • Capture the cursor;
  • Saving a screenshot at the same time in GIF, JPEG and BMP formats - of course, you can choose only one format for saving screenshots;
  • Choosing a place to save screenshots;
  • Quick capture by pressing the configured key - by default "F6".

That's all we planned to tell you about taking screenshots. As additional information let's say that if your laptop or netbook is running a Linux operating system, for example Ubuntu, then after pressing Print keys Screen, you can immediately save a screenshot in the selected format. In this regard, Linux is more convenient than Windows.

Screenshot of laptop screen

A screenshot of a laptop screen is great as visual information. The reader immediately understands what is at stake, and he quickly solves his problem. And this is exactly what he needs!

As you already understood, a screenshot is a screenshot of a certain electronic device, which gives out various visual information of certain content.

A monitor can act as a device personal computer, smartphone, tablet and other gadgets.

Some experienced Internet users will say: what's so difficult about that? Taking a screenshot of the screen on a laptop is a piece of cake. However, for those new to the Internet, taking a screenshot raises a lot of questions. They don't know how to do it.

In order not to look for examples somewhere far away, I will say to myself. I also did not know how to take screenshots from the monitor screen. In order to find out how to do this, I wrote in the request "to take a screenshot of the screen on a laptop" and studied this information.

If you have this moment a similar situation, then you can resolve it by reading this article. In it I will describe in detail how to take a screenshot of the screen on my laptop with two different ways.

How to take a screenshot of the screen. Print screen button

One of the easiest ways to take a screenshot of your screen is with the Print Screen button. I have prepared a photo for you so that you understand how it looks on a laptop keyboard and where it is located:

On a PC keyboard, this button is located elsewhere. But most importantly, you know what it looks like, and now you can easily find it.

Now press it briefly. Some will eagerly say that nothing has changed and it does not work.

However, there is no need to rush. It is also not worth looking for a screenshot in the download files. He's just not there.

Your screenshot is only saved in the memory buffer. In order to extract it from there, you need to use the graphic editor Paint, which is installed along with the operating system and is available to everyone.

It seems to me that many people know this editor. If you do not know where it is, then go to the Start menu, then Programs - Accessories - Paint:

Then open it by clicking the left mouse button. After that, press the key combination Ctrl + V and your screenshot will be inserted into the main field of the program. Now you can edit it.

This is how you can easily take a screenshot of the screen on a laptop. And most importantly, this method is suitable for everyone, because it works in any version of the Windows operating system.

But there is another way to take screenshots, even faster than the previous one.

Take a screenshot of the screen using the Scissors tool

So, taking a screenshot of the screen using "scissors" is a great way, but you can only use it if your laptop has an operating system. Windows system 7 or 8.

Windows XP will not work. There, such a tool is simply absent.

To use the "scissors" go to the same folder where Paint was located. Namely in Standard programs... Now open the scissors:

Immediately after that, you will see your cropped shot in front of you. Now you can edit it as you like:

That's all. In this article, I talked about two easy ways, with which you can easily take a screenshot of the screen on a laptop. See you soon in my new articles! Bye.

When dealing with work on a laptop, each and every PC user periodically has to replenish his vocabulary with new, not always understandable words that are associated with the performance of a particular computer task. However, if almost everyone has already got used to such funny terms as "distribution", "installation", "screen resolution" and continue to arise. Our manual works with any brand of laptop (Toshiba, HP, Lenovo, Samsung, Asus, Sony Vayo and others).

Is it bad luck? Hardly, given that we have several effective solutions in stock for it! But first, a little theory, you don't mind, right?

Screenshot, print screen and screen photo: is there a difference?

Remember when we were children we were asked to find the differences between two pictures? So, when dealing with the concepts of "screenshot", "photo of the screen" and "print screen" ("printscreen"), we will not have to deal with this. Why? Yes, because all these terms reflect the result of the same process, namely, creating a photograph of the entire laptop screen or a separate part of it using hot keys or special computer programs... Got the idea? No?

Method number 1: We work with "Scissors"

Perhaps the fastest and easiest way to create printscreens on a laptop is to use the Scissors program built into Windows. For reference: you can find it in the "Start" menu in the "Standard" section or by using the corresponding query in the "Start" search bar:

I must say that the program looks quite simple. For example, in Windows 7 it is presented in the following design:

Meanwhile, the laconic design of the utility's interface hides very extraordinary possibilities. So, with the help of "Scissors" you can easily create a screenshot of the entire screen or a separate active window, giving the finished print screen the desired shape - a standard rectangular or any other at your own discretion, as well as editing it at a later stage. At the same time, after working for a minute with the settings in the "Parameters" of the program, you just need to activate the function of copying fragments to the clipboard or specifying a URL when working with HTML:

Actually, in order to make a screenshot on a laptop with the help of "Scissors", it is enough to press the "Create" button after starting such a program and select, adhering to the borders of the appeared frame, the necessary fragment of the screen. After this is done, the selected area of the monitor screen will be displayed in the utility window:

If desired, you can immediately add an inscription or a graphic drawing to the finished screenshot in the program. To do this, just turn to the "Marker" or "Pen" functions:

As for the possibility of saving the print screen created with the help of "Scissors" in the laptop's memory, here, frankly, there is freedom for users. Why is that? Perhaps, because after pressing Ctrl + S, corresponding to the execution of the "Save As" function, the program will not only offer us to choose the location for storing the image, but also provide us with the opportunity to determine the appropriate format (file type) for it. Quite convenient, isn't it?

