More than a year ago, Highscreen released the most successful long-lived smartphone Power Five (review), which still remains one of the best gadgets with the largest battery on the market. Building on the success of such a model is not easy, but Highscreen tried to do it with the "evolutionary" Power Five evo... The device has improved in many respects (in particular, the AMOLED panel, which has caused a lot of criticism, has not become, now IPS is used) and retained its main feature- 5000 mAh battery. Let's see if it has become Highscreen Power Five Evo is a worthy successor of the Power Five tradition. The novelty costs 11,990 rubles (3,000 rubles cheaper than its predecessor).

Higscreen Power Five Evo specifications:

  • Network: GSM / GPRS / EDGE (850/900/1800/1900 MHz), 3G / HSPA + (900/2100 MHz), 4G / LTE (Band 1, 3, 7, 20, 38, 40)
  • Platform: Android 5.1 Lollipop
  • Display: 5 ", 1280x720 pixels, 294 ppi, Plastic AMOLED, IPS, 5-point multitouch
  • Camera: 13 MP, autofocus, f / 2.2, flash, video recording [email protected]
  • Front camera: 5 MP, f / 2.8
  • Processor: 8 cores, 1.3 GHz, 64 bits, MediaTek MT6753
  • Graphics chip: Mali-T720
  • RAM: 2 GB
  • Internal memory: 16 GB
  • Memory card: microSDHC
  • GPS, GLONASS
  • Bluetooth
  • Wi-Fi (802.11b / g / n)
  • 3.5mm headphone jack
  • microUSB
  • Two micro-SIM slots
  • Battery: non-removable, 5000 mAh
  • Dimensions: 142x70x9.6 mm
  • Weight: 168g

Complete set and design

Power Five Evo came to us without a box and accessories, but we know that in addition to the phone, customers also receive a power supply, USB cable, headphones, protective glass and a set of documentation. The device is available in four colors (white, gray, brown and gold), we got the last one. The front panel in all modifications is black, there is no "pseudo bezel-less", as in the first Power Five, in this model.

The Highscreen Power Five Evo is an all-plastic smartphone. The sides are made of plastic under the metal, and removable back cover- made of rough plastic, pleasant to the touch. Much less rough than, for example, Flash 2 (review), therefore perceived soft and delicate. Cool cover. Under it is a non-removable battery, a pair of micro-SIM slots and a microSD tray between them (according to Chinese tradition, it is marked as T, that is, TFlash). The battery of our sample has the name of the original model: Ramos M7. Quite unexpected, because most of the Highscreen Power smartphones are made by Gionee. The lid also contains the speaker holes, with overlapping two bumps fighting. They are quite sharp, I almost cut myself once.

There are no complaints about the assembly of the device, it is perceived as completely monolithic. Over time, the lid will most likely no longer fit as tightly as in the first days of use, but this is a necessary evil when using removable lids. Ergonomics are not ideal, but such is the price of using a 5000 mAh battery. However, it could be much worse: a small weight for a long-liver (168 g), slightly rounded ends and a good location of the keys on the side ends save the day in many ways.

One of the main drawbacks of the Highscreen Power Five was the 5 "AMOLED screen with an easily distinguishable diagonal grid and inversions under slight tilts. The Power Five Evo does not have any of this, since Ramos used an IPS display in this smartphone (the same resolution - HD). A typical inexpensive panel of this type: good brightness, excellent viewing angles, temperature changes at diagonal slopes (strongly noticeable only on dark background) and slightly cool color rendition. Five-point multitouch, no oleophobic coating. There are three touch-sensitive keys under the screen. The "back" arrow is directed to the right, for which I want to strongly curse the designer Ramos.

Software

Highscreen Power Five Evo is based on the Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system with little or no changes from the manufacturer. Some icons have been redrawn here, as well as a standard set of MTK-backgrounds functions (sound enhancements Bes, image correction system on the MiraVision screen, power saving in standby mode) have been added. The translation into Russian is normal, no glitches and crashes of standard applications were noticed during testing (except that the first time it was turned on, there was some kind of nonsense in the battery settings). In my opinion, the stock firmware with minor modifications is better than other Chinese fantasies (I have never used the Ramos shell, so I cannot compare it specifically with it).

There is support for wireless updates. Highscreen already released one of these, it brought fixes for some crashed features and also removed features that weren't working. The utility for installing updates (combo!) Has also been updated.

