In general, there are many different variations of the Samsung GALAXY S5. We took the G900F model, which is equipped with LTE, a Qualcomm processor and 16 GB of memory - this is exactly what we had on the test and it will most likely become the most popular in Russia.

By the way, about LTE. We had an idea to compare the average data transfer rate by cellular network under the same conditions, but no matter how many tests we ran, in general, the iPhone 5s and GALAXY S5 showed similar results. Unless, according to the indication of the smartphones themselves, the GALAXY S5 had worse reception quality.

Appearance, design

Samsung implements many "chips" only because Apple has it. For example, a fingerprint scanner, which we will talk about below. But sometimes one gets the feeling that they put a high price on their products because Apple does it.

But Apple has high-quality materials (metal, tempered glass), and replacing the smartphone with a new one under warranty, while Samsung has plastic, which they disguise as metal or leather. The question is - why new GALAXY S5 should cost like an iPhone? However, only the most impatient give 30 thousand for a new product from Samsung. It is worth waiting a couple of months, or even a couple of weeks, and the price for it will traditionally fall by 30%.

But the imitation of materials is, in our opinion, somehow not serious. A low-slung, tinted nine with a spoiler and vinyl decals is what Samsung's design is all about. Note that this is generally a problem of Korean design - to fake materials and finishing elements. For example, Korean guitar manufacturers like to “draw” fake screws on the body of the instrument (the author judges by personal experience, because related to music). Imagine: a volumetric bulge that repeats the shape of the screw head, even the correct slot is available, but in fact it is part of the body and it is impossible to unscrew such a “screw”.

In general, the iPhone looks not only better (although this is more of a subjective parameter), but also “more honest”. Its body is made of better and more expensive materials, which is already quite an objective fact.

On the other hand, the GALAXY S5 has IP67 dust and moisture protection. What does this mean? In theory - full protection against dust penetration and protection against short-term immersion in water to a depth of not more than 1 m (at the same time, continuous operation under water, as in Sony flagships, not guaranteed). However, the design of the smartphone case does not look very secure. Two things are confusing: an easy-to-open micro-USB 3.0 slot cover and a “removable” cover.

Even with the brand new GALAXY S5, the cover is easy to open. Too easy.

Do not close the lid tightly - the phone will sink. Each time you change the SIM card or SD card, you will have to carefully check several times whether all the latches are fixed. In practice, users often do not notice that one of the latches is not fixed (not specifically for this smartphone, but in general for all smartphones with a similar fastening of the cover). Well, there is a possibility that sooner or later the latches will no longer securely hold the lid.

The lid is rubberized, but the “reciprocal” part on the body is somehow not worked out.

In general, washing a smartphone under running water is still not recommended, swimming with it (even in fresh water) is even more so. As for using the smartphone in the rain, the author of this text fell into the rain several times with the iPhone 5s, and even talked on it, and the smartphone is alive and well.

So, given the higher quality of the materials, the iPhone 5s wins in design.

Ergonomics

Ergonomics, in this case, - this is how comfortable it is in the hand when using (the last clarification is important - we need to not only hold the smartphone, but also press buttons, swipe the screen, etc.). In principle, here both the iPhone and Samsung GALAXY S5 are almost the same, except that, due to the large screen, it is problematic for a Korean to reach the opposite corner of the screen with his thumb.

Yes, we know that some people love it, but the fact is that using the iPhone with one hand is more convenient.

True, it's already easier to press the lock / power button on the GALAXY S5 - it's on the side.

But speaking of buttons, the iPhone has a mute switch. It is strange that manufacturers did not make it a rule to copy this detail either: it is really convenient.

Outcome? Draw - both smartphones have ergonomic advantages and disadvantages in about equal amounts.

Screen

It is difficult to objectively compare the screens of different devices. In fact, the only objective parameter for evaluating the screen is the margin of brightness in the sun. Or, more precisely, the readability of the screen in direct sunlight. Everything else: size, resolution, sub-pixel grid, and even color reproduction - are perceived subjectively. For example, the author of this text immediately noticed PenTile on the screen of the Samsung GALAXY S5, but there is a Full-HD resolution and a very high pixel density. But there are people who are not bothered by PenTile even on low-resolution screens (and someone even now thought: “What is PenTile?”).

Or take the screen size: for those who have a tablet, it is not so important to have big screen. Everything depends on the scenario of using the phone: if you read a lot on it, watch movies and play games, then yes, you need a big screen. If you communicate in social networks, listen to music, wear your phone in jeans (of course, "shovels" like GALAXY Note also fit in a jeans pocket, but this pocket is quickly wiped, unless it’s some kind of “levis”), you shoot on the camera - then the screen size does not matter, and sometimes even on the contrary, you want a more compact device. That is, with regards to screen size, we cannot objectively conclude - more means better or worse.

Resolution: Than larger size screen, the higher the resolution should be. Ultimately, the determining factor is not the resolution itself, but the pixel density. While most manufacturers are competing in the megapixel race (screens with 2K resolution have already been announced), Apple continues to use a resolution of 1136x640, which is even lower than HD (1280x720) and, moreover, Full-HD (1920x1080). However, what will the user get from a larger screen? In theory - a clearer picture, but in practice - the iPhone 5s screen is already quite clear, at a distance of 20 cm from the eyes it is almost impossible to see individual pixels. If you look closely, then here the GALAXY S5 screen will not seem sharp enough due to PenTile (TFT screens with RGB subpixel placement are sharper at the same pixel density). Can we say that the GALAXY S5 screen is better because it has a higher resolution? It is unlikely - we are not worried about the bare numbers, but the result. Of course, if Apple decides to increase the diagonal of the iPhone, it will have to take care of a higher resolution. But for now, 1136x640 pixels is enough.

Color reproduction is an objective parameter in itself, but practice shows that ordinary people prefer bright, acid colors rather than natural shades. This applies not only to smartphones, but also to TVs, photos, videos. Notice how much brighter and more contrast modern films have become compared to the hits of the 80s and 90s.

However, neither the iPhone 5s nor the GALAXY S5 can boast of perfect color reproduction. The iPhone is slightly “red”, and the Samsung GALAXY S5 is noticeably “blue”. Due to the temporary absence of spectrophotometer data, this parameter will also have to be rejected as decisive - someone will probably like the color reproduction of the GALAXY S5 more, someone - the iPhone 5s.

