The trends are such that this year the 5-inch diagonal has become the gold standard for the most equipped top-end smartphones from most manufacturers.
Given the appetizing price tag, we did not expect particularly high-quality materials and good assembly from the MultiPhone 5000 DUO, and we were pleasantly surprised. The smartphone turned out to be exceptionally pleasant to the touch, and fingerprints do not cause inconvenience, despite the fact that almost all surfaces are glossy. Silver inserts on the sides add a special charm.
At the same time, the smartphone is quite large and weighs 199 g. Therefore, if you have previously used more compact models with a 3-4-inch screen, you will have to get used to it at first. But after a few days, we no longer wanted to return to a more modest diagonal.
If desired, the device could be made already by reducing the rather wide frames around the screen. On the other hand, the frames have a practical benefit - they prevent accidental touches.
Before buying the MultiPhone 5000 DUO, we recommend that you turn the device in your hands in order to understand how comfortable it will be for you personally. In our case, managing the smartphone with one hand did not cause any difficulties at all, the dimensions turned out to be quite comfortable.
The display is the most attractive and, at the same time, controversial part of this model. On the one hand, a 5-inch diagonal in a smartphone for 2000 hryvnia is a definite plus. On the other hand, upon close examination, individual pixels are visible on the display, after all, the resolution is 800x480. Demanding users, spoiled Retina displays, this can be confusing, but in practice there is no discomfort - the display copes with its tasks quite well.
The screen supports Multitouch (up to five simultaneous touches), and glass is used as a coating. This is not the popular Gorilla Glass, however, it performed well during operation. In addition, the complete cover helps a lot.
In the sun, the display fades, but there are no special problems with reading the inscriptions, the main thing is to find the right angle.
At the ends of the device are the usual volume buttons (on the left) and the power / unlock key (on the right). The headphone and charger jack is where it should be - on top. A small slot on the bottom edge serves to remove the cover. It is removed quite difficult, but it does not play and does not creak. Under the lid is the battery, two SIM card slots and a microSD slot.
On the whole, the MultiPhone 5000 DUO is well assembled, leaves an exceptionally pleasant impression and looks clearly more expensive than its price.
The smartphone is based on a dual-core MTK MT6577 processor with a frequency of 1.2 GHz, random access memory is 512 MB, and the storage capacity is 4 GB, and we recommend that you immediately install a memory card for 8, and preferably 16 GB.
This will allow you to fully reveal the capabilities of the device, as well as update the firmware without connecting to a PC (updated files are downloaded to a memory card). Iron, frankly, is not flagship, but it is a good average level.

The operating system is Android 4.1.1 with a number of additions from Prestigio. So, in the status bar, you can quickly disable and enable wireless modules (handy for saving battery power), there is a proprietary e-book reader (Prestigio eReader), as well as Office Suite and a good file manager.
The MultiPhone concept assumes the possibility of simultaneous operation with two SIM-cards, the slots for which are hidden under the rear surface of the device. At the same time, 3G is supported by the card installed in the first slot. Otherwise, the DualSIM settings are standard - you should specify which card will be used by default for outgoing calls, and which one for SMS and mobile Internet.
One of the advantages of the MultiPhone 5000 DUO is good autonomy. For this, the smartphone was equipped with a 2200 mAh battery. As a result, the device can confidently hold out for a day and a half with fairly active use. In emergency cases, an increase in autonomy, in addition to disabling wireless modules, can give up the DualSIM mode.

Of the entire package, only the cover deserves attention. It is made of leatherette, the inside is covered with a soft red material, tactilely similar to velvet. The smartphone is easy to put into the case and it fits perfectly in it, however, removing it is a big problem, since the case does not have a pull tab. You have to pull out the smartphone while holding it with two fingers, resulting in a smudged camera eye. In addition, the phone sits firmly in the case, and it is very difficult to pull it out.
Design, materials, controls, assembly
Externally, the smartphone does not stand out in any way: a black faceless bar with a silver rim and the Prestigio logo on the back.
The entire front part is occupied by a 5 ”screen, above it there is a speaker mesh, a front camera and proximity / lighting sensors (although they are not visible in the photo, but they are).
Three touch buttons are hidden under the screen: "Menu", "Home" and "Back".
Rear part The device is made of black glossy plastic, it quickly gets dirty and smeared with prints. In addition, such plastic also slides in the hand, so the smartphone sometimes tries to slip out.
And here's an amazing thing, in one of the conversations with representatives of Prestigio, they told me about how their devices are assembled. I was assured that the company can influence the choice of case materials. And what do we see? Terribly impractical, easily soiled, glossy plastic, which quickly gets dirty and is completely inconvenient in everyday use. Why this material was chosen, I do not understand. By the way, the white version of the smartphone will also be on sale.
On the right side there is a power button, it protrudes a little, it is quite easy to find it blindly. Pressing the button is short, with a characteristic click. It is convenient that this button is located on the side.