Pre-installed apps

Camera

The Highscreen Power Five Evo has a 13MP camera with f / 2.2 aperture. It is proposed to shoot using standard application unchanged by the creators of the device. The camera boasts that it does not mix up small details (tree branches, for example, they always remain separate branches), making the most of the camera's resolution. At the same time, mistakes with white balance are not uncommon, and pictures often turn out to be a little underexposed. In general, the quality of the photos is average. Study examples:

The 5-megapixel camera with f / 2.8 aperture is perfect for video calls, and the selfies on it are quite decent. However, there is nothing outstanding in it. Video to the main camera is recorded in [email protected], when you first shoot, do not forget to rearrange the quality to "Best". The sound is recorded with high quality, you can hear both the speaker and the noise around. Digital stabilization compensates for shaking, forcing parts of the frame to "float" relative to each other. Autofocus does not work during video shooting, the change of focal length is exclusively manual.

Performance and benchmarks

One of the most notable improvements in the Highscreen Power Five Evo is more powerful hardware. The smartphone uses an eight-core MediaTek MT6753 chipset with a frequency of 1.3 GHz, it includes a Mali-T720 video accelerator. The amount of RAM is 2 GB, built-in - 16 GB. 1.4 GB and 11.15 GB are available to the user, respectively. There is nothing new in such a bundle for us, and its behavior in games is quite predictable. Asphalt Extreme comes with comfortable fps values even on improved graphics, but in Unkilled it is better not to set the maximum speed - low frequency frames will, if not interfere with the game, then an eyesore for sure. More simple games Hungry Shark World or Dan the Man, for example, are perfect. The screen resolution is 720p.

Running AnTuTu three times showed no performance degradation, but a longer GFXBench test showed it. This means that the chipset tries to maintain good frequencies for a long time, but then it still gives up. This is due to heating. Despite the plastic case, the upper part gets hot under load, it is unpleasant to hold it. Most of all, the glass that protects the camera and the flash burns (it is one here - apparently, Ramos wanted to portray a semblance of a double iPhone cameras 7 Plus).

Show video
Asphalt Extreme

As for autonomy - the main feature of the Power Five Evo - I have to admit that Ramos is not a Gionee or a JSR. The Chinese tablet manufacturer does not have such an ability to squeeze the maximum out of the battery, forcing the smartphone to work for a week without recharging. Therefore, in the video display mode, the smartphone was discharged not in 20 hours, like its predecessor, but twice as fast. In Asphalt Extreme, the discharge was 17% per hour, that is, you can play on a single charge for up to 6 hours. This is also less than the Power Five. You can blame the IPS screen for everything, but Gionee can do wonders even with IPS (remember the 14.5 hours of video at 4000 mAh for the Highscreen Power Four).

And yet I'm too critical. 10 hours of video and 6 hours of games are good results. This is much better than the average 3000mAh budget phone. Power Five Evo stands out from the competition good time work without recharging, but it is very far from the Power Five records. Two days of active use (6-7 hours of the screen) Evo will pull out without difficulty, but you can't count on recharging 1-2 times a week.

conclusions

The Highscreen Power Five Evo is a rather strange development of the Power Five model. The evolutionary process followed the path of catagenesis: the pleasant AmigoUI shell was replaced by stock Android (which, of course, is also good), the camera did not shoot much better at the increased resolution, and the battery began to hold noticeably worse (although it is still better than in the models - short-lived). But we must not forget that the price has become lower, the model costs only 11,990 rubles. At the same time, it offers an eight-core processor and a peculiar, pleasant-to-touch case. The Power Five Evo is not a bad budget employee, but if you need maximum autonomy, take a closer look at last year's model.

Smartphone manufacturers seem to have changed direction, and now the race is for milliampere-hours, that is, power and battery life, and not for gigabytes and inches. This is not surprising at all, given the fact that Apple products, with which many brands compete behind the scenes, are distinguished by just insignificant battery power. At the last Apple presentations introduced a smartphone with even less battery power. Brands and young companies are trying to create a gadget that will be less dependent on the volume of the battery.

That is why it is interesting to know the reviews about the Highscreen Power Five Evo. This phone was invented in Russia, but made in China. It has not yet become a popular trend, but it has earned a good rating from many experts and ordinary users. The smartphone is easily and quickly sold out in mobile stores, because it combines everything that buyers of the gadget really appreciate. This is the price, and performance, and the convenience of communication with service center and consultants.

What are the reviews from the owners of the Highscreen Power Five Evo? What do users like about a smartphone and what not? What features are especially useful?

"Russian Chinese". Production secrets

The Russian company is a smartphone developer. In addition to him, there are also video recorders and accessories for gadgets. The peculiarity of the developers is to offer the buyer a balance of the latest technologies and reasonable prices, while at the same time with the high quality of the product itself and service. The company has its own website and online store, "Hayscreen" regularly provides news about itself and about promotions. The actual and legal address of the company is registered in Moscow.

The Highscreen Power Five Evo is, as mentioned, made in China. There was no widespread advertising, but he found his buyer. Or buyers found it. Among the latter, by the way, there are different reviews and ratings. And yet they agree on one thing: this is a very good option among other state employees.