In general, instead of “acidic” colors in the GALAXY S5 (as in many other GALAXY smartphones), you can choose more natural colors in the screen profile settings, but few people bother with this. "Blue" screen, however, this will not stop.

The most natural color reproduction - in the "Standard" mode

As for the readability of the screen in the sun, here Samsung is perhaps a little brighter than the iPhone. Not that it was impossible to read or watch pictures on an iPhone in direct sunlight, there is enough brightness there, but the Samsung is still brighter. Conditionally, you can give victory in terms of screen quality to the GALAXY S5.

Functionality

There are no questions here - the smartphone on Android wins in absentia. If we compare the set of functions in isolation from the implementation of these functions, the smartphone from Samsung wins. Of course, the iPhone has a few features in store that the competitor does not have (as one example, using third party applications it can be used as a guitar processor, there are no such applications on Android, and it is far from the fact that they can be made), but in any case, the victory in functionality is for Android. There is nothing even to discuss. Swype, NFC, free file transfer via Bluetooth, the ability to send any files, both by mail and in messengers, and not just photos, support for SD cards, connecting external storage devices via USB, and so on - all this is an iPhone and never dreamed of and is unlikely to even be dreamed of in the near future.

One of the software guitar processors on the iPhone. Guitarists will appreciate it, the rest will not care.

The convenience of use

It can be said that "usability" (usability, tracing paper with usability) is the reverse side of functionality. Do you know the difference between a geek and a simple user? The geek is interested in the set of functions and equipment into “good” and “bad” (or into “buy!” And “for nothing in life”), he divides exclusively by the set of functions.

For a simple user, how the functions are implemented is more important. And since the market is focused on users, not on geeks (there are more users and their solvency, oddly enough, is higher), it was the insufficiently convenient implementation that actually “killed” some functions, and even entire groups of devices.

For example, tablets on “desktop” operating systems existed before, but ceased to be produced and sold a dozen years ago due to the fact that they were too inconvenient: with a very inaccurate stylus (it was impossible to work with the screen with fingers), a weak battery (3 -5 hours of work maximum), heavy, bulky. When the iPad appeared, it was (and remains) much less functional, but thanks to its high usability, it not only became very popular, but also gave rise to a whole class of devices - tablets on mobile OS.

Another less obvious example: helmets virtual reality. They were invented back in the 90s and they had similar problems - large weight and dimensions, low resolution, high price. Today, helmets are slowly resurfacing, but only because they have become lighter, cheaper and have received the resolution of modern TVs (well, almost). And even then, mass demand has not yet been observed, although the geeks are delighted. But in any case, the implementation of functionality has improved significantly.

In short, the average user doesn't need a poorly implemented feature. He needs a ready-made device that “out of the box” does well and without much persuasion what it can do. In this sense, Apple's devices win - with enough functionality, they can be quickly learned and easy to use. Perhaps, if we compared the iPhone 5s with some top-end Windows Phone smartphones, there would be either equality or even victory for Windows Phone (smartphones on this OS are even less functional, but, at the same time, more simple).

However, on the Android OS, they could well have made a convenient and simple smartphone. There are even some, although they are very few. Manufacturers themselves overload the interface in pursuit of large quantity functions that are then used by a negligible percentage of users. GALAXY S5 is a great example of this: overloaded menus that make it difficult to find what you need, a bunch of incomprehensible settings, sometimes exotic, which are mixed with really useful ones on an equal footing.

After spending an hour or two on the phone, you can select the ones you need from these shortcuts.

A simple example - we needed to find the LTE switch setting. Which of the group's labels do you think " Network connections» contains this setting?

Some menu items are present in several groups at once, which greatly increases their already rather large list.

The correct answer is "Other networks".

Or take applications. When the GALAXY S5 is launched for the first time, the user finds 47 application shortcuts of various applications in the menu. At the same time, among them there is no office suite, clients of social networks and games. What are the 47 labels for? Obviously, this number is excessive. See for yourself: two browsers (standard and Chrome), two applications for Email(Gmail and universal), two Music apps and another Play Music, Books and Play Books, two Play Movies apps (one of them has a colon between the words) and one more " Video”, two photo galleries: “Gallery” and “Photo”, shortcuts “Settings” and “ Google Settings"(and also separately - just Google). Why is this for the user? And most importantly - why do we need two or three applications that perform the same function?

This is all installed in the Samsung GALAXY S5 by default. What for?

If you are an Android expert and do not understand the essence of the problem, put yourself in the place of a person who does not know how the standard android browser from Google Chrome(given that the former can sync with Chrome data) - how should he feel when he sees all this on his smartphone?

Of course, Android fans will say that everything can be customized. But think about how logical it sounds: a person who prefers brevity and simplicity will sit and set up a smartphone for himself for several hours? Is it conciseness and simplicity? Of course no. This person will simply buy another smartphone. For example, iPhone 5s.

Performance

We added the "performance" paragraph only because many readers would probably look for it with their eyes, and if they did not find it, they would write us an angry comment. But, in fact, comparing the performance of the iPhone 5s and GALAXY S5 is pointless. Or, more accurately, aimlessly. Both smartphones do an excellent job with all the most sophisticated games, play Full-HD videos (including from YouTube) and smoothly render interface animations.

In general, even if we found some adequate benchmark (except for the Futuremark graphics test for mobile devices), which allows us to objectively compare different hardware on different operating systems and bring the results to a common denominator, there would be no sense from this study. . This is not a PC for you, where you can read a review of a new video card (or gaming laptop) and conclude whether this piece of hardware is enough for you to run the next Crysis or not.

As for the difference in the "digit capacity" of the processors (64-bit for the iPhone 5s and 32-bit for the GALAXY S5), here the comparison is meaningless. For iOS there is a music GALAXY app Band, which allows you to create 32 music tracks on smartphones / tablets with a 64-bit processor, while on devices with a 32-bit one - only 16 more expensive. But there is no such application for Android, and therefore the GALAXY S5 does not lose anything by the fact that it has “only” a 32-bit processor.

Fingerprint sensor

The fingerprint scanner was installed in smartphones even before the iPhone - a well-known fact. For example, in Toshiba Portege G900. However, the idea did not take root - it was inconvenient to use it (remember the discussion above about usability?). Apple decided to rework the idea and came up with an optical sensor that works quickly and to which it is enough to put a finger on it, and not drive along the sensor in a certain direction and at a certain speed.