The smartphone has a removable cover, to remove it, you need to pull the groove located on the bottom. Inside are two slots for SIM-cards and a slot for a microSD memory card (cards up to 32 GB are supported).
The phone is perfectly assembled, there are no squeaks, backlashes or gaps, the only complaint is the easily soiled glossy cover.
Screen
The display diagonal is five inches, the resolution is 800x480 pixels, the matrix type is TFT-TN, multi-touch is supported up to five simultaneous touches, the protective coating is glass. The screen has an oleophobic coating, when “swiping” with your fingers, they do not get stuck, and this is a huge plus for the budget segment. Supports automatic brightness control.
I'll start with the good. With this resolution, this screen looks the best quality, the picture is bright, clear, you can’t even say that the resolution is WVGA, the display is great for reading books and websites.
But the viewing angles let us down, with the slightest deviation back, the colors fade, and if you tilt the screen towards you, the colors are inverted. There are no problems with the corners on the sides.
I was pleasantly surprised by the screen in the MultiPhone 5000, as I assumed that pixelation would be very noticeable on such a diagonal. However, it is almost invisible, and if it were not for the viewing angles, the display would have been wonderful at all.
As for the behavior in the sun, the screen is completely blind, it is almost impossible to read the information.
Dimensions
Like other five-inch smartphones from B-brands, Multiphone 5000 has two characteristic features - it is heavy and thick. It feels great in the hand, but to work with it, I would recommend using both hands, since it is very convenient to enter the same text with both hands at such a diagonal.

When testing a smartphone, I encountered the following problem: when installing applications, a message appeared stating that it was not possible to put the program on a USB drive or memory card. I don’t know what this is connected with, but the problem was solved when I installed my memory card.
In everyday tasks (browsing tables, web surfing, twitter, mail), the smartphone performed well, everything works quickly and without slowdowns. As for the video, then you can hardly watch something in a resolution higher than 720p. With games, too, not everything is going smoothly, since the volume internal memory does not allow you to install more than one heavy game. However, you can play simple casual games without any problems.
Offline work
The smartphone has a removable lithium ion battery capacity 2200 mAh.
In reading mode (brightness 10% + airplane mode), the device lasted almost 14 hours.
In HD video mode (720p, 100% brightness + airplane mode), the battery lasted about 7 hours.
With everyday use (two active SIM-cards, an hour and a half of the screen on (mail, twitter, reader)) the smartphone worked for two days. If you use it more actively, then it can guarantee you a full day without recharging.

The interface for work is standard: in the settings you specify from which card the call, SMS will go by default and from which - Mobile Internet. In general, there are no complaints about the work of two SIM cards, it is convenient to connect the Internet from MegaFon, and use the connection from MTS.

Bluetooth 2.1– all popular profiles are supported, including A2DP.
GPS- my sample could not catch the GPS receiver signal, I also met reviews on w3bsit3-dns.com with this problem. The company replied that this is not the norm for all samples, and if such a marriage occurs, you can contact the service center.

The smartphone has two cameras, the main one is 5 MP and the front one is 0.3 MP. You can easily remove the text from the device, but for those who like to take pictures, it is clearly not suitable.

The average cost of a model in stores is seven thousand rubles. For this money, you get a large five-inch smartphone with a capacious battery, a decent (for its resolution) screen, one of the latest android versions and dual SIM support. Also, from the additional bonuses, one can note a two-year manufacturer's warranty, which most other brands do not have. The disadvantages are as follows: a slippery and easily soiled back cover, an uncomfortable case and incomprehensible operation of the device without a memory card.
Who is this smartphone suitable for? It seems to me that it will be convenient for users who like to read from their phone and need long battery life and support for two SIM cards.

In general, I am a little disappointed, at one time at the Prestigio presentation they talked about the fact that they pay a lot of attention to detail. But in reality, I see a lot of details that were missed, for example, a glossy case (despite the fact that the company can influence the choice of material back cover, it turns out, this is a conscious decision!), A completely uncomfortable case and a bad headset. These are all trifles, but these are the same important details that give the impression of the device.
And a few more personal impressions (I do not pretend to be objective in any way): in my opinion, you should not look at smartphones with a five-inch screen and a resolution of 800x480 pixels or a TN-matrix (we are talking about competitors). You, most likely, take a smartphone for a long time, and this screen will be with you all the time. That is why I recommend paying a little more than two thousand and looking towards Explay HD. Yes, it is more expensive, for this money you will get a full HD resolution and an excellent IPS matrix, the rest of the characteristics are similar, but it is the screen that plays a key role, Roman showed me this smartphone, and the fact that such displays are put in devices for 9 thousand, of course, is impressive. Do not save, because you do not buy smartphones every month.
On the other hand, the operating time of the same Prestigio is almost twice as long (due to a lower resolution and a larger battery capacity). In general, the budget segment is always a compromise, and in this case it's worth deciding whether you want to sacrifice the screen for the sake of battery life, or vice versa.