Let's move on to reviews of the Highscreen Power Five Evo smartphone.

Powerful state employee

Before deciding to buy, you need to decide what characteristics a smartphone should have, what functions and capabilities you need. What Highscreen Power Five Evo offers:

  1. Powerful battery.
  2. A set of standard options.
  3. Affordable price.

The set is standard, but still quite relevant at any time and for many users. Reviews of the Highscreen Power Rage Evo 16 GB suggest that the smartphone is very successful in combining and integrating all these indicators.

If you need a phone mainly for communication, using the Internet, taking notes and more, then the model is perfect for these tasks. The phone is lightweight, it is comfortable to hold it in the hand during a long conversation, the screen gives a good image, a smartphone can fit a lot of applications and files. You don't have to worry about recharging the gadget for up to two days, although private tests sometimes show performance up to a day and a half. But this is also an excellent result for the Highscreen Power Five Evo model. A good option for those who often refuse in a situation where it is not possible to use the charging cable, as well as for people who often travel and business trips.

However, if you are a traveler or active tourist hoping to use the Highscreen Power Five Evo as a portable camera, this may not be a very good decision. Of course, the camera in a smartphone is good, but you should not expect from it high-precision images with excellent color reproduction, which are given by representatives of expensive smartphone brands and photo and video equipment of average quality. about Highscreen Power Five Evo says that the features of the gadget's camera are quite satisfactory for most buyers.

The price of the first sales was set at the level of twelve thousand rubles, but then it began to decline. As a result, the price tag has lost almost one thousand rubles. All in all, the cost is great. Therefore, the reviews of the owners of Highscreen Power Five Evo often speak of this.

Packaging and equipment

The smartphone comes in an ordinary convenient box with the image of the Highscreen Power Five Evo gadget itself. The set includes USB cable, charging, manual and warranty card, and protective glass. Previously, for example, the Highscreen Power Rage Evo smartphone, among other things, came with an OTG cable, a silicone case and a special screen cleaning cloth.

The Highscreen Power Rage Evo has a metal body, while the Evo is made of plastic. The smartphone has become lighter, and its price has also decreased. But buyers who trust metal case The Highscreen Power Five Evo will most likely not be chosen, although the model's characteristics are very valuable. Plastic breaks and scratches easily.

The smartphone is equipped with proximity and light sensors - this, however, is a standard set.

Manufacturers recommend that you abandon attempts to get the non-removable battery. So you can harm your health, and the equipment will fail, and it will be impossible to give the gadget for warranty service. The center's specialists and expertise will confirm that there has been an intervention by the buyer, which automatically removes the smartphone from warranty service.

Ergonomics, screen and other features

As the reviews on the Highscreen Power Five Evo 16 GB confirm, the smartphone is very, very popular among buyers. As they say, all the positive features are on the face.

It has standard definition for budget smartphones... The pixel density is 270-320. Small diagonal. True, many see this as a significant convenience and advantage of the model. The smartphone can be used by holding it in one hand. Reach for corners, type with your thumb, and so on. This opportunity is important for those who solve many work tasks in parallel, including with a smartphone. For such a category of users, not only the characteristics of the functionality of the gadget are important, but also its size and weight, dimensions. And many of the buyers, as a rule, are ready to give up models with big screen to make it easier to use.

The battery consumes a little energy, and this is appreciated by users who like to play demanding modern games on their smartphones, watch videos or talk for a long time. The function is also useful for those who like a screen that does not go out for a long time (does not go into standby mode), and it is the standby mode that consumes the most energy and battery charge. Reviews of the Highscreen Power Five Evo brown smartphone say that this is an ideal option for those who want to save money on a gadget, but squeeze the most out of it. This option will meet the expectations of users.

Despite the fact that the reviews are good about the Highscreen Power Five Evo 5, not everyone likes the eight-core processor, but it works smartly and clearly ("Android 5.1"). Some buyers think it is out of date and should definitely be updated as soon as possible. For example, in the reviews there is an opinion that the labels are beautiful, and when you open them, you find the simplest design of the fourth "Android". All updates are, in other words, superficial. And this is often the case with the reviews of the owners of the Highscreen Power Five Evo smartphone.

Users do not understand how this can be tolerated in a model equipped with a powerful battery and a good camera, and offer to put a minimal shell of a standard design. However, this opinion does not prevent you from using all the capabilities of "Android" in Highscreen Power Five Evo and all the functions of the platform. The appearance of the icons and the slightly outdated interface do not reduce the functions of the device. These characteristics in reviews of the Highscreen Power Five Evo usually do not inspire admiration; users find their set in such a state employee very convenient.

The smartphone is fast, there are two gigabytes of RAM inside.