As a rule, what appears in the iPhone, then, soon, appears in other manufacturers. True, HTC was ahead of Samsung by embedding a fingerprint sensor in HTC One Max. The sensor, however, was of an old type, not at all like that of Apple, and was located on the back of the smartphone.

Setting up fingerprints on iPhone 5s

In the GALAXY S5, Samsung placed the sensor in the home button - like the iPhone 5s. True, here the sensor is not optical, and therefore loses to the sensor in the iPhone 5s in all respects:

- in GALAXY S5, you need to swipe your finger along the sensor (and not very quickly, otherwise it won’t work), but in iPhone 5s it’s enough to attach it;

- if in the iPhone 5s the finger can be applied in any position, then on the Galaxy S5 - only strictly perpendicular to the bottom edge of the phone;

- in the GALAXY S5, you must definitely run the entire fingertip over the sensor, if you don’t get it a little, it won’t work;

When you need to quickly unlock your smartphone, it rarely works the first time

- in iPhone 5s, you can remember up to five fingers, and in GALAXY S5 - only three (4 fingers would be enough for the author of this article: two thumbs and two index fingers).

Setting up fingerprints in GALAXY S5

In general, Samsung could, for example, add the ability to set the launch of certain applications on fingerprints, as HTC did, but, alas, Koreans only spy on Americans. But in vain. It turns out that the fingerprint sensor in the GALAXY S5 loses even to that in the HTC One Max, not to mention the iPhone 5s.

Camera

We have already written (and clearly demonstrated) more than once that the quality of a camera is not measured by megapixels. Actually, Apple does not increase the number of megapixels in iPhones right from the iPhone 4S, and the quality of shooting, at the same time, is growing. For example, iPhone 5s shots are sharper than iPhone 5 shots with greater dynamic range.

As for the comparison with the Samsung GALAXY S5, the situation is similar - the pictures from the iPhone 5s are sharper, you can see this below (left - iPhone 5s, right - Samsung). We reduced the size of the 16-megapixel image from the Samsung GALAXY S5 (which should have sharpened the image compared to the 100% crop) so that the sizes of objects from the cameras of both smartphones were approximately the same. It is worth noting here that the viewing angle of the Samsung GALAXY S5 camera is narrower (again, this should in theory lead to higher sharpness of distant objects) than that of the iPhone 5s. We have highlighted in red those areas that are worth paying attention to.

Left - iPhone 5s, right - GALAXY S5.

As you can see, even with the lower resolution and wider field of view, the 100% crop from the iPhone 5s boasts better sharpness. In the pictures from the iPhone, you can see the branches of trees even where the Samsung has solid soap.

However, the GALAXY S5 has a wider dynamic range. This can be clearly seen in the following photos taken in HDR mode (the first photo is from the iPhone, the second is from the Samsung GALAXY S5).

Clicking on a thumbnail will open the full size image

However, the bad thing is that the HDR mode of the GALAXY S5 must be turned on forcibly, while on the iPhone 5s it works automatically.

The wide dynamic range of the Korean is clearly visible when shooting in the dark:

Clicking on a thumbnail will open the full size image

On the other hand, the iPhone 5s showed exactly the picture that the user is likely to want to see. It is unlikely that anyone will be interested in color noise in the dark.

A few more pictures:

Clicking on a thumbnail will open the full size image

Clicking on a thumbnail will open the full size image

Clicking on a thumbnail will open the full size image

The color rendition of both cameras is a moot point. On the one hand, the GALAXY S5 shows a picture closer to reality (although I want to remove the green tint from the sky blue, there is too much of it), on the other hand, have you seen realistic photos in photo albums for a long time? Colors are now "twisting" everything, even professional photographers. Some of them prefer bright saturated colors, others are muted, like in old films on tapes. But this and that - does not correspond to what the eye sees.

In general, there are a lot of settings in the GALAXY S5 camera. And this is rather bad (see the section on "usability"). The phone is not a professional camera, here it is necessary like this: point the lens, press the button, get an excellent (at the maximum capabilities of the smartphone camera) picture.

In our opinion, even the interface iPhone cameras slightly overloaded, could have been made simpler.

But the GALAXY S5 is much more complicated. Try to guess from the first time where to switch the video recording speed, for example?

Well, below you can see the result of that very slow motion video. Top video is from iPhone, bottom video is from Samsung GALAXY S5.

Video from iPhone 5s

Video from GALAXY S5

Here you can see a few more interesting points. First, both smartphones downgraded the video resolution from Full-HD to HD without warning. At the same time, the video from the Galaxy S5 shows that in reality the resolution is even lower (most likely it is 720i instead of 720p).

Secondly, the GALAXY S5 recorded a video without sound, while the iPhone sound in place.

At the same time, in normal mode The GALAXY S5 can record video in Ultra HD quality, which is not yet available on the iPhone.

Verdict? The iPhone is sharper, the GALAXY S5 has more features, and overall the quality is comparable. But since we're talking about the phone's camera, where a large number of functions only gets in the way, victory for the iPhone 5s.

autonomy

There is no direct relationship between the frequency of the processor and the performance of the device built on it (once again we will give an example about the PlayStation 4 with a 1.6 GHz processor and the PlayStation 3 with a 3.2 GHz processor). That is, if you take a specific processor and overclock it to specific device, then yes, performance will certainly increase, although not linearly. But if we are talking about different processors and different devices operating on different operating systems - then you can forget about the clock frequency altogether.

Why are we talking about processors in the “autonomy” paragraph? But because, unlike performance, there is a direct relationship between the processor frequency and power consumption. Of course, technology, instruction set, number of cores - all this also affects, but, as a rule, the higher the processor clock speed, the more electricity it "eats". We specifically emphasize this point to explain why an iPhone with a 1560 mAh battery lasts as long as a Galaxy with 2800 mAh. Of course, under a similar use case.

In terms of autonomy - a draw.

Comparison results

When it comes to buying a new smartphone, many people have a completely logical question: what to choose - a stylish iPhone 5 or innovative samsung galaxy SIII? To answer it, frankly, is not easy.

Indeed, it is difficult to make a choice between the leading models of communicators, especially since you will have to use the selected smartphone for a couple more years until something truly new appears.

It is worth noting that both the iPhone 5 and the Samsung Galaxy S III are great mobile gadgets market leaders the latest technologies. Today we will try to find out which of the two smartphones is right for you.

Appearance

What size are your pockets? What size palm? Which phone design do you like best? Here are just some of the questions you should ask yourself before buying a communicator.