And finally, I must say that the print screen obtained in the "Scissors" program can be automatically sent by e-mail by clicking the corresponding button in it. True, in this case, the computer must be installed and connected in advance. Microsoft Outlook... But this is, say, a completely different story.

Method number 2: We use "hot keys"

Another very common option for taking screenshots on a laptop is associated with the use of the so-called "hot keys" located on the keyboard. Which ones? Where is the print screen on the laptop? First of all, the PrtSc buttons (there are also the names PrintScreen, Prt Scr) or the PrtSc + Fn combinations (if they are marked on the keyboard with the same color):

Note that with their help it will be quite easy to "photograph" the entire monitor screen in full:

At the same time, needing to take a screenshot of a separate (active) window, this key combination will have to be replaced with the Alt + PrtSc combination, so as not to suffer in the future with cropping the resulting image:

It seems to be easy, right? However, in practice, this method has "serious" problems. What's the point? Perhaps the fact is that one press of the "hot key" is not enough to save the resulting screenshot. How so? Where is the screen saved? The finished photo is not saved in the computer's memory as a separate picture, but is temporarily placed in the clipboard, from which it will have to be “taken out” in the future. True, this can be done in different ways.

So, if you want to send a screenshot with the message "Vkontakte", after pressing PrtSc, it will be enough to open the corresponding section of the social network, and then press Ctrl + V on the keyboard. At the same time, if you need to place the resulting print screen in Word document, after starting such a program, you just need to click the "Insert" button in it:

Is the meaning clear? Then let's move on to the more difficult part, namely, saving the photo as a full-fledged image. What is the difficulty here? Perhaps, in order to successfully complete such a task, we will have to use not only “ hotkey", but also complementary programs and services, for example, the same "Microsoft Office Picture Manager", Paint, GIMP, Picasa, Photoshop or a similar utility.

In particular, in order to create a screenshot using Paint, which, it should be noted, is available on absolutely all Windows computers, after pressing PrtSc (or Alt + PrtSc), open this program, press Ctrl + V at the same time, and then save the image in a suitable format using the "Save" button:

In Paint, we note that, if you wish, it will be possible to pre-edit the resulting screenshot by adding an inscription, fill or drawing to it, changing its format, size, etc. Everything, one way or another, depends only on you!

Method number 3: "Straining" special programs

In those cases when the "hot keys" or "Scissors" for some reason failed to fulfill the functions assigned to them to create print screens, you can easily entrust the implementation of this "heavy" mission with special screener programs. In particular, it is worth asking for help such software brainchilds as Lightshot, FastStone Captur, Bandicam, Screenshot Captor, Greenshot, EasyCapture, DuckCapture, Dropbox, Clip2Net and the like.

So, in order to take a screenshot in the Bandicam program, after launching it, select the screen mode in the settings menu, then adjust the “camera” lens, having previously indicated the desired image size in the window that appears, and, finally, click the “photo” icon:

At the same time, special "hot keys" can be set in the program, which will allow you to make print screens at any suitable moment for this. You just need to pre-select the appropriate settings for Bandicam:

As for saving ready-made screenshots, there is no need to waste time on this process, since the utility independently saves and transfers all images obtained with its help to the Bandicam folder created on the computer.

At the same time, an excellent option for creating and quickly editing print screens on a laptop will be a program, the distribution of which is absolutely free to download for users of different operating systems including Windows, Ubuntu and Mac OS. How does it work? Surprisingly simple! So, after a minute of installing Lightshot on a laptop, it will be enough to press the PrtSc button on the keyboard to display the photographing field on the screen:

By adjusting its size, we can effortlessly shape the future screenshot into a suitable shape. After this is done, we only need to edit the resulting image, if necessary, and then save it using the appropriate button in the program:

As for editing a screenshot, Lightshot provides users with the ability to add a drawing, a fill, and an arrow, line or square to the image in addition to text. At the same time, the program is endowed with keys quick access, which in one click provide printing of a prince, copying it to the clipboard, as well as sending it straight to social networks or uploading it to the utility's official website. At the same time, Lightshot is practically invisible on a laptop, due to the fact that such a software miracle weighs a little more than 2.5 MB.

Well, as you can see, taking a screenshot on a laptop is a snap. In this case, the main thing is only to choose the method that suits you. Good luck!