Case design and battery

Usually, users write that they are pleased with the work and performance of the smartphone. However, the build quality of the gadget is often noted. Highscreen Reviews Power Five Evo is called the most interesting model in the segment of budget, but powerful smartphones, because of its autonomy and functionality.

Anyone familiar with the manufacturer's products can assume that the Highscreen Power Five Evo is a continuation of its predecessor. But this is a completely new device with a good battery and better performance.

The body of the smartphone is made of plastic, including the bezel. However, the material is strong, as you can see if you remove the cover and try to bend it slightly diagonally. The lid is flexible and takes effort to break. However, you should not test the shock-resistant properties of a smartphone in practice, cracks and chips may well appear. After all, the gadget is not positioned as shock-resistant and super-strong. By the way, the buttons are also made of plastic. Reviews of the Highscreen Power Five Evo smartphone do not mark this parameter as a disadvantage. Most of the users who need exactly shockproof smartphones, understand that in this case look at the usual the lineup state employees are not recommended - you will not find anything worthwhile.

In reviews of the Highscreen Power Five Evo brown, they note that its thickness is a little less than ten millimeters, its weight is small - 168 g. The design is pleasant, including due to the rounded panel. Built-in 13-megapixel camera along the edges of the surface and one-color LED flash. In the center of the lid there is a chrome-plated logo of the manufacturing company, which, as noted by reviews of the Highscreen Power Five Evo white, makes the gadget much more interesting.

The battery is not removable, and this stops some from buying. Users choose smartphones with removable batteries so that later, when they become unusable, they can be replaced. Although today's smartphones rarely live up to the moment when the battery becomes unusable. As a rule, by that time, the phone itself had long been sent, if not to the trash, then certainly not used constantly and for its intended purpose. Moreover, even a non-removable battery can be replaced today in a specialized service.

Above the battery are slots for SIM cards (there are two of them) and memory cards. Flash card - a maximum of one hundred twenty eight gigabytes, sixteen gigabytes of memory. The conversational speakers are very good. Although the sound speaker on the cover is of average quality. On the top bezel there is a 3.5 mm headphone jack. Reviews of the Highscreen Power Five Evo gray especially note the presence of a radio.

The lower soft keys are not illuminated separately, but they are quite distinguishable by themselves, even in the dark. A microphone and a charging socket are also located below. On the left - the volume control buttons, on the right - the power button, it is also the lock button. On the front surface there are sensors, automatic brightness control, a notification indicator and an earpiece. The volume is enough, in extreme cases (for music in nature, at a picnic, and so on), you can additionally purchase speakers. The screen is 1 280 x 720, the glare from the sun is almost invisible, it reproduces colors well, but this is the Achilles' heel of the smartphone, according to buyers. Because of this, the Highscreen Power Five Evo model is quite energy-intensive.

Smartphone camera and sound

The reviews of the owners of Highscreen Power Rage Evo about the camera are interesting. Photos are good, focus is fast with the HDR setting, which works well. There is electronic stabilization. There are options for "Voice Recording", "Face Detection", "Smile", "Auto Scene Detection" and other settings. There are various profiles, such as live photos, motion and smile tracking, panorama and multi-angle view. Therefore, the Highscreen Power Five Evo is considered to be perfectly balanced in terms of picture and performance. There are GPS and Glonass systems. Sound profiles have been added to the notification curtain.

The smartphone is available in three body colors: gray, brown and gold. It is made very reliably, nothing creaks and fits well in the hand. The style is strict and beautiful.

The lid has a matte textured finish. This makes it difficult for the gadget to slip out of your hands and creates a comfortable palm feel. Some users consider the design to be unfortunate, unassuming, and trivial. However, others in the model appreciate just that. Indeed, there is no pretentiousness or oversimplification in the smartphone. By outward appearance very similar to early iPhones. Especially the side panels. But this is not a copy in the full sense - the smartphone has its own design, developed specifically for this model.

Some buyers sometimes criticize the sound transmission. Music sounds with some distortion, background bass appears and high purities are smoothed out. The sound is not loud, but for many, this is quite enough.

The phone loads applications quickly. This is also noted by the reviews of buyers and specialists, experts and consultants in hardware stores about the Highscreen Power Five Evo smartphone.

What are the disadvantages

The built-in battery is a feature and disappointment of many modern smartphone models, both budget and premium segment. This is how some users characterize the capabilities of the Highscreen Power Five Evo smartphone "engine". Although it is still unfair to say, given the reviews about the Highscreen Power Five Evo lte, that this is a smartphone of an unsuccessful series.

There is also criticism of the headphones that come with the kit. Indeed, they are inexpensive and of poor quality. These will not last long. And the sound quality is degraded. Some users believe that the manufacturer might not have included a headset at all, which will have to be replaced very soon anyway. And users like the thickness of the cable, although it is also not made of expensive materials.