Forget for a moment about the operating system, the capabilities of the gadget, and even about what applications can be installed on it. Think about the appearance of your future phone. Imagine how you would like to see it. Your phone is always with you. Most likely, he is the last thing you see before going to bed, and the first thing you look at in the morning after waking up.

The most obvious difference between the iPhone 5 and the Samsung Galaxy S III is the significant size difference. The dimensions of the Galaxy S III phone are 136.6 x 70.6 x 8.6 mm, the weight of the device is 131 g, the screen size is 4.8 inches. The iPhone 5 is lighter, thinner and smaller at 123.8 x 58.6 x 7.6mm, weighs 112g, and has a 4-inch screen. If you have small hands, you might want to consider about purchasing an Apple phone.

The design of Apple products is based on the clarity of lines. The sixth generation iPhone is made of glass and metal, but the black model quickly shows noticeable annoying scratches. Perfectionists who constantly polish the screen will be very disappointed to see what the phone looks like after a couple of months of carrying it in your pocket.

The Samsung Galaxy S III smartphone is also not perfect, although the developers have tried to make it different from other Samsung phones. It doesn't show a lot of scuffs and scratches. In addition, this phone has a removable rear panel: if desired, it can be changed to some other, more interesting one.

If you are used to carrying your communicator in your pants pocket, then iPhone smartphone 5, which is smaller, will interfere with walking less than the Samsung Galaxy S III. However, the iPhone 5 slips out of a trouser pocket much more easily. So be prepared for possible losses.

None of the smartphones has as many color variations as the device Nokia Lumia. And yet, in terms of color solutions, Samsung Galaxy S III communicators are more diverse than monochrome iPhone 5.

Display Quality

HD Super AMOLED Plus Screen Galaxy smartphone S III with a diagonal of 4.8 inches and a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels is able to convey all the richness and saturation of color. The device from Apple, which has a display with a diagonal of 4 inches, does not differ in such magnificence and riot of colors, but it has a higher pixel density due to the placement of a smaller image with a resolution of 1139x640 pixels on the screen. The bottom line is: density iPhone screen 5 - 326 ppi (pixels per inch), Galaxy S III display density - 305 ppi.

Perhaps at first, the screen of the Galaxy S III smartphone will literally blind you - it is so bright and saturated. Problems start when watching videos or photos - any images containing red. The screen does not accurately convey colors, and all the pictures have a bluish tint characteristic of Samsung gadgets. You just need to transfer the photos to regular computer and they will look completely different. With the iPhone 5 smartphone, this problem will not arise.

The obvious and undeniable advantage of the Galaxy S III is the use of additional screen space. Although the screen of the iPhone 5 is larger than that of previous generations of iPhones, it is not used very “productively”. For example, appearing notifications still block the top of the smartphone screen. In turn, the Galaxy S III smartphone has an improved Android platform notification system: when you receive any software notification, a black bar appears at the top of the screen, where icons (for example, email or text message icons) are displayed.

The large screen of a Samsung phone is great for browsing the web, but it can be difficult to operate your smartphone with one hand. You are unlikely to reach the opposite corner of the screen with your thumb, and in certain situations this can become a real problem.

lovers computer games likely to prefer a "deeper" screen Samsung smartphone Galaxy S III, and not the rich colors of the iPhone 5 display. However, even in this case it is difficult to give an unambiguous answer: for example, in the game Angry Birds on Galaxy screen S III you can see more birds, but they look better on iPhone display. However, everything will change if you take the phones outside. On the Samsung Galaxy S III, almost nothing will be visible. Even at maximum screen brightness, AMOLED technology is not enough to display a bright picture in the sun, while the LCD screen in the iPhone 5 does a much better job. So if you spend a lot of time on the street, then this factor can be a good reason to give your preference to a smartphone from Apple.

Making calls

As for calls, in terms of quality, the iPhone 5 smartphone wins: when talking, the interlocutor is heard much better. The secret lies in the large number of microphones that transmit the voice, which helps to increase the clarity of the sound. On the other hand, the speakers in the Samsung Galaxy S III smartphone are much louder than those of the Apple device - which is very convenient, especially if you prefer to use speakerphone or a headset. Both devices support the extended audio transmission profile.

The iPhone boasts a decent resolution of per-contact images taken from sites like Facebook or Twitter. In the Galaxy S III, the images are very low resolution, which makes them look grainy. As for the contact information pages, here samsung phone gives much more information (including from social networks and the Google page).

From your Samsung Galaxy SIII smartphone, you can call someone in your phone book by simply holding the phone to your ear. At first, this innovation seems very convenient. But chances are you'll disable this feature right away as it drains your battery insanely fast. Also in Galaxy SIII it is possible to set a name for quick search contact. The iPhone does not have this convenient feature, so to make a call you need to open notebook contacts and find the name of the person you need in it.

The verdict is that the sound quality is better on the iPhone, but on the Galaxy S III, you'll find the right contact to call faster.

Sending email and keyboard

We can safely say that both the iPhone 5 smartphone and the Galaxy S III communicator do a good job of receiving and sending e-mail.

The installation of the mail application in the Galaxy S III smartphone occurs when the device is first booted and data is entered into personal account Google account. Everything is simple and clear. On the iPhone, mail is installed from the mail application and works fine, unless of course you are trying to use mail not from the offered services. In this case, you will have to search mail settings himself.

At first glance, you can see that the Galaxy S III's cluttered email app is a disaster. Truth, Gmail helps make things a little easier with a great search feature and a clean user interface. With this mail, you can, for example, send images and attached files, and it is easier to do this than sending a picture or music track from an iPhone smartphone. Embedded mail iPhone app 5 is better than the Galaxy S III smartphone, but it lacks an equally good search engine. But the "apple" application automatically formats the text for the iPhone screen, making it easier to read messages. The lack of a dedicated feature to resize messages to fit the screen is a major drawback of Gmail.

Email typing on smartphones is also handled differently. The iPhone has only one keyboard option. The touch keys respond quickly and clearly to touch, however, people with large fingers may find it difficult to use such a keyboard on a small screen. Android OS allows you to install other keyboards like SwiftKey or Swype if you don't like it standard program for Galaxy S III phone. According to most users of the Android system, changing the type of keyboard is useful feature, because in this way you can significantly increase the speed of typing.