The manufacturer puts in the packing box on the smartphone. Users consider it good gift... As the reviews of the Highscreen Power Five Evo gold note, this model comes with an adhesive film, but, as buyers assume, the display does not have a coating that repels grease from the touch screen well.

The smartphone is very sensitive, instantly responds to pressing. Speed dial text he can do. The symbols appear immediately in the message field, search string or notes. The Highscreen Power Five Evo does a great job with lots of open bookmarks. This does not load it at all and does not affect the speed of work and functionality... Buyers report high performance in games. Considering a powerful battery, as well as a bright and clear display, it will pull the most popular ones. At the same time, as they say in the reviews of the Highscreen Power Five Evo, the smartphone does not heat up.

Highscreen Power Five Evo announced as a smartphone with powerful battery... Five thousand milliampere-hour battery. Occasionally, customer test results point to reduced battery capacity in the Highscreen Power Five Evo and attribute this to disadvantages.

Who is this model for

Smartphones with a powerful battery are usually looked for by those who are tired of charging the phone several times a day, and those who are used to a gadget that works autonomously for several days. Therefore, it is worth taking a closer look at the described gadget and reviews of the Highscreen Power Five Evo. Its characteristics are as follows:

  • long work battery that does not require frequent recharging;
  • spacious internal memory;
  • 4G communication;
  • good camera for undemanding users;
  • stylish design, etc.

Buyers write that after a month of use, they have an opinion about the Highscreen Power Five Evo as a very high-quality and interesting gadget. For example, work is stable up to one and a half days without additional charge. If the smartphone was connected to Wi-Fi, then the battery lasted for two days. With infrequent access to the Internet and applications, Highscreen Power Five Evo can work for seven days.

The manufacturer gives a one-year warranty for the phone.

It seems that someone on Highscreen was watching an animated series called Generator Rex, which had "super-evolved" characters called EVO. Otherwise, I cannot explain the exact name of the new model.

Those cartoon Evoes were much cooler than their predecessors - ordinary people, and some of them, not all, but some - were superheroes.

Likewise, in some of its parameters Highscreen Power Five EVO looks exactly as evolved from simple Five copy. Or at least a new branch of evolution in the line of these smartphones, which has acquired a couple of advantages over the "venerable ancestor". Purely the son of the previous one Five this model probably cannot be called. There are differences, although will he become a superhero? It's up to you to judge, but the development of my favorite line with new models, I can only welcome - I frankly like it when I can choose a thing for myself to suit any mood and situation. Well, the fact that they may all be of the same brand is, in my opinion, clearly not a problem of the brand itself, but rather a problem of its competitors.

The search criteria for a new smartphone were rather vague, I, as the very King, wanted "either music and flowers, or to kill someone." Autumn, rain, melancholy ... It happens ...

In general, the following parameters were chosen for the selection: the price is in the range of ten to fifteen thousand - what is now over five, it is, of course, cheaper, I love "a canary for a penny, so that I can sing and not eat", but everything is so inexpensive, it was even before the "crisis", in general, outright rubbish, and which hardly got better over time, this is not wine, is it? I also needed capacious battery, which also affects the price. Desirable needed a good appearance, Android on a smartphone, and no Windows. In principle, everything.

Quite a few smartphones fall under such parameters, they all have their advantages and disadvantages compared to EVO- and the deliberate choice threatened to drag on. So, you can say, the appearance of me Power five evo- this is a "spontaneous purchase", and although "voting with your heart" instead of brains is not the most the best choice... But! I did just that. Without much reasoning became the owner Highscreen Power Five EVO... I just loved the color!

Set

The smartphone kit, in principle, turned out to be the most common, because this is not a collector's edition of any video game. But nevertheless one, as you can say, "bun" in it is a protective glass for the screen.

I would have preferred a cover, but, as they say, "dine with what God sent," and God and the developers sent glass.

  • safety glass;
  • Charger;
  • USB cable for synchronization and charging;
  • user guide;
  • box.

All this stuff is packed in a blue-and-white box of the design "minimalism" that has long become a "corporate identity" - on the box there is a schematic image of a smartphone, briefly its characteristics, in fact, everything on the box is exactly the same as in my previous one Power rage... And almost any other smartphone from this company.

So, having quickly admired the box, you can start examining the subject himself. Unlike some gadgets, here the contents of the box are more interesting than its design.

Performance versus Power rage and Power five :

  • screen: 5 ", 1280x720 pixels, IPS instead of AMOLED Power five ;
  • processor: eight-core MediaTek MT6753 1.3 GHz instead of quad-core MT6580 Power rage and MT6735 in Power five ;

  • built-in memory: 16 GB;

  • sensors: proximity sensor, light sensor, accelerometer, microgyroscope;
  • battery: Li-pol 5000 mAh, not removable;
  • dimensions: 142 x 70 x 9.6 mm;
  • weight: only 168 grams, versus 190 for mine Power rage and 176 y Power five.