Those with movable fingers or those who demand little from a mail app will be pleased with the iPhone. But if e-mail is an important part of your smartphone for you, then the Galaxy S III model will suit you better.

Usage office applications and work with documents

The Galaxy SIII smartphone uses a ready-made office suite based on Google infrastructure. If necessary, you can download free app Google Drive and get the opportunity to work with documents of any kind: from spreadsheets to simple text files. All of them are synchronized with Google storage. Documents can also be edited using various devices, including desktop computers and even iPhones with installed google app drive.

If you want to download Apple's document-management apps or use iCloud storage, you'll have to shell out a tidy sum. To perform each of the functions similar to those found in the Google Drive package, the "apple" programs Pages, Numbers and Keynote are required. They cost 329 rubles each. Once you install the apps, you will definitely appreciate their benefits: they have better integration with iCloud storage (in particular, between a Mac laptop and a smartphone, or an iPad tablet and a smartphone). All your notes from text editor Notes you can transfer to your desktop computer by synchronizing the PC and the communicator.

Both phones support Copy and Paste, but the iPhone system is more reliable than Android. For example, the Android OS program does not allow you to copy text directly from a Twitter message. The landscape orientation in the iPhone 5 also has its drawback: unlike the Galaxy S III, it is almost impossible to see what you are typing on the iPhone screen.

So, the iPhone 5 smartphone is suitable for those who use other programs for Mac systems and doesn't mind paying for top-notch Apple products.

Photo quality

The resolution of the cameras of both smartphones - Galaxy S III and iPhone 5 - is 8 megapixels, but this does not mean that the shooting process and the quality of photos will be the same.

As usual, Apple specialists have simplified everything to the limit. Apart from the panorama mode and the ability to use the AE/AF lock focus hold function, the iPhone camera does not have anything remarkable. Additional features appear through the use of various third-party applications.

In the Galaxy S III smartphone, the camera application is much more flexible and feature rich. You can change the resolution, ISO sensitivity, white balance, and select the appropriate shooting mode. In addition, the Korean communicator has such a function as “photo with a smile”: from a number of photos, exactly the photo in which the person is smiling will be selected.

In turn, the iPhone smartphone has a face recognition option, and after installing, for example, the Snapseed program, the iPhone camera will have no less opportunities than the Samsung Galaxy S III camera.

If you do not take into account additional applications, then the iPhone 5 allows you to take pictures best quality than the Samsung Galaxy S III camera. The only thing really missing is the variety of settings.

Video viewing

Which of the gadgets is more suitable for watching video files? It is very difficult to give a definite answer. By the phone samsung screen more, but the iPhone has better image quality. Given this, the experience of watching the video is about the same.

Both iTunes and Google Play offer users to download popular blockbusters to their communicator, but Apple is certainly the leader in terms of the number of rare films. In addition, the iTunes system provides much easier and simpler synchronization than samsung app Kies.

As for custom recordings, the Galaxy S III supports more formats, and if you already have a large digital library, then this unit will suit you better.

As for video sharing, again, Apple's infrastructure has its advantages and disadvantages: in particular, the Apple TV system can be synchronized with any TV, and transferring videos or photos from a smartphone to your TV screen using the AirPlay program will not amount to any labor.

In turn, the Samsung Galaxy S III smartphone has DLNA technology. However, for this technology to work correctly, you will need a TV that has the same function, and user interface The program is not as simple as that of the Apple system. Galaxy S III also allows you to watch/download movies already in your local network. Another bonus: the smartphone has a handy “pop-up” player, thanks to which you can watch videos while using another full-screen application, such as Twitter.

Internet browsing

Smartphones iPhone 5 and Galaxy S3 LTE have the ability to work in 4G networks. However, apparently, in the near future in Russia you will still have to use the Internet via 3G channels.

The choice of browsers is wide and varied. By default, iPhone comes with Safari browser, and the Galaxy S III with the Samsung browser, although most users prefer Chrome program. In both devices, you can scale the Internet pages by pinching and spreading your fingers and double-tapping the screen. In addition, web browsers Chrome and Safari can sync your browsing history with other devices (or stationary computers) on which you use the same program.

Safari has a built-in browsing feature in offline offline reading. Reader Mode allows you to remove everything superfluous from the page, and leave only the text. At Chrome browser there is no such useful option, although the Samsung browser has it.

The Samsung browser somehow supports Flash player, but the developers of the Android system plan to phase out this plug-in. The iPhone does not support Flash Player at all, but many sites use tricks to get around this problem.

But there is practically nothing to say about the speed of the browsers - it is the same. So which of the devices is better suited for browsing the Internet? There's a draw here.

Undoubtedly, the Android system is designed for those users who love to share the information they have. With most apps, you can send anything from a picture to a text note to any of the social networks or third-party apps installed on your Galaxy S III with a single click of a button.

Both phones have great apps for posting images to in social networks, including Instagram and Facebook. It is enough just to take a picture, and in a second the photo will be on your page on the network. If you are a heavy user of Google+, then working with your Galaxy S III smartphone will be more convenient.

Battery

Probably everyone knows how annoying it is to get a phone out of your pocket and see the result of a low battery - a black screen. The good news is that both the iPhone 5 smartphone and the Galaxy S III communicator are equipped with good, powerful batteries. On average, the battery lasts for a day.

It is worth clarifying: the period for which the battery lasts depends on how actively you use your phone. Even the battery of the Galaxy S III smartphone, which has a capacity of 2100 mAh, will sit down very quickly if, for example, all notifications are turned on. The large screen size and quad-core processor can also eat up a lot of power, but if you use your phone wisely, the charge will last all day.

The same goes for the iPhone, although its main consumer of energy is the email application, if it is running in the background Push. Disable it - and the phone will work for a day without recharging.

Applications

To date Google services Play and iTunes are on the same level in terms of applications for a variety of purposes, so both devices are good from this point of view.

If you like the simple interface of the programs and their compatibility with other devices, then the iPhone smartphone is for you, because all the applications available in the Online Store (except those intended for iPad tablet), are great for this gadget. The problem with the Galaxy S III smartphone is that not every application for the Android system is supported by absolutely all phones based on this OS. For example, the Nike+ program is only available to customers mobile operator O2 in the UK. But even if the application can be downloaded, it is not a fact that it will work correctly on a specific smartphone model. In addition, application developers tend to release new products for operating system iOS. Many companies prefer iOS over Android.

But in terms of application management, the Android system is confidently in the lead. Switching between simultaneously running applications is done through a simple menu, and not through double tap on the back button, as it happens in iOS. Also in the Korean communicator it is much easier to sort applications: they can be arranged in the form of signs or a list. Many programs have widgets, which enhance the screen functionality of the Samsung Galaxy S III smartphone.

The most important thing is to decide which applications you need and which operating system (Android or iOS) supports them. It's also worth making sure that the cross-platform capabilities of these programs meet your needs, as the functions of the applications can vary markedly.

Results:

It's safe to say that none of the phones in question will let you down. If you evaluate them impartially, it becomes clear: both devices are very good. The only question is which of the gadgets is right for you? Which smartphone - iPhone 5 or Samsung Galaxy S III - 100% meets all your needs and requirements?

Which material do you prefer, metal or plastic? Indeed, the question is complex. If you prefer sleek lines, sleek design, and an elegant look, then the iPhone 5 is the phone for you.

The iOS 6 operating system is simple, fast, easy to use, but it lacks flexibility. In turn, the Android platform can be customized "for yourself", give it individuality.

The determining factor is also the cost of gadgets. The iPhone uses first-class, high-quality materials and parts - this is how the developers justify such a high price for the communicator. For example, a "gray" iPhone 5 with 64 GB of memory will currently cost you an average of 38,000 rubles, while Galaxy phone S III with 16 GB of built-in memory costs about 22,000 rubles. Agree, good savings.

Summing up, it is worth noting the following: the iPhone 5 smartphone has a great design, a rather high price and a non-standard approach to solving problems. You can talk about all the advantages of the "apple" communicator for a long time and colorfully. But the Samsung Galaxy S III phone can be made truly “your own”, individual. No wonder this model is considered the leading device running on the Android platform. In any case, the choice is yours!

This spring, the release of the Samsung Galaxy S4 took place, which was tacitly called the “iPhone killer” by fans of the Korean brand. Just a month ago, the iPhone 5S saw the light, which became even more powerful and better than its previous version. Which of these phones is better? It's really hard to make a choice. Even fans of the apple company are aware of the fact that in some respects the “five” is worse than its sworn competitor. Therefore, today we will consider the most striking differences, which, I want to believe, will help you make the right choice.

Appearance

Arguing about design is pointless - each person has his own opinion on the appearance of smartphones. However, the author of this article gives the palm to the iPhone 5(S). Why? Yes, if only because the design of the phone from Cupertino looks at least more interesting: strict lines, nice cool metal, small size (I will talk about the size in more detail below). And now we pick up the flagship from Samsung and ... Again, plastic. Well, how much can you? No, I understand that plastic is cheap, but the Galaxy S4 is the flagship of the company and is not much cheaper than the "five".

However, plastic has a plus. I won't say anything about the S4, but the S3 resists scratches quite well. If something happens to the case cover, it can be replaced at any time with a similar one, both “native” and made by Chinese craftsmen, the quality of which is at a quite acceptable level. Alas, it is not protected from falls at all - just a dent, or at least a scratch, immediately remains. Therefore, if the S4 can be worn without a case, then without it with the fifth “iPhone” I don’t leave the house at all. However, you may have a different opinion on this matter, and I share it in advance.

By the way, under the filming back cover The S4 has not only a SIM card slot, but also a memory card slot, as well as a battery that can be replaced. This is really convenient, although in modern realities, when a smartphone “lives” for a year and a half at best and then needs to be replaced, this condition is optional.

P.S. But the new golden color of the iPhone 5S only makes me smile.

Display Comparison

S4 is the leader here, you say. Let me disagree. Samsung has a 5-inch display and this one is really a plus to some extent. For example, it is convenient to watch videos, use maps, write SMS messages. However, this is also a minus. For example, I use the iPhone for the most part as a phone and don’t spend much time on applications, so the 4-inch screen of the five is enough for me. But this is an individual matter.

As for the image quality itself, here our competitors have parity. In this model, Samsung has applied an AMOLED panel, resulting in bright and saturated colors (in S3 they are dull even compared to the iPhone 4S).

Specifications

It would not be regrettable to talk about it, but here the iPhone is clearly behind. For example, the 5S has only a dual-core processor, while the S4 has as many as eight cores and this is almost a world record. But at 5S, the latest A7 processor based on the ARMv8 architecture was introduced, which has a lot of advantages. But the problem arises - in order to appreciate all the advantages of the A7, you need to use at least 4 GB of RAM, while the phone has only 1 GB. Probably, Apple did not specifically increase the amount of "RAM" so that in the future there would be an opportunity for growth.

However, the researchers think differently - the processor does not need a large amount of memory, because the performance of the 5S is about the same level as that of the S4. How is this possible? Apparently, competent optimization of the iOS operating system, on which they work, played a role here. mobile devices Apple. Specialists from Google are probably not physically able to adapt each version of their Android axis for each released phone. However, this is just a guess.

By the way, Samsung has many various sensors, most of which the iPhone does not have and is unlikely to ever appear. But do you need them?

Interface

As you know, for their Apple devices created the iOS axis. On the this moment its seventh version was released, which is available for download from the official website of the company. She received a completely new interface, which has an unusual design in the style of "minimal". As for the S4, it still works on the Android 4.2.2 axis (a new version is expected soon).

Which of these systems is more convenient for you, I personally do not know. For me, iOS is more familiar, because, in my opinion, it is much more convenient and easier to use. At the same time, "Android" allows you to customize the phone for personal needs. For example, you can even adjust the clock frequency of the processor. Just how useful it can be, everyone decides for himself.

Currently, iOS7 cannot be called ideal. Despite the fact that it was only available to software developers for several months and was constantly corrected by the creators, there are still many conflicting ideas in it, which are likely to be slowly corrected with the release of new versions. By the way, with regard to new iOS, then it should not be expected in the near future. Although ... But this does not mean at all that the Android operating system is ideal. No, in it I also find many incomprehensible moments for myself, besides, it is much worse protected from viruses, including because of its popularity.

By the way, with regard to applications, here in general parity - AppStore and Google Play are worthy competitors. Both stores have a lot of applications for every taste and budget.