    Frame

    Compared to my previous smartphones, the body is the first detail that is different from what I have become accustomed to. It's made of plastic. It is difficult to tell right away whether such a replacement went to the benefit of the smartphone. It all depends on your preference. But the body became lighter, not as slippery as metal, and got a very pleasant color. Which ultimately became the defining fact for the purchase.

    Yes, I confess, I got drunk. I'm used to good cases, mostly metal. There is something sacred in it, to feel the heavy coldness of steel in your hand. The glass design of the cases is also not bad, but ... I'm a fan of metal!

    The lid is made of a very lightweight and rather thin plastic. Although in general it appears to be quite solid, it doesn't flex anywhere while sitting on the chassis. But the lid is attached to the body with a bunch of small latches that can be easily broken off if you unsuccessfully try to remove it. And most likely, with careless removal, it itself can also be easily damaged - it bends quite noticeably when removed. I had to use a bank card to open the inside of the smartphone as accurately as possible.

    Although, personally, by and large I liked this change! The plastic cover is an obvious attempt to keep production costs down, but I honestly liked it. I don't know if I would be so pleased if the color of the cover was different. But the stars turned out in such a way that I got exactly the coffee version.

    This coffee color of the lid, evoking such pleasant nostalgic memories of the good old Nokia, which I once used. The marketer who chose this shade was clearly right. And also its light roughness, which does not allow the smartphone to slip out of hands, and does not collect any prints. In general, tactile and color sensations played a role. This difference from the ancestor for me is a clear plus and a sign of the evolution of this smartphone.

    The side frame between the lid and the screen looks like an aluminum one, it does not give the impression of being plastic, plus small dents, usually typical of metal, which have already appeared on the edges, instead of abrasions that are usually typical of plastic. It looks like the sidewall is very soft and not very resistant to damage. The color of this part of the smartphone, in my case, with a coffee-colored lid, is golden. While it looks a lot prettier than the silver-colored aluminum, it doesn't look durable either, so two news.

    The bad news is that you will definitely have to look for a case. Even worse news, our Chinese suppliers are always holding back decent covers for new models. In the case of mine Power rage it took about a year before something more or less decent appeared on Aliexpress.

    How long will it take before our new champion starts wearing off without a cover? Hopefully, the look of the smartphone will be able to stay in order until decent covers appear?

    Otherwise, this smartphone is a standard candy bar, similar to hundreds of other models. Not fat. The arrangement of the elements is, in principle, also standard. Unless, it seems to me that this is exactly the case, it was made under left hand... Volume buttons - separate for "quieter" and for "louder" (which is nice, the monotonous rocker is already fed up) - are located on the left side of the case, and it turned out to be more convenient to use them just when the smartphone was in my left hand. On the right side of the case there is a power button, on the top side there is a headphone jack, on the bottom there is a micro-USB connector.

    On the front panel, you can see touch keys (without backlighting), a telephone speaker, a camera and ... What many users of smartphones of this brand lacked so much - a diode signaling missed calls and SMS! Definitely a plus! ☺

    Probably, for someone, happiness consists of such little things? ☺

    On the back there is a camera, a flash, the manufacturer's logo, and a speaker mesh, along the edges of which there are two small pimples that prevent the smartphone from lying firmly on the surface and muffling the ringing sound. In principle, the entire meeting "by clothes" can be considered complete.

    "User! This is a smartphone ... A smartphone! This is a user ..."

    But if you, like most normal people, are engaged in processing your photos on a desktop, then this will not be a problem for you.

    And if someone tells you that "the screen is dull", just turn off the same automatic brightness control of the display, separate from MiraVision. Violent light will burn out your eyes. And certainly everything will be visible even in bright light. Here the screen is definitely good in brightness!

    Viewing angles will also turn out to be bearable, in fact, at an extreme angle of about 170 degrees to the screen, you will be able to discern information on it. But this will surprise no one. I see a slight tendency towards blue when the screen is tilted, but perhaps this is due to my personal picture settings, because sometimes they complain about yellowness.

    Hardware, not lyrical

    This is the already mentioned MiraVision technology that improves image quality. Or CorePilot technology, which provides a smartphone with a balance between performance, power consumption and heat dissipation. It is thanks to her that the smartphone is cool almost all the time and still uses up battery energy sparingly - despite being more than that of simple Five, the number of cores, and a less economical screen.

    Thanks to all these characteristics, the smartphone is gaining good results in tests, if these numbers are still important for someone?

    In the AnTuTu performance test, I scored 36725 points, versus 27584 for simple Five, this is even a little more than it turned out for Samsung Galaxy S4... In the GeekBench test my EVO got 2848 against 1843 y Five.

    And from the experience of using in real life- I can say that the game Need for Speed started without any problems and calmly allowed to drive through the night streets. And apparently, all the other, not so "active" games, will go well too.

    No, in standby mode it will calmly last a week, one and a half, or maybe two. After turning on the "power saving" mode, the built-in sensor cheerfully reports to us that the operating time is expected to be about 13 days.

    But we need to do more than just wait, do we? Sometimes we also want to work on a smartphone. And here we may be disappointed - we will not find a record duration. According to the results of synthetic tests: a mixed load, according to PCMark, gives us at least 640 minutes of continuous work, versus 820 minutes for regular Five... The consolation is that some of the Boosts with a more capacious 6000 mAh battery gave only 683 minutes.

    That is, the point is not at all about the battery, as some "theorists" claim. The main reason lies in the less expensive display, and more modern processor... So everything is simple: Power five evo- this is a more affordable price and a powerful processor - an alternative to it simple Five- more expensive, less productive, but working a little longer. The choice is yours.

    And in my opinion, the capacity of this battery and the continuous operation of smartphones of this series have increased so much that for me there is no longer much difference between EVO and just Five... If I had a smartphone with a much more capacious battery in my hands - the same smartphone from the Boost series, say 3 SE with its 9600 mAh battery, or the Oukitel with a 10000 mAh battery, I think it would make a difference. Is that so?

    And so I know for sure that in the real world, outside of artificial measurements and tests, using EVO, I will not be left without communication in the middle of the working day, or during the conversation I need. Plus much more productive EVO gives me the opportunity to play games even more comfortably - about 6 hours, watch better films, about ten files. Well, or in a quieter operating mode, endure about 4 days without recharging. That is, one battery charge will be enough for me to get to Moscow or St. Well, or charging on a solar drive. Their price is now a penny.

    The only problem is that the battery, discharged to 20 percent, charged all night.

    Photo, video and other multimedia

    Of all the multimedia capabilities of a smartphone, I usually only use audio listening. Sometimes you need to be able to isolate yourself from the environment and fellow travelers with the sounds of "Russian Field", or Avril Lavigne, or even Midnight Riders, if you find it, although lately I've been listening to self-instruction manuals of a foreign language. Both convenient and practical. Let those with whom the minibus brought you together continue to carry their nonsense, and at this moment, as a normal realist, find out how they differ in Chinese words with the same spelling, but different tonality of pronunciation. In order for the Chinese to understand not only what you speak exactly in Chinese, but also the meaning of what you say.

    I had no complaints about the sound reproduced by the smartphone. Someone complains about the hoarseness that occurs when the speaker plays music, someone that everything sounds too quiet - I did not notice anything like that. But I only use the speaker to play ringtones and speakerphone, and in this case the sound is quite loud and distinct. If it is not enough for someone, you can adjust it again through the engineering menu. But proceed at your own risk.

    And in the headphones, everything is so wonderful in general. Moreover, a few more "proprietary" technologies were found in the smartphone - this time to improve the sound quality.

    The photo functions of the smartphone, in principle, also turned out to be the most standard. Unlike its predecessor, the new Highscreen Power Five EVO has a main camera of 13 megapixels. So far I have not been able to establish the manufacturer, but its parameters: CMOS, aperture f / 2.2, focal length 3.5 mm, maximum image resolution 4160x3120 pixels (instead of 3264x2448 pixels for Five), video 1280x720 pixels and 30 frames per second.

    The camera works under the control of a standard google application, although it has some interesting modes of operation: HDR, panoramic shooting, and that "live snapshot" that was so heavily advertised in iPhones, which in fact turned out to be just a microvideo file in * .mp4 format. This supposedly "novelty", it turns out, turned out to be something like a long-known animated gif "a."

    Much more important is that this camera has a stabilization mode when taking photos. Most likely electronic, but even it already helps to improve the quality of images.

    So, personally, I didn't find any clear complaints about the quality of the photos. Obtained using EVO photos can be posted not only in social networks, but even printed on something. And HDR, unlike many other smartphones, really works here, it really enhances photos.

    I didn't notice much noise in the photo, but, as always, in mid-range smartphones, photos are best taken in good sunlight.

    And here automatic function does not work very well for reducing ripples when shooting computer or TV screens. Ripples are visible on the screen. Sometimes light, sometimes quite strong, but almost always visible. But the text on the photographed screen is read very well.

    Software and everything, everything, everything else

    About software Highscreen Power Five EVO can be said very briefly. Our champion works under Android 5.1 Lollipop. Quite old, there will be no updates, but it is simple, without any additions, improvements and bloatware. This is frankly encouraging. I'm pretty tired of the need to constantly clean up new smartphones from that heap of useless garbage that manufacturers consider it necessary to install, cutting off free space for us and slowing down the smartphone at times very noticeably. I am looking forward with irritation to the moment when Yandex will still break through to my next smartphone, waving a court order requiring manufacturers to install Yandex applications on smartphones instead of Google ones.