Photo and video shooting (camera)

It's no secret that most smartphone users love taking pictures and posting their photos online. Both smartphones will allow you to do this without problems, but Samsung turned out to be more successful in this regard. So, he has a 13-megapixel camera with autofocus, the ability to simultaneously take photos and videos, the Dual Shot function and a whole bunch of other useful tools.

iPhone 5S looks simpler - there is "only" an 8-megapixel camera with autofocus, support for HDR-effect, face recognition, the ability to record HD video and so on. It would seem that the difference is small, so the pictures, other things being equal, should not differ much. But no - the iPhone 5S turns out much worse, especially if taken in the dark. Photos look too "dirty" and "muddy". Photos from the S4 are much better, and they look great on the phone itself. But this is only until the moment you transfer the images to a computer - they look a little worse on the monitor screen. Although in any case better than the 5S.

Battery Life

The Galaxy 4 uses a 2600 mAh battery. Not bad? More than! However, do not forget that this device has a huge screen that "eats" energy with pleasure. In 5S, the battery is much simpler - "only" 1440 mAh. However, the screen is smaller here. According to the results of numerous studies, a strong difference in operating time was not found, that is, with an average load, both devices work for about one day.

Price

iPhone 5S is more expensive than its competitor. For example, a 16-gigabyte version will cost 30 thousand rubles at the moment, while a similar S4 costs only 17-20 thousand rubles. However, it is worth taking into account the fact that the new Apple phone appeared quite recently, and therefore the cost of it is too high. As soon as the hype subsides, prices will return to normal.

Total

So than the iPhone 5S better samsung Galaxy S4? What's worse? Read and compare. As for my opinion, I choose the "iPhone" for a number of reasons of my own.

Both phones in question cost about the same. Hence the question: with an equal budget, which smartphone should be preferred? To do this, we need to compare their hardware. This is what we'll do.

Parameter table

iPhone 5s Samsung Galaxy S5
Price 17-18 thousand rubles 19-20 thousand rubles
Display 4 inches, 1136x640 5.1 inch FullHD
CPU Apple A7 Snapdragon 801
Graphics Adreno 330
RAM 1 GB 2 GB
Disk 16 GB 16 GB
rear camera 8 MP, f/2.2 16 MP (details below)
Battery 1560 mAh 2800 mAh
Peculiarities Fingerprint scanner Fingerprint scanner, IP67 protection

We have absolutely different phones between which there is nothing in common. Therefore, the comparison is more relevant than ever.

Displays

The first obvious difference after appearance is a display. iPhone phones have always been famous for their cool Retina displays with maximum viewing angles, high durability, brightness and color reproduction. The 5s model is no exception, and the screen here is really cool, which is typical of all iPhone flagships. It is quite another thing that there are no revolutions here, 4-inch diagonal is often not enough for a comfortable Internet - you have to constantly scale the text. And if anyone is dissatisfied with the resolution, it's in vain. 1136x640 at 4 inches is more than enough. Pixelation is excluded, the load on the CPU and battery is small. So that's just a plus.

But the Galaxy S5 has a 5-inch screen with FullHD (1920x1080) resolution. It is impossible to see individual pixels here, because their density is 432 dpi. But even at HD resolution, it was impossible (or extremely difficult) to see them, which casts doubt on the need for a FullHD resolution matrix. After all, it "eats" the battery and requires more CPU resource.

But it's worth paying tribute: the AMOLED screen is simply magnificent, and in terms of color saturation, brightness, viewing angles it is not inferior to the Retina display of the iPhone. Even in the sun it looks good, and in direct sunlight the text can be read.

It is difficult to determine the winner in this pair by part of the screen. But we will give the victory to Samsung because of the larger diagonal. Definitely, 5.1 inches is better than four.

Hardware performance

The Apple A7 processor cannot be called powerful today. While the iPhone 7 Plus is equipped with the cool Apple A10 Fusion and breaks performance records, the Apple A7 can be called obsolete, but in its time it was the best. If you compare the processor of the iPhone 5s with the chipset of the 4th smartphone, then iPhone 4 users will be delighted, because the 5s is just a reactive device compared to the 4.

The Antutu performance test speaks for itself - the iPhone 5S scores 62,000 points.

Now let's talk about Qualcomm's Snapdragon 801, which is used in the Samsung Galaxy S5. The chip is quad-core, the maximum core frequency is 2.45 GHz, there is an Adreno 330 coprocessor with a frequency of 578 MHz (responsible for graphics).

The CPU was also one of the best in its time, but it falls short of the A7 level. In the same Antutu benchmark, the device scores only 36,700 points, which is good for a smartphone in 2014, but bad for 2017.

So the winner in this comparison in terms of power is the Apple A7, on the basis of which the iPhone 5s was assembled.

cameras

iPhones have always been known for their amazing image quality. While other manufacturers played marketers and advertised phones with cameras with huge resolutions (20 or more megapixels), Apple paid attention to photo quality. At the same time, the resolution did not change much. The iPhone 5S has a resolution of only 8 megapixels, but the quality of the images is a cut above that of competitive smartphones. Of course, the iPhone 5S is superior in photo quality to many digital cameras, not to mention smartphone cameras.

Even at dusk, the photos are of high quality, but even this is a trifle. The 5S introduced slow motion mode (the famous slo-mo video).

Sample photos on iPhone 5s

Now let's talk about Galaxy camera S5. It uses a proprietary matrix from Samsung with Isocell technology, which should provide a sharper picture. The pixel size is small - 1.12 microns, f / 2.2 aperture (standard), ISO settings in the range of 100 to 800. Note that compared to cameras in early models (s4, for example), the image processing algorithm has been redesigned due to the wider capabilities of the processor. This is especially evident when using the HDR mode, in which the frame is taken instantly, although earlier smartphone Note 3 was waiting for the shooting to finish.

Sample photos on Samsung Galaxy S5

Subjectively: the winner of this comparison is the Galaxy S5. Visually, the picture quality seems to be better in photos taken with the Galaxy S5. But this is just a subjective opinion. All photos above are clickable. Zoom in and decide for yourself which camera takes better pictures.

conclusions

A larger screen with Full HD resolution, high battery capacity, protection against temporary submersion under water and dust, as well as a camera - these are the advantages of the Galaxy S5 smartphone compared to the fifth iPhone. The latter boasts better performance, which is largely achieved through cool optimizations. software iOS 9.

Video Galaxy review S5

Samsung Galaxy A5 vs iPhone 5s – does it make sense to compare? After all, 6 and 7 models of these popular devices have already appeared. Undoubtedly! In any case, many are interested in what better samsung A5 or iPhone 5s? The eternal confrontation annually bears fruit in the form of constant growth of both brands. And before you have time to properly enjoy the possibilities of one, the next model is already coming out.