    I and Google applications for the most part demolish, each time thinking how to get root-rights this time. Why the hell do I also need Yandex, in which I don't use a single application at all? And knowing the habit of this firm to behave "aggressively" instead of "practical" - I believe that they, like the Chinese, will not only prevent the removal of their garbage, but also make it difficult for the user to install Google applications.

    It was also a pleasant surprise that the manufacturers did not delve into Android itself too noticeably, breaking the usual functions. In my "old" Power rage, for example (which has the same version of Android as EVO), I still have not found a clear way to make "contacts" not display the entire list of recipients associated with my google account, but show only those who have a phone number. Crutch on Rage was the transfer of all phone numbers into the smartphone's memory, and turning on the filter "show only numbers on the smartphone". But on EVO the "Contacts" application worked as required - when you start, you are shown a "start screen" with important numbers attached with an asterisk, and in the phone book a list of only telephone subscribers, which does not include, by default, neither spammers, nor other persons who are just for me when They sent me an email.

    The "dialer", as before, turned out to be not very convenient. Or too simple, choose for yourself. There is a blacklist for annoying people in it, but there is only one call button, although if you turned on the "ask which SIM card to call" option, you will be prompted to choose a SIM card before calling. But for me personally, this was not entirely convenient, so I replaced the dialer - with one that has two buttons at once and allows you to immediately choose which SIM card to make a call from.

    Nothing else, by and large, did not have to "tune". Unnecessary applications from Google - like books, music, games, which social messenger, photos and Google plus - can be easily disabled through the program management. Or, having received root rights, delete them altogether. Fortunately TWRP recоvery for EVO is already available, and it has the ability to install SuperSU.

    True, you will have to use a special program for the firmware, and find out the meaning of the word scatter file, but if you cannot do this, then you hardly need root. I'm serious!

    Immediately after launch, out of the box, music file formats are supported: AAC, AAC +, AMR, AMR-WB, FLAC, MIDI, MP3, OGG, WMA, WAV. Video formats are also supported: 3GPP, AVI, H.263, H.264, MP4, WebM, WMV, Xvid.

    And I can say that a 3.5 GB video file, MKV file format (AVC video, AC-3 audio), with frame sides of 1024x552 pixels and at 60 fps went without the slightest problems and friezes. But the usual MPG file on the simple built-in player did not start, and you will have to install a more advanced one: some VLC with its own set of codecs.

    The only thing that caused constant annoyance when using multimedia functions was problems with Russian-speaking MP3 again. What is the matter is again not clear, but sometimes in one file part of the Russian tags was read without problems, and the other part was displayed in letters of the alphabet, which cannot be immediately identified.

    However, this was a real problem only when using the built-in application and when setting the music to the ringtone. After changing the player to an alternative, everything was in order - tags of any format were displayed as needed.

    It is also strange why the full encryption of the smartphone was "cut out", only the protection of some categories of files remained. In any case, a simple and understandable item "Encrypt all data" in the "Security" menu, as in Rage, I have not found. Only the item "Data protection", where it was proposed to protect pictures, music or videos, but protection of the address book or other equally important functions was not provided. As well as full protection of the phone. Let's hope that this will be fixed in future firmwares, or in mods.

    But it turned out to be provided for unlocking the OS bootloader directly from the menu for developers. If I remember correctly, it is the impossibility of such unlocking that makes it difficult for mods to appear or install another version of Android.

    As a result, about software, we can only say that now there are two firmware versions available in the form of update files - 1.0.5 and 1.0.9 - at first glance, they are almost equal and easy to use. In the first, however, there is no explicit possibility of putting different calls to different SIM cards. In the second - according to reviews, sometimes the mode fails " double tap to unlock ", and the smartphone, brought to your ear, with the screen extinguished by the proximity sensor, will still unlock, and you, touching it with your cheek or ear, start everything.

    What to use is up to you. There are no alternatives yet, however, as there are none on Power rage... Although it is precisely here that it differs for the better Five- my beloved MIUI is not for him, but there is already Cyanogen and Flim. So maybe on EVO something alternative is coming soon. But simple updates to the Android version are unlikely.

    At last I will tell you

    In conclusion, I can say that although a smartphone can really raise some questions, nevertheless, it is quite an interesting thing to buy. It all depends only on your priorities. In my opinion, there were enough pluses in it for me to feel satisfied with the novelty. And I can safely recommend it to others, since not only I am satisfied.

    “Today I have a record, only 3% gobbled up during the night. And in general, the phone is already the second day without charging. With my yuzanye it's just drop dead, tk. Nexus 5 I charged it twice a day. "