Interesting, of course, but how to understand all this novelty? Maybe this is all a banal window dressing, and there is no fundamental difference? Not at all - the differences are serious, and you should carefully understand the features of the gadget before you buy yourself a similar toy.

It might be worth it to iPhone comparison 5s and Samsung Galaxy S5, but in this case it appears exactly Samsung model Galaxy 5A. To check, you need to consider both smartphones in detail - after all, for sure, a businessman will choose one model for himself, and a student another. And the price does not play a fundamental role here.

CPU

The iPhone 5s uses the Apple A7 processor, which is much more powerful and energy efficient than previous models. But, oddly enough, it was manufactured by Samsung. The technology used is the same as for the processor for the Samsung Galaxy S4. Therefore, logically, it should be somewhat inferior to the more advanced Samsung A5. But…

The Koreans used the Snapdragon 410 processor from Qualcomm in the A5. Both processors have a 64-bit architecture and a similar frequency, but overall performance A7 is somewhat superior to the "Korean", although it has as many as 4 cores, while the "American" has only 2 cores. The A7 has a larger L1 cache, so here it is presented in a more favorable light compared to its competitor. Graphic performance is approximately the same, but in terms of games, it is probably worth giving preference to the A7.

But some features allow the Snapdragon 410 to work with 3G communications for more high speeds which gives it a certain advantage.

Operating system

The eternal struggle between Western iOS and Asian Android is already becoming a byword, but it's still worth comparing.

In terms of the availability of applications for both systems, you don’t have to bother - enough software has been created for them, however, the AppStore app store for iOS is very convenient, you can’t argue. But for Android, at your own peril and risk, of course, you can use any source, there are no restrictions, and this is a huge plus. Downloading media is also easier through Andryusha.

In general, it was created for freedom lovers who believe that the user should be the owner of his smartphone. And they are right.

In addition, in terms of communication, use cloud storage and navigation charts Android is also superior to its western competitor.

But the security of iOS is higher, which is not surprising, of course. In general, here the choice depends more on the type of personality of the owner and his views on things.

Memory

And here the iPhone is clearly lagging behind - the mere fact that you can’t put a microflash drive is already enough. No, you can connect external media, but it's inconvenient.

True, the built-in memory, depending on the modification of the iPhone 5s, is much higher from 16 gigs to 64 gigs. Samsung has only 16 gigs, but you can put a flash drive up to 64 gigs. But, in any case, this is 80 gigs in total, and the iPhone has a limit of 64 gigs.

The RAM in the iPhone 5s is 1 gig, while in the Samsung it is 2 times more. This often equalizes their chances when launching some games.

Battery

The battery of the Samsung A5 is more powerful and capacious - 2300 mAh and lasts for 15 hours of talk time, while the iPhone 5s has 1560 mAh and it only lasts 10 hours, just like when surfing the web. However, both of these should be sufficient.

You can listen to music on a Samsung for 68 hours, and on an iPhone - 40 hours. Also a lot. On the video, a Korean is enough for 12 hours, and an American - for 10 hours.

In standby mode, both hold up to 10 days.

Both smartphones have non-removable batteries, which, of course, is a minus, but soon it will be so in all modern models. It's worth getting used to.

But, the above indicators are relevant for new batteries, and over time, the duration of work naturally decreases. Also a lot depends on the volume level and brightness.

Display

iPhone 5s has a 4-inch Retina display, with a resolution of 1136 x 640p, support for multi-touch (simultaneous touch at multiple points) and an oleophobic coating that prevents fingerprints.

The Samsung A5 has a 5-inch Super AMOLED with a resolution of 1280x720p, which already gives it an advantage. In all other respects there are no big differences.

Camera

Here, Samsung is again ahead of the competitor - the main camera is equipped with a 13-megapixel module, and the front camera is equipped with a 5-megapixel one. For comparison, the American has 8 megapixels on the main camera and only 1.2 megapixels on the front camera. Somehow not impressive...

No, the iPhone, in this regard, has additional features and shooting features, but the number of megapixels is still important.

Sensors

Here, the iPhone is a more sophisticated little thing, and in addition to the compass, accelerometer, proximity sensor, GLONASS, GPS and A-GPS systems that the Samsung has, it has a built-in fingerprint scanner (Touch ID), a gyroscope and an ambient light sensor.

Life time

On the this moment The warranty for all Apple products is given no more than 3 years, as well as for Samsung. Therefore, this indicator is not so significant. But, among the people, apple devices are considered more reliable in this regard.

Design

Korean Galaxy made in metal case(for the first time), which at that time provoked a surge in sales. It looks really stylish and the colors are extended: black, gold, white and blue.

The case is monolithic - you can not remove the battery. Well, what's the point - if they are not sold separately? Alas…

On the side of the carriage - you can fit 2 SIM cards or a SIM card and a microflash drive there. It is a pity that there are only two slots.

The iPhone has an aluminum case and three possible colors: black and gray, white and gold. The size is slightly smaller than that of the Samsung, and it looks a little thicker.

But, to be honest, Samsung's elegance is achieved by rounding the edges, and the thickness itself is a little less. Moreover, because of the cut edges, the Samsung often slips out, although a person with “correct” hands usually does not have such problems.

Price

The price of the iPhone 5s depends on the model, or rather, the size of the built-in memory:

  • 16 GB - 20,000 rubles (average);
  • 32 GB - 35,000 rubles (average);
  • 64 GB - 40,000 rubles (average).

But the prices for the Samsung A5 range from 12,000 rubles to 20,000 rubles - which is much more profitable than apple prices.

Conclusion

So, where did the comparison of iPhone 5S and Samsung Galaxy A5 lead? Despite all the visible advantages of Samsung, the choice is not easy. After all, fifon, be that as it may, is considered a more reliable technique. This is a brand that has stood the test of time. He did not have incidents like the summer explosions of Samsung. It does not allow users to install pirated software and media. Although who really wants - will find an opportunity.

iPhone is good telephone and a status that not everyone can afford. Many will say that these are just "show-offs", but you can't call them cheap ...

But Samsung is more affordable and easy to use. No hacks needed - take and install whatever you want. This is a free right of any user. No one will say that music and software must be downloaded from official copyright holders. Has broken? drowned? Accidentally crashed? Not so sorry - the price is quite affordable, and the quality is almost as good as a more expensive opponent.
